At various times of the year, the town attracts keen fishermen who seek tuna and snapper. Whales frequently visit the harbour, where they can be seen from the piers, and koalas are commonly seen walking in the main street or visiting suburban gardens.

The home was lovely and warm for those winter fishing trips, had everything they needed, location was great to walk up for a nice pub meal. Parking was a dream for the boat and hose attached made it a Fisherman’s paradise.

A comfortable and very convenient place to stay. Walking distance to the shops and many attractions. Well equipped kitchen and laundry, off street parking, and great central heating (it was a very cold week in March).
We would definitely recommend Hurdit to others and plan to return.
Enjoyed staying in this old cottage and would have appreciated more information about it (such as when it was built, how much it has changed over the years, what woods were used on the floor and walls, etc.). Convenient location in Portland. It was windy and cold during our stay so we appreciated the heating. Local information provided by host was good.
The house is terrific for families, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy yourself. The location is within walking distance of the main street. We could pretty much walk from the house to any popular spot in Portland. So handy.
The house has a real holiday feel; not too overdone which is great for anyone who has kids.
Elizabeth was super easy to communicate with and the whole process was seamless.
Thanks so much for having us. We loved our stay.
Very compact. For 3 adults, 2 children I would probably not stay here again. The house was clean, just a little too compact for our liking.
Adequate amenities.
Everything you could need. Beds comfortable. Clean and tidy. Amazingly central to Portland.
Very impressed with the owners not allowing back to back bookings for COVID reasons. 48 hour spacing between guests.

We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful cottage. Close to the main street, close to the ocean and beautiful inside. My husband loves the original features of the wooden floors and ceiling and it had everything that we required. We will definitely book again when we come back to Portland. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
This cottage has a large garden. The tall mirror-leaf hedge offers shelter and privacy so that your mornings can be spent on the front veranda enjoying the morning sun. The back garden includes fruit tree and a rambling garden for children to enjoy.
