Our stay at The White Elephant was truly wonderful. The house is gracious and was perfect for our large family gathering. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with ample dining space. The hosts were extremely accommodating which allowed for a seamless arrival and departure. I highly recommend this property.

Great house that is in great condition, very well furnished and has comfortable beds. Great layout for a group getting together. Outdoor area looks awesome, wished it was a little bit warmer during our stay and we would’ve taken advantage of it.My only suggestion to the owners would be to include some coffee. Otherwise, really fantastic place that we will come back to.

The White Elephant was excellent! It was such a nice place for a large group. We were in town for a wedding and had plenty of room for everyone. The beds and linens were very nice, and the home was perfectly cleaned. In a quiet neighborhood just north of downtown. I would not hesitate at all to book this place again!Thank you for sharing your home with us!

So relaxing to be able to throw a cookout and enjoy the pool and hot tub and each other’s company here! Fully stocked cookware and dinnerware. Didn’t have to bring a thing other than the ingredients! Every guest loved their room and the house was even more than we could hope for.

Our family gathered to celebrate Mom’s 90th birthday! This home felt like a treehouse, nestled among beautiful foliage, which made it both private and serene. The owner was wonderful—always responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit with everyone, and the house easily accommodated five families. A truly memorable stay that made a very special occasion even more perfect. The furnishings are lovely and the kitchen is stocked with all the appliances needed. My parents live just up the road and Mom said more than once - I can’t believe this beautiful place is right in our area. Definitely recommend - ⸻

Great house and pool for a group

Pool area is perfect. We had several families with lots of kids and everyone had a blast. Gorgeous large pool with great pool house with full kitchen and outdoor grill and lots of seating. Really a great place to stay. We would definitely go back.

Perfect getaway!

Plenty of room for our family & friend group to gather together without being on top of each other. Beds & pillows were comfy, kitchen was well stocked, pool setting was stunning, & communication with hosts was fantastic! The location is terrific…we stayed for UVA graduation week and the proximity to campus, restaurants & grocery stores was wonderful! Truly a gem of a property!

White Elephant Inn

My family is very experienced staying at large private rentals. They all agreed that the White Elephant Inn was the best house that we had rented. The architects that designed it must have had fun, and the layout was very imaginative. The children enjoyed the infinity pool, and the large kitchen was ideal for community cooking. Two dining areas allowed for comfortably seating 14 for prolonged feasts. The furniture and decorative arts made the interior of the home very welcoming. The location was only minutes away from down town Charlottesville. We would be happy to go back if we were headed to Charlottesville.Thanks to the Daggetts for sharing their lovely house.

This was a reunion of 12 sorority sisters who are now 73-75 years old. It was perfect for the gathering. The dining room and kitchen were of size and design to prepare and enjoy our meals. The living area was perfect for evening gatherings for conversation, laughter, reflections and sharing. Bedrooms and baths were comfortable as well. We used the pool house to sleep one and that was accommodating as to not overcrowd. Of course so much to do in the area and location is easy for transport pickup and drop off. House clean, inviting and comfortable. 5 stars all the way. Will say there are lots of steps for those who have slight mobility challenges. So may want to alert in your promotional.

Wonderful pool, location, gathering space

A wonderful stay for UVA graduation weekend. House was very close to town (and we could drive back roads the whole way to avoid 29 traffic!). Very clean and well stocked house, we cooked meals for 10 and loved sitting out by the pool. The pool house kitchen really helped with drinks and cleanup. Loved the hot tub on cool nights. All in all it was perfect for our extended family stay and made for a wonderful celebration!

Wow! A must stay for the entire family!!

My family had the absolute pleasure of staying in this amazing home. The space was more than enough to accommodate our large group. One of the best features for me was the pool house kitchen that made hanging out even better as no one was "stuck" in the kitchen away from all the fun. The pool was perfect and so refreshing after a hot day exploring Charlottesville proper. The owners are one in a million and will answer all your questions. A true gem and we will definitely be returning!
