This contemporary one-bedroom villa, set on 2 hectares of private grounds, promises a delightfully peaceful getaway with only nature and the resident kangaroos and ducks as your company.

Everything that you need for a relaxing romantic getaway is available at Kurrajong Retreat. The property’s location is an easy walk from a number of cafes and shops, as well as the Hepburn Golf Course. It’s also the ideal base for exploring the many mineral day spas that the region is famous for, including Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa. Here, you can pamper yourself with a rejuvenating spa treatment — the perfect antidote for stress.

You’ve struck it rich if you get to spend a weekend (or more) at Kurrajong Retreat in this unique piece of Victoria.

Around 150 years ago, the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges were bristling with gold rush fever which brought instant prosperity into this part of the Great Dividing Range, a legacy you can clearly see when driving around the lavish homesteads and historic streetscapes.

These days, it’s not only renowned for its high concentration of natural mineral springs, but it is also a haven for provedores, locavores, restaurateurs, and vignerons alike who have made the tree-change for a more sustainable way of life.

But there is so much more to do than eat, drink and get pampered! No wonder this regional gem is marked as a top spot for a great getaway – you’ll be hard-pressed to fit everything in.

Fantastic location makes you kinda feel like your away in the bush but actually your on a road with a few other houses down the street. Very private and very good amenities with the little house, the deck is awesome with those double sliding doors in the living and the master bed. Seeing the wildlife such as kangaroos, ducks and kookaburras just outside was a treat.

The cabin is beautiful and very modern, as gorgeous as it looks in the pictures. There is heaps of space and everything you need. The bedroom and deck have a peaceful rural outlook and we saw kangaroos grazing everyday. Was exactly the relaxing getaway we were looking for.

Very nice property tucked away just out if Hepburn Springs. Gives great access to all of Daylesford/Hepburn Springs cafes, shops and activities. Owner was very communicative and provided plenty of suggestions of great local attractions. All in all, a Perfect place to curl up in front of the fire. Make sure you check out the nearby Blue Bean cafe for their fantastic coffee, food and craft beer selection. Definitely somewhere you will want to return to.

The owner was very helpful providing lots of information about the local area including restaurants, tourist attractions and local history. Both me and my partner loved the hamper of local goodies and wanted to order some of our own local goods online after we got home. Kurrajong Retreat is cosy and very well appointed with a very large bed and plenty of heating. The facilities available have been thoroughly planned to ensure everything you need for a short stay is provided. Immersed with wildlife the grounds are very well maintained, waking up to kangaroos on the grounds visible from the bedroom set a tranquil mood that carried throughout our stay. A quick taxi ride into town for dinner was well worth the $10 for a few drinks. Kurrajong Retreat was such a pleasant getaway that we would highly recommend. We will have to come back when the weather is warmer to enjoy the bifold doors and large deck. Thanks again Geoff
