Vaimaanga Beach. this like new Beach Apartment awaits you for your island holiday. a spacious upstairs area with one air conditioned bedroom and air conditioned lounge and a second king bed in the open plan living area. a full modern kitchen incl dishwasher and outside there is a deck, comfy couch and BBQ. This is a private space and the only apartment on the first floor with views to the lagoon. Head downstairs and outside, the beach is 20 steps away with kayaks and snorkeling gear for your use!

Our guests that stay in the Apartment love the closeness to the lagoon and the huge bonus of having one of the best restaurants on the island a short stroll away to enjoy cocktails, dinner or on the beach with the sand between your toes.

The Apartment itself is on the first floor, approximately 70m2, self contained and private with no neighbours either side, modern and airy and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable including a real comfy beds and plenty of room for everybody!

What makes the it stand out is where it is situated. The sunsets are incredible and can be seen off your deck as well as lagoon views, the beach is right there with no roads to cross and is quiet with golden coral free sand and great for walks when the day is ending.

The beach is steps from the apartment and is all yours to enjoy and quiet as is away from the busy resorts and hotels so when you hit the lagoon its just you.
Throughout the booking process and during your stay we are on hand to help and only a phone call away. Upon booking we send our jam packed Guide Book full of the best things to do, see eat and drink on the island.

As we are living on the island but not onsite we will stop by at some stage to say Kia Orana (hello), other than that we leave you to it - it is your place for your entire stay.

Who would Vaka Beach Retreat Suit?
- a couple wanting something modern, a bit up market but at a great nightly rate
- guests wanting to be close to the beach with no roads to cross just a few steps away but dont want to pay the large nightly rates for absolute beach front.
- guests wanting a private get away , the apartment is upstairs with no one else either side or above you - just you !
- those not wanting to be in the main tourist hubs of the island, the South Side is still quiet and not full of resorts and hotels. its easy enough to get to the main areas of the island but you dont need to be staying amongst it !

The owners have created a genuine vibrant island atmosphere and you will feel part of this friendly and busy community. there is a great convenience store just two minutes walk from the Apt as well as a takeaways and a dvd shop for those nights when you just want to relax with a movie after a day in the sun!
Getting around the island is so easy if you dont wish to have transport. There is a bus service that will take you clock or anti clockwise around the island every 45 mins - just tell the driver where you want to get off!

Lots of guests enjoy seeing the island by scooter which is a great way to get around especially when the suns out !

A more relaxing way to see the island is by hiring a bicycle either pedal or electric from Ride Rarotonga. they will even drop it off to the apartment .

Wonderful place to stay

This apartment is a great place to stay - very comfortable, modern and well equipped, and in a lovely, peaceful part of the island. The beach is right there and there is the bonus of Vaima restaurant next door and Wigmores store down the road. We would definitely love to stay again.

Great spot

This place was in an amazing spot especially if you are planning to snorkel a lot! The paddle boards and kayaks are also lovely and there’s enough for everyone. Overall a great stay, would stay again :)

This is our second stay in this apartment, which says it all really - we love it. Very comfortable, modern and well equipped, and in a lovely, peaceful part of the island. The beach is right there, Vaima restaurant next door and Wigmores store down the road.

Beautiful place

It was a great place with all the amenities. The host was always available to answer questions and help when needed. The snorkeling right off the beach was fantastic. We loved waking up feeling like we were up in the palm trees as we looked out the windows at the reef!

The place was very clean and there was a welcome platter in the fridge for us when we arrived on Sunday afternoon. Great location. Access to beach with snorkelling, paddleboards and kayaks etc was fantastic. Kitchen is very well spec'd. Clear communication from friendly hosts. Would gladly stay here again.

Few steps to lagoon & beach with nice swimming with access to SUP’s & kayaks. Wigmores store was just a short walk & great for provisions. Accomodation was as described, comfortable, well-provisioned & very clean. Nice big balcony with views of lagoon & great to have the bbq. Meitaki Sarah & Adam.

Everything I Hoped For and More!

From the moment I arrived, this property offered everything I was looking for in a vacation retreat. Great property. Comfy beds, great shower. Lots of towels provided. Lovely fruit platter. The snorkel masks (2 available) and snorkel pipe (1 available only) could do with replacing or not advertised really, as they were past their usefulness and we would have brought our own from home but were anticipating useful ones on site. Great host communication.

Absolutely beautiful place. Not far to walk to beautiful beach. Very private. We saw whales from our deck, highlight of the trip. House is extremely well equipped. There is 2 small houses in front of you but you still get great views up high. Please take ear plugs for the dogs constantly barking through the whole night and rosters from around 2am onwards. Also house could do with i net catching device for the lizards that get in. So uou can let them out nicely.Great place.

Adam and Sarah were very easy to work with. Property was as advertised. Nicely provisioned, clean, just steps to the water. Snorkeling was pretty good, some very nice restaurants, easy to get around. Islanders by far the friendliest, most helpful of any place in the world, I have visited. 3cautions, one, if you are from the U.S. the phone system numbering is different, not able to text with your phone. Do not rent a car from Island Bike and Car, at the airport. tipping protocol is not clear.

Modern and comfortable

The place had everything we needed! Modern and comfortable with plenty of space for just the two of us. Great restaurant next door and a DVD store on the other side which is a must for movie night. The lagoon was amazing, not to far from the property at all. We spent our morning/afternoons in the lagoon, nights out to dinner and movie back at the property. Adam and Sarah were very easy to deal with and great hosts too!

Why they chose this property

Why? because of the location. because it is quiet and away from the resorts and crowds. because to get a like new apartment just steps from the beach offers great value for money and because we are on the island and able to help you maximise your time here before and during your stay with help, knowledge or just for a chat!

There is a restaurant close by including the best pizzas on the island - Southside Pizza. a cafe and takeaways are in the same area and a large convenience store. It is much quieter than other parts of the islands as no resorts - the beach and lagoon are stunning and 2km walk away from the now famous Turtle Tours.

500m away is the track leading to the Cross Island Walk (the needle).
