Enjoy watching the sound water gently rolling as you relax in the deck chairs at Sounds Like Fun! Perfectly located within walking distance to the Avalon Beach Kitty Hawk Boat Access, where you can slip your boat, kayak, paddleboard, or jet ski in the water for fun on the sound. Or you can head up the street, less than a mile, to the Avalon Fishing Pier for some pier fishing.

After playing in the water, on the beach or sound, you can return to Sounds Like Fun for a fresh grilled catch of the day. There are so many activities, sightseeing, dining, and shopping within easy access from the house.

This is a charming beach home with plenty of room for the whole family!

Lovely cottage/NO Wifi

The cottage was wonderful and the location was even better. The cottage was a little dirty upon arrival. The bath mats were full of hair and dirt and the counters were sticky. There was also no batteries in the remotes upstairs in the master. The Wifi was basically nonexistent and we had to go to Starbucks to send emails. The cable wasn't accessible due to the instability of the connection. Overall, we fell in love with the area and the home was great!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was in a very convenient location but lacked good outdoor space to gather. The AC unit had also stopped working and window units were in place. One of the bedrooms did not have an AC unit and the room stayed very warm. One of our group slept on the couch due to the heat in the room. Overall very suitable and nice neighborhood with good sound access.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 2041 Bay dr. We will miss the sound views and having the multi use path right outside the front door. We had no issues with the home during our extended stay, everything was clean and functioned as advertised.

WORST STAY EVER

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Picture of the cottage outside and inside on the website does not depict what the cottage actually looks like. The online shows a bright cheerful place when it is the exact opposite. Tree in the front is overgrown to where you can not view the sound from the porch. The keyless entry was on the side door into the garage-no outside light worked-and you had to walk to the front door to let others in the house each time. Entry of the home was very dark, overhead lighting did not work, ceiling fan in den did not work, ants and small roaches in the kitchen. I had to buy spray. The floor in the den/kitchen/dining area was very dirty and I had to clean upstairs and downstairs. No mop or bucket-I mopped the floors on my hands and knees. Filter on the freezer was expired. Dog hair on the bottom of the bar stools. The AC was not working in the home-only registering 79-80. Major water leak in the garage leaking from the downstairs bathroom onto the hot water heater right beside the electrical panel. Carolina Shores brought in 3 window units and during the day the temp in the home was 77-78 and during the night was 74-75. The home was hot and miserable. We were thankful for the window units but it was not enough to cool the home. Wifi was not working and there was not cable TV. I called to inform Carolina Shores of all of the issues. I saw an email where the owner was giving me 10% refund---I deserve much more. I have only 1 vacation a year and this was it!

House needs a real AC system and an exterminator.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If it wasn't for the weak AC and ants, I would recommend it, but 80+ degree interior temps with the AC running full blast, and having to spray the kitchen everyday to kill the ants was not fun.
