Fantastic place the only bummer was that we had to buy wood for fireplace which added up especially on the cold days where really your paying a premium there should be wood on site.

A Wonderful Thanksgiving in Rangeley AGAIN
Our extended family consisting of 3 generations was able to enjoy a long 5 day Thanksgiving Weekend at the Bishop House this year. We've been coming from the coast of Maine for 16 years now to celebrate Thanksgiving in the Mountains and Rangeley never disappoints. We enthusiastically participated in Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday and made many trips to the IGA. Otherwise, we basically snuggle in and play games and do puzzles and had plenty of room for our very own Amazing Race. We particularly loved the Master Suite with its separate stair case and the grandgirls loved their room. I liked the bedroom off the kitchen as I was always up first. You can't get closer to the lake and we saw white caps all weekend. Was this the ocean? I liked the privacy of this cottage but appreciated not feeling so isolated; there were people around rather than wildlife so we felt safe walking off that dinner but we always remember you can't leave without your florescent orange!!! Can't wait for next year.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bishop Lake House. The beds were comfortable and the lake view was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked and nice to cook in. As some helpful suggestions it would be great to offer some paddleboards, extra pillows (two per person) and beach towels. The dryer takes an eternity to dry clothes, like 2 hours per load. There was no a/c so it does get quite hot on the second floor. We could not figure out how to use any of the televisions. Lastly there were tons of video cameras. The one in the living room was on till we covered it and it felt like an invasion of privacy.

Heavenly Lake Location
I am a longtime seasonal Rangeley renter and this was my first time at the Bishop Lake House. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I arrived at check-in. The house is unique and thoroughly enjoyable! We enjoyed having counter space for dining and gathering, along with the actual dining table for dinners and cards/game playing. This home is very well appointed with plenty of flatware, dishes, and cooking supplies. We were thrilled to use the grill to be able to feed our hungry skiing crew. This lakefront property is a gem and the driving distance to Saddleback mountain was a breeze. In addition, I highly recommend the staff at Morton & Furbish for making check in/out easy and for answering any questions I had. Renting with Morton & Furbish is always a breeze. I look forward to my return to ski again next year. Thank you for sharing your home!
