"Sandy Corner" is a charming Cottage in one of the best locations at Avoca Beach on the Central Coast, a short drive north of Sydney. Feel the sand on your feet directly across from the cottage. Relax by the lake with a glass of wine. Take a short one minute walk to shops, cafe's, restaurants and boutique shops to pass a lazy afternoon. This romantic little cottage just oozes charm and makes for an easy car free holiday break.

About 'Sandy Corner'

The name comes from the location. The cottage sits right on the corner where the lake meets the beach and is positioned to look towards the Terrigal headland.The cottage has just finished a major renovation and now has a huge glass stack-a-door that opens the whole front of the cottage towards the beach and lake.

The Lounge / Kitchen Area:

There is an L-Shape lounge (also converts to a bed) and a large smart TV for watching movies, sport or afternoon reality TV. The TV is a smart TV so guests can sign into their Netflix or Stan accounts to stream movies or content using the high speed internet onsite. For those staying in the cooler months there is a gas log fireplace to create warmth and ambiance at the press of a button. The kitchen is basic but has all the functionality to do home cooking. There is an induction cook-top, portable bench oven, microwave, Nespresso Machine, (With unlimited pods) fridge and all cooking utensils. Louver windows allow the sea breeze and sounds of the ocean into the cottage making a tranquil and ambient setting.

The Main Bedroom:

Fitted out with a king size bed with luxurious pillow-top mattress, premium Sheridan linen and lots of pillows. The king size bed can also be separated into two king single beds if required. All linen is provided & included in your stay so just turn up! There is also a flat screen TV in the bedroom along with lamps and Bose mini-system. The bedroom has bi-fold doors that open up towards the beach and lake or can be left closed for privacy.

The Bathroom:

This has been renovated recently and consists of a shower, toilet, basin and all towels / soaps, shampoo's etc. It;s neat, tidy, clean and functional.

The Outdoor Area:

The front of the cottage has a small yard with beautifully kept gardens, lush green grass and a white picket fence. There are two kayaks on site which can be used by guests on request. BBQ and utensils are on site for those summer afternoon fun with family or friends.

Overall:

'Sandy Corner' is a perfectly located, well thought through holiday cottage to relax, sample the local foods, have a swim / paddle and recharge.

Mark and Hannah have absolutely everything covered, no need for anything extra. The little cottage is perfect, cosy and very comfortable. Close to beach and restaurants.

Avoca Beach

The property is in a lovely location. there are local cafes and restaurants within walking distance and great beach and lagoon access for us and our dog. It is the perfect size for two people and all needs are accommodated. It was lovely surprise to get the drinks and chocolates left by the owners.

A wonderful mini break!

2 female friends from Sydney escaping the hustle and bustle of family life for a beautiful sunny weekend of relaxation. Everything we needed was within walking distance and the lovely beach side location was just perfect. The local Sunday markets were a bonus - we were lucky they fell on the weekend we stayed. Would definitely book this house again. Thank you!

Delightful holiday cottage

We both (husband Bill and myself) were very pleased with the convenient locality - close to the beach. lake, parkland areas and the shops. The cottage itself had a very homely ambience with comfort and all facilities immaculate while privacy was also preserved. Just across from the beach with such a beautiful little front yard for our 2 year old. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything was fresh and clean. Fire place was amazing! They thought of everything. Very close to everything. Even the couch was amazing. Finally a place that actually is as good as it looks in the images but more!!!

Location location location !

Incredible location just across from Avoca beach, newly renovated and they have done an amazing job with it. Incredibly comfy king bed with super soft sheets. A couple of choccys and a bottle of sparkling were very much appreciated! Beautiful products in the bathrooms and tea /oil/ washing up products provided. Layout was fab for the 3 of us and we had a wonderful time. Very easy to communicate with the host. Would love to come back. Note of advice - If you are wanting to use the sofa for sleeping, request sheets/ duvet in advance or bring your own.

Perfect location

To be able to walk out the door and across the road to stroll along the beach and watch whales playing out at sea was magical. The staff and food at Waves Cafe were great, the friendliness of all shop owners on the main drag was a great change to the big city bustle. Son enjoyed choosing between ocean and lake fishing. Daughter loved perusing the antique store. Well appointed and beautifully decorated. Everything you need and thought of. The neighbours to the cottage welcoming. Helpful and friendly. The attention to detail was marvellous. Communication with owners quick and easy. Really loved it here, would love to come back.

Cottage by the sea

The cottage was very well presented with a beautiful little garden to sit and enjoy. The position was great with a very short walk to coffee shops, and general amenities. Newsagents,chemists,general store etc. The cottage was clean and bright and very comfortable with great views of the lake and all the activities that were associated with the beach and lake. Our dealings with Mark were easy, he was very quick to reply to any communications that we sent and even stocked the fridge with a few treats for our stay. Mark made suggestions for restaurants which was helpful. We were in Avoca for a family event but enjoyed our visit in this little cottage that we will certainly make plans to come back and explore this lovely part of the coast soon.

What a stunning little spot! We had a lovely mid week stay and everything was as described. Easy check in and great communication with the hosts. Newly renovated and beautifully styled. Such a comfy bed and loved reading my book in the bespoke lounge chair with a drink (thank you for the bottle of sparkling left in the fridge for us). We will be back!

Sandy Corner Cottage is absolutely stunning! It was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed and decorated and in a spectacular location. We loved going for walks along the beach and river, both right on our doorstep. This little treasure is hard to beat! Very well appointed, with everything you need during your stay.The position is gorgeous, steps from the beautiful Avoca Beach. Close to all shops with a short walk to the Surf Club, with many Cafes to choose from.We would highly recommend this accommodation.

My wife Hannah and I are absolute beach lovers and hold a special place in our hearts for the central coast and Avoca Beach in particular. We have tried to create a special and relaxed space for others to enjoy a romantic weekend or week away from the busy city life.

We love the beach walks, the rock pools and the local restaurants and boutique shops that all ooze charm and that country beach style feel.

Why they chose this property

Avoca Beach is relaxed, the people are all friendly and the weather is usually just perfect. The location just one hour north of Sydney makes Avoca Beach easy to access and not a chore to get to and from. We love the local restaurants and the most amazing beach on the Central coast. There is children safe areas to swim, a patrolled beach as well as great waves for those that love to surf.

What makes this property unique

Sandy Corner has an unbeatable position. Our little slice of the central coast sits right on the corner of the lake where it meets the ocean. It is also only a 50 meter walk to the main cafe and shopping strip. Our guests love that you can drive to the cottage, park the car and not need to drive again until they leave to head home.
