Fox Den - 3 Bedroom/2 Bath Vacation Rental

Big Bear Cabin Rentals are found in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains in beautiful Macon County, North Carolina. Our charming North Carolina vacation rentals are located on a quiet wooded mountainside conveniently off of Hwy 441 in Franklin.

Our cozy, fully furnished vacation homes are a real breath of fresh air from the typical motel chains and are perfect for your next family vacation or that special honeymoon getaway. Take advantage of the easy access and close proximity to town. Fox Den is our largest property with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is located in a more secluded area that is separate from our other four 2-bedroom cabins.

Fox Den sleeps 6 adults comfortably in 3 bedrooms (2 with queen beds and 1 with a king bed); with a queen-size sleeper sofa, it can sleep up to 8 adults. Fox Den comes complete with wood floors, all appliances (including a washer and dryer), a full kitchen, rustic furnishings and decor, and includes all the amenities you need, as well as free wifi and satellite TV service. All cabins have benches and fire rings in addition to outdoor grills and rockers on the front porch.

A maximum of 2 pets are allowed in our cabins. A pet fee of $100 per pet (this includes pets of your own AS WELL AS pets brought to the property by friends, family, or anyone not in the booking party) must be paid at the time of booking and will be invoiced separately.

Unless you have paid a pet fee and your pet is approved to be at the property, no pets (including the pets of any visitors as well as any stray animals) are allowed on the premises. Guests will be evicted immediately if any unauthorized pets are brought onto the property. The pet fee grants you permission to bring a pet; any extra cleaning and/or repairs of damage caused by the pet will result in additional fees. You are responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse; failure to do so will result in additional fees.

We require an e-signed rental agreement which will be emailed after booking. Rental terms in the agreement are listed under House Rules on Airbnb, the general description on VRBO/HomeAway, or on our website. Big Bear Cabin Rentals reserves the right to cancel an Instant Booking if the guest does not agree to the terms of the rental agreement fully or refuses to sign it.

To avoid extra cleaning fees, we ask that you clean up after yourselves and leave the cabins in good order. All bath linens should be left in the bathtub, dishes should be washed, dried and put away, floors swept and all the garbage should be collected and put in the garbage can outside. We'll take care of the bedding.

Perfect getaway

There are plenty of fun activities to enjoy

We had tons of fun on our vacation in the Smokey's! Gem mining in Franklin, floating down the Cherokee, fishing tournament for trout( we had fresh trout over the camp fire for dinner one night!), Highlands waterfalls and swimming hole, amazing experience ❤️! And the mountains peaks and views are so beautiful! Oh!!, the Georgia peaches are ten minutes from vacation home! Amazing trip!

"There is nothing we can do about it"

Great location...BUT, the Fox Den cabin had a broken drier, clogged drains, broken rocker on the front porch, outdated smoke detectors, inadequate number of towels, broken ice dispenser, and significant dampness and moldy smell. When called the office I was told pleasantly, "There is nothing we can do about it". The value of the rental was not even close to the experience. Customer service was not, it was only, "There is nothing we can do about it". The next renter should first inquire about the state of the laundry room... I cannot recommend Big Bear as a company, or the Fox Den as a cabin, "There is nothing I can do about it"! Vrbo - Beware who you represent on your website. In this instance, the inaccuracies and misrepresentations were posted on your website (you own it).

Wow!

We have a WCU student that couldn’t come hone for Christmas because of a work schedule so we decided to go to her and rented this cabin - what a great decision! This place is incredible. First, we had 3 vehicles, 2 of which were a 2001 Corolla and a minivan. We had no trouble at all accessing this cabin. The road and driveway are well-maintained. Plus, there was flat area in front that easily accommodates 3 cars with enough space to easily turn around when leaving. The pictures are misleading - the rooms are bigger and condition much nicer than can be seen online! We were so surprised when we entered! Given we were there for Christmas, we brought all of our gifts for one another, a tree, and a stocking holder stand. There was still plenty of room for my husband, myself, our 4 kids (ages 9-19), and our 100lb lab to navigate through the living room and sit together as well. We had gifts from the big guy up North that needed to be hidden too, and this place had plenty of hiding spots! We were easily able to execute the needed work on Christmas Eve to deliver all of the excitement and surprise Christmas morning ... what a relief! The location of this cabin is just incredible. This is a developing area with all the modern conveniences and amenities of grocery stores and restraints less than 2 minutes from the front door of this place, yet this cabin has all the darkness, quiet, and privacy expected from a mountain cabin. If I hadn’t experienced it myself, I wouldn’t believe it. Just the coolest experience to be in the hustle and bustle of a growing area, and 30 seconds after turning on the road leading to this cabin you’re in a totally different environment that is remote, quiet, and dark. We had an issue on Christmas and I sent an email rather then call or text anyone because I in no way expected a response. Regardless, I received a very concerned and apologetic text message from Scott offering an alternative, and the next day I received a follow-up message from Jennifer. To say I was blown-away at the response and concern is an understatement. Incredible service to say the least. The cabin is clean, bed are comfortable, rooms are cozy, towels are thick and fluffy, and the location is just incredible! I anticipated a lot of work when we decided to go somewhere new for the holidays and it ended up being such an incredible experience. I couldn’t be happier with the cabin, place, and experience!
