Villa Marjorie is located on Tar Bay at Silver Beach, George Town, Exuma, Bahamas. It has been completely remodeled and updated with brand new sliding doors that were installed in February 2020. She is a two bedroom and two bathroom beach house with central air conditioning, modern kitchen with new stainless steel Whirlpool appliances and granite counter tops, garbage disposal and fresh water filter. The living room and dining area is equipped with a 42 inch flat screen LG TV.

Each bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV and is nicely appointed with dark wood furniture and enjoys incredible views of the sparkling turquoise waters. All rooms lead to the beach by way of their own 8ft. sliding glass doors that open onto a 10ft. by 37ft. covered balcony that is literally a few steps to the water. Villa Marjorie is an 8 minute drive East from George Town International Airport and 12 minutes West of downtown George Town, Exuma

Beautiful beach views

House is as pictured online. We appreciated the beach views from the living atea and bedrooms. Location is close to the airport and convenient for traveling to north or south end of island. There are beach chairs, floaties, and beach toys available.

Beautiful beach

House was in a great location with beautiful beach view. Steps away from water. Although there were neighboring houses, still felt very private as rarely saw anyone out. The house was very comfortable with central air. There were a few close by snorkeling reefs in either direction that had lots of interesting fish. Loved the house and island and would definitely return.

Girls trip

This is my 2nd stay at Villa Marjorie, this time with 2 of my friends. The location is central and super convenient. The back porch and beach are the best part of the house. We spent each night on the porch enjoying the view, breeze and sounds of the waves. Exiting the driveway can be difficult to see so take caution.

Nice stay

We had a nice stay in this location. Convenient to many beaches and a drive to the two extremes...Coco Plum and Tropic of Cancer but close to town and several other beaches. Well cared for place and have no complaints.

Beautiful location

We had a wonderful time in Exuma and at Villa Marjorie. The home was well appointed and had everything you would need. The WIFI/TV worked well with no issues. The beach was perfect for relaxation. We would definitely stay again!

Great Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Marjorie very much. The house was as described. The house clean, beds comfortable. We appreciated having the Kayaks and beach chairs. It was also very well stocked with toiletries and kitchen basics. The coffee pot was broken but another was purchased immediately.

Our son proposed to his girlfriend on the beach, wonderful moment. The property is nicely located, is very well equipped and extremely clean. Just as advertised. The beach chairs and loungers are in great shape, plenty of beach towels, etc. Great correspondence with our host. Would highly recommend!

Another week in paradise!

This is was our second stay at Villa Majorie and it just gets better every visit . The host was always available and accommodating and was as usual a pleasure to speak with ! The description is exactly as promised . The best beach in the world in our opinion and the water … it’s almost like it’s not real … it’s the most turquoise in the island … we just relaxed outback in a picture perfect serene environment that makes you not want to ever leave ! Thank you again to the host and we can’t wait to get back !

Wedding moon

Villa Marjorie was the perfect spot for our wedding/ honeymoon/birthday vacation! Everything is exactly as you see it in the pictures. We loved the sweet housekeeper and the location on the beach was one of the best we saw on the whole island. We will definitely be coming back for an anniversary trip soon! Love this place.

This little house on Tar Bay looks small on the outside. Upon entering we discovered it was spacious and so nicely done with new appliances and flooring. New ceilings and paint. It is simply gorgeous. I wanted to copy it all in my home. Beautiful place to swim just off the covered back porch. Mosquitoes and sand flies were not a problem for us. We are so pleased with our stay here.

Lovely View — But Unresolved Issues and Health Concerns

The view from the porch overlooking turquoise waters was beautiful and truly the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, serious issues with the villa disrupted our stay. A kitchen leak caused black mold, a strong odor, and health symptoms (nausea, headaches, coughing), making the kitchen unusable for much of our two-week trip. We lost groceries and had to change our plans due to the impact on our health.While the host initially agreed to compensate us for part of the stay, we experienced delays and a lack of follow-through. After nearly two months with no resolution, we escalated the matter to VRBO. We’re grateful that a supervisor stepped in, reviewed the case thoroughly, and helped secure reimbursement from the host. VRBO also recognized the health risks we faced and provided additional support. We truly appreciated their involvement and professionalism.Other concerns included sparking outlets, poor cleanliness, mold in vents and cabinets, and misleading listing details. FYI: the villa has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4, not 3 bedrooms/6 guests. Several listed amenities were missing or unsafe (e.g., no visible fire extinguisher, rocky beach access).Though the scenery was stunning, our experience was frustrating and disappointing overall. We're thankful to VRBO for helping make things right and ensuring concerns like ours are taken seriously for future guests.

Amazing, private, realxing getaway!!

Our trip to the Villa Marjorie was amazing! My husband and I came to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We went in September so there really wasn't a lot of people on the island. We only saw 3 people on the beach the entire week we were there. I just can't put into words how beautiful the water and beach is, just right off the back porch of this house. We didn't experience any problems with the house. Cleo, the house manager is wonderful. This house was very clean, had everything you needed and we never even experienced an outage with the internet like some reviews said. We will definitely be coming back and bringing the kids someday!

Beautiful house on the water

Villa Marjorie was a great house on a large soft, sandy beach. The house was well appointed, with a nice kitchen, pretty bathrooms and comfortable beds. Do note that the 3rd bedroom is the living room. The couch is a double recliner, not a pull out. My teen thought is was less than optimal for sleeping but you can always nap on the beach later (but beware the no-see-ums cause those suckers bite and you itch). The stretch of beach you will sit on has several houses and makes for a great morning or afternoon stroll. We didn't kayak too much as the water was rough, but it could be a fun activity. The other houses are close, but not too close so they don't bother you. All in all a great place for a small group to beach dream the days away.

Best place to stay in Exuma!

We brought my mom to Exuma to celebrate her 70th birthday. We needed a rental with as few steps as possible and we’re hoping for a place with beach access. Villa Marjorie did not disappoint! The inside was super clean and well-maintained. There was plenty of room for the three of us. Fresh linens and towels for the beach were plentiful. We really appreciated the fact there were travel shampoos, conditioners, hand lotions, and soaps as well as soap at every sink. This has not been our experience before at other properties in Exuma and we were pleasantly surprised. All rooms have sliding doors and screen doors, so you can listen to the water calling from anywhere in the house. The back porch had plenty of seating options and a breathtaking view. It was even more beautiful than the pictures. The host was amazing and in constant communication. Thank you Jena for an unforgettable stay. We will be back!

Beautiful Beach & House

We really enjoyed our week-long stay at Villa Marjorie! The place was very clean and had all of the cooking utensils we needed (my 5yo daughter especially appreciated all of the kids' dinnerware). Walking right out from the bedroom to the beautiful turquoise waters and softest sand I've ever been on - bliss! The villa is well stocked with laundry and dish detergent, plenty of bath and beach towels, floats, life jackets, kids' sand toys, and we really enjoyed taking the kayak out! One thing to note is the water from the tap doesn't get super hot (probably like this all over the island), but it's hot enough for a nice shower after a day on the beach. Jena was very communicative when I reached out here and there. Other notes - Be prepared for food prices on the island - very expensive compared to US ($8-12 for a box of cereal!) We used Thompson's Car Rental by the airport. Very easy process and reasonable rates. We didn't have any problem driving on the island, down to Georgetown (cute straw market), though the roads toward the northern part of the island get a bit rough (we had an excursion out of Barreterre Dock through Exuma Water Sports and would recommend them as well!) We weren't particularly impressed with the Fish Fry area for dinner (high prices, low ambiance), but Mike's Pizza Plus just down the road has delicious pizza and wings! The only unfortunate part of our trip was that my daughter got a terribly painful case of swimmer's ear. Thankfully, Dr. Rolle at the Exuma Family Medicine Clinic was able to see us promptly, and Smitty's Pharmacy was able to quickly fill her prescriptions at very reasonable prices. If you have a medical need while on the island, highly recommend them! We loved our stay at Villa Marjorie and hated to leave but hope to return one day. We'd come back here in a heartbeat.

Excellent beach and location

The house is located directly on a beautiful quiet white sand beach. The porch directly faces this gorgeous view with spectacular sunrises. The water was mostly calm and had an easy walk in access. There were 2 kayaks available at the house as well as floats, cooler, and kids sand toys. The manager was quick to respond and got us kitchen towels, sponges and batteries and a flashlight. We lost power 3 times for short periods of time., so the flashlight was very helpful. The house is a bit dark as stated by other renters. We pulled back the heavy dark drapes and opened the Venetian blinds. There is a new comfortable “leather” reclining couch in the living room . We used a beach towel on the seat so that we didn’t stick to the seats. Some of the photos seem to be older…there is no hammock and the table pictured under the tree was broken down and unusable. The indoor furniture was dark and showed wear and tear from it being a rental. As other have stated, there were no spices….salt, pepper etc. They left 4 trash bags for the kitchen, 4 dishwasher tabs and 4 laundry tabs…not quite enough for. 13 day stay. There were plenty of beach towels and bath towels. The cotton monogrammed bathrobes were an added bonus! The beds were comfortable, however, polyester sheets are very hot and I would not consider them fine linens. The appliances worked well and were new. There were 4 plastic Adirondack chairs, a small plastic table and 4 plastic chairs, and 5 plastic lounge chairs with very comfortable cushions on the porch. I’m not sure if water pressure is an issue in Exuma, but the house had very low water pressure. We use the hall shower since it seemed to have better pressure than the master bath. The outdoor space was definitely the house’s best feature.

AMAZING Family Vacation at Villa Marjorie

We just returned from a 7 day vacation to Exuma, and it was hands down the best family vacation we have ever had. We are a family of four with two daughters (ages 14 and 7). The accommodations at Villa Marjorie are exactly as pictured in this listing. The kitchen was well equipped and all appliances were in good working order. The living area was a perfect size for our family even though we did not spend much time there. The bedrooms (both king) were good size and both had perfect views of the amazing beach and turquoise waters. Both bathrooms were as pictured and were great. There is also a nice storage closet in the master where we found a few floats and a rolling cooler. The porch along the back of the home was awesome. It provided shade all day and the view was breathtaking. The beach was pristine, white powder and was virtually private. It was wonderful for swimming for the adults and kids. There is a rustic table and shaded child's swing which provided hours of entertainment for our 7 year old. The gentle slope to the beach has some coral beneath the sand, but it was easy to find a smooth path to the water's edge. We enjoyed floating, swimming, fishing and exploring the beach. Overall, this property met our expectations and we loved it! There are a few minor things that I feel would have made this home a five star experience. We would have loved a few beach chairs for seating on the beach. The rolling cooler was great for our days on the boat, but should probably be replaced as the handle was detached on one side. The outdoor furniture was adequate and had comfortable cushions, but was not the best quality. We would love to see upgraded furniture. The outdoor shower was pure heaven, but the broken handle necessitated using a wrench to turn on and off. All are simple improvements to this already amazing property. We will absolutely return to Villa Marjorie and Tar Beach! There are no words for the beauty of this spot, and the tranquility and relaxation we experienced at this property will not soon be forgotten. The kids are already asking when we can return.

Absolutely amazing

Villa Marjorie is the perfect rental on the most amazing Exuma beach. The view from the house is somehow even more breathtaking than the listing pictures. We can’t wait to stay at this house again.
