About this property

Argyle Farm - Southern Highlands Escape

Argyle Farm is a charming country farmhouse set on 103 acres with distant views of the escarpment. It is located only a short distance from Exeter village and Bundanoon. Ideally only a 90 minute drive from Sydney.

The property is a working farm breeding Angus & Speckle Park beef cattle and Wiltipol sheep. Argyle Farm produces pure grass fed beef and lamb supplying Craig Cook's Prime Quality Meats in Sydney. The farm also features a hazelnut orchard and olive grove. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through treelined paddocks and laneways offering spectacular views across the Southern Highlands.

The Tuscan inspired farmhouse was designed and constructed by the late Graham Cole who was the founder of the Cole Classic Ocean Swim Event in 1982. Graham wrote: ''The event is not a race but a challenge to all persons to stretch themselves in body and mind." The Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic Ocean Swim event still runs today.

The farmhouse offers light-filled open plan living with french doors opening onto a private garden courtyard. Great for indoor/outdoor entertaining.

The brand new kitchen is fully equipped with Miele appliances including a full steam oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and breakfast area. The kitchen opens onto a small vegetable garden and BBQ area.

The spacious living/dining area includes an open fireplace, floor heating, TV and DVD player.

The house consists of 3 bedrooms (1 upstairs and 2 downstairs) both with shared access to ensuite bathrooms. All bedrooms have adequate storage. Bedlinen and towels are provided.

Argyle Farm offers quality and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people.

Ideally suited for families who are looking for a weekend escape with the enjoyment of full size tennis court and basketball hoop

Bedding configuration:

Bedroom 1 (downstairs) - Queen size bed
Bedroom 2 (downstairs) - 2 single beds
Bedroom 3 (upstairs) - 2 single beds

Argyle Farm is an ideal base to explore the Southern Highlands.

A great weekend escape from the city life.

Ideally located close to wineries and surrounding towns and villages

Close to Morton National Park which offers a wide range of recreational opportunities (bushwalking, camping, cycling, photography), with numerous scenic walks, breathtaking views, scenic waterfalls, gorges, sandstone plateaux, and the nocturnal delights of the Glow Worm Glen to discover. Bundanoon is home to the "Highland Fling" mountain bike event in early November.

Only a short distance to local activities including golf, horse riding, berry picking and the famous Bradman Museum in Bowral.

Explore the local markets, antiques stores and restaurants.

Beautiful country retreat

Beautiful property in a peaceful and quiet location with great views. We had 4 adults and 2 children in our group and there was plenty of space. The house is well equipped with everything we could possibly need and lots of thoughtful touches. The hosts are lovely and communication easy. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return one day.

A Great Southern Highlands Stay

We were a group of 3 couples and stayed for 2 nights at Argyle Farm while we attended a family wedding in Exeter. The setting and facilities were excellent and it was unfortunate we didn't have more time to enjoy at the farm. We'll go back again!

Great weekend away

We had a wonderful time at Argyle Farm, the cows were calving which provided a lot of excitement and the kids loved feeding the cows and sheep. The house was very spacious and we were very comfortable with plenty of firewood. Was a lovely getaway!

Beautiful Destination

We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children who had an extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay at Argyle Farm. The home, which was heated for our arrival, is inviting and homely. The lovely light flooding in helps the home to feel warm and spacious. The floor heating and fire kept us toasty warm in the cool winter weather. We enjoyed the beautiful views across the paddock of resident cows and beyond. The kids (and adults) made good use of the tennis court and basketball hoop. The sunny courtyard was also a great spot for the paper and a cuppa. Big thanks to the owners for looking after us and giving excellent customer service. We definitely hope to return.

Lovely Property

We spent the long weekend at Argyle Farm. The home was beautifully presented and easily accommodated six adults and four children. The courtyard was a great place for lunches and evening meals and the views from the main living area and kitchen were lovely. We children enjoyed the walks on the farm and the tennis court was very well used.

Argyle Farm- A terrific weekend away.

A wonderful weekend for ourselves and two teenage sons. The house has a lovely inviting feel, with very comfy beds and well equipped bathrooms and kitchen. The beautiful panoramic views from the living room and other areas of the property give you an instant feeling of relaxation and the farm itself is a pleasure to stroll around, the tennis court proved a big hit with our sons.Argyle Farm was the perfect place to explore the wineries and restaurants of the local area. Our hosts recommended a local wine dinner with a visiting French chef and even provided us with taxi details to make it a very enjoyable evening. The farm is a terrific place to visit as a family and I am sure we will return.

Weekend away

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. Extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Loved the open plan layout that works to keep everyone together sharing the lounge, big long dining table and kitchen area. It suited us perfectly. I'm sure we'll be back.

Excellent Property!

We have just had a great long weekend at Argyle Farm. The house is beautifully appointed and has a wonderful and relaxing aspect overlooking the cow paddocks to the distant horizon. We stayed with another family which worked perfectly, but it would also be great for just one family. The farm itself is very well maintained. The kids loved seeing the cattle, sheep and playing tennis and basketball. While we loved the feeling of remoteness, yet all of what the southern highlands has to offer is very much on your doorstep. Three days was not enough we will definitely be back again.

Excellent property!

We just had a great long weekend at Argyle Farm. The house is beautifully appointed and has a wonderful, relaxing aspect with a lovely outlook over the cow paddocks to the distant horizon. We stayed with another family, which worked perfectly, but it would equally be great for a single family. The farm itself is very well maintained and the kids really loved seeing the cattle, sheep and playing tennis and basketball. We loved that you felt remote, but that everything that the southern highlands offers is very much on your doorstep. Three days wasn't enough we will be back again for sure.
