Our weekend stay

We rented this home for a weekend trip to take the kids to Tweetsie. The home was very clean and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much. Definitely check this place out if you are planning to visit the Boone/Blowing Rock area.

Nice place.

Our group of 5 children and two adults had a nice stay. The pool table was a hit along with the deer that wandered by the home. Everything was clean and the hot water and heat worked very well despite the cold temperature outside. Thanks....

Beautiful place for vacation!

Excellent cabin for our family: plenty of room, basement play area with bathroom, lots of kitchen dishes, pots and pans and utensils. Fantastic location: walking distance to pool and to mountain stream, which was absolutely beautiful. We recommend adding a table for deck for outdoor eating and a roof over it. Community is full of gorgeous hiking trails good for all ages. You can have a wonderful vacation and never leave the community.

Beautiful place to rest and relax with family.

The Days Mountain Retreat is just that a retreat where we reconnected with family and friends. Powder Mountain is beautiful. The cabin has updated bathrooms and a newly remodeled kitchen. We loved to hike on the trails on the mountain. The weather was perfect. You can also go into Boone. The people are very friendly in town. Excellent breweries, wineries, restaurants and shopping in the area.

Amazing Experience

It was our first time in the woods as well as cabin experience, and Day's Mt. Retreat made it worthwhile. The facilities and amenities provided were no less than an expensive suite. With such a breathtaking view and natural beauty around, we would surely consider it as one of the most likely options to visit again. Lastly, the owner and the cleaning staff were quite helpful and friendly to serve a cherry on the cake!

Paradise in NC

We had a wonderful time at the house. There were 9 of us, so we packed the house out, but it was spacious enough to accommodate all of us easily. The only thing that we ran low on at all was toilet tissue, which could easily be picked up on a grocery run. Thank you for opening your house for us to use. We would definitely come back for another trip!!!

We had a great trip. My only concern was that the cabin was dusty and had cobwebs throughout.

Overall we had a great time. We were only there a short time due to getting in late on Friday, skiing all day Saturday and leaving Sunday. We would love to come back when wed can stay longer. The only thing that I would say negative is that the dusting wasn't great. There were lots of cobwebs. We would definitely love to stay again and would recommend it to others.

Aunt Camp

We (three aunts) took our nieces and nephews (ages 3 to 13) to Day’s Mountain Retreat. The Powderhorn Community was PERFECT, with deer, the pool, the clubhouse, a swimming hole, a creek, trails - everything you could want. Boone Park with its native garden and the kids’ rope course at Rocky Knob Park were also free, close, and popular with our crew. The house was also perfect. It was obvious that this has been a beloved family retreat for many years. We loved the picture collages on the wall. There are a lot of stairs, so I don’t think someone like my elderly father could hack that, but that is my only POSSIBLE thing I would say to be aware of. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate every meal at the house. The remodeled bathrooms were lovely. Every child wanted to use the “fancy shower” upstairs. The master bedroom is massive, and the sofa beds meant we had plenty of room to spread out at bedtime and quiet time. Thank you for sharing your home! All the way back to Chattanooga the kiddos asked if we could come again next year. They have a list of things we didn’t get to that they want to do next time. I’m hoping we can reserve next year soon!

We loved our stay at this cabin! It was super clean, well taken care of, and had everything we needed. We even saw deer right on the property, which was such a cool experience. The host was awesome — really friendly and quick to answer any questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Spent a quick weekend in the mountains with kids and the property was perfect! Brand new stocked kitchen for cooking, cozy indoor fireplace with split wood, beautiful woods views from the porch swing. Kids got a kick out of sleeping in the bunk beds, enjoying the game shelf and the ping pong. By far the biggest hit was the deer that came right up to the porch every morning and evening to eat deer corn that the owners provided. Was just a perfect cozy home for the weekend!

Great cabin in the woods! We had a great stay! There are deer right outside the cabin every day! The property was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is updated with plenty of cookware and untensils.

Stay in Powder Horn Mountain

Our family took a short weekend trip to Powder Horn Mountain and wanted something in the woods close to Boone. This cabin was exactly what we expected. Nice location in the middle of the community and had a great "cabin in the woods" feel. Owner was very responsive and the cabin was ready to go when we arrived.
