Perfect vacation spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Aubrey was fantastic to communicate with, she even checked in on us during our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. The house was clean, had everything we needed, was close to Boone/West Jefferson. We will definitely be staying again!

Retreat from the heat

This was our 3rd time at this property. Absolute quiet once you get there. Plenty of deer to watch. This time we had wild turkeys pay a visit too. If you like to star gaze, this is the place.

We had a great time with family and friends. Plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable. Property is just as it is listed. However, would definitely need 4 wheel drive for winter months.

Thanksgiving Getaway to the mountains

Hickory Lodge is a secluded gem with easy access to anywhere you’d want to go! We brought the family dog and met up with our college student to spend Thanksgiving together. We enjoyed a trek in the woods and hung out around the fire pit. House was clean and well-stocked. Would definitely come back. Thank you to the host for sharing your beautiful property with others!

July 4th

Very comfortable house - works well for a large group. The only draw back was the road up to the driveway- fortunately we didn’t meet anyone on the road since it’s not one I would want to back down.

I'm glad the place was a good fit for your group! We only have a few houses on the road so on the extremely rare occasion someone else is coming the person heading down just pulls into a driveway.

Amazing views!

Review We loved our stay at Aubrey's property! The driveway is definitely exciting but the house and views are spectacular! The house has everything you need- plenty of shampoo/conditioner/body wash, towels, blankets, box fans and ceiling fans, games, books, comfy beds, cozy covered porch to sit on and listen to the rain, and a great fire pit in the backyard to watch the sunset while you enjoy roasting marshmallows. Easy check in process, and Aubrey was available anytime we messaged. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Annual Christmas tree trip

Every year our family goes to the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. This cabin was absolutely beautiful and had all the comforts of home! We had a wonderful weekend. The driveway is very steep as we were told. Got a little scared but it was so worth it!

Family Tubing Trip

We loved the place and the seclusion of the home. It had rained a lot the week prior which made the driveway a bit difficult to get up. I would recommend a 4WD or AWD. The owner was great to stay in communication with us to make sure we got in and the place was well worth it when we got there. Everything in this cabin that we needed!

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves and that I was able to let you know about the driveway condition the day before your arrival. That is certainly why we've included the AWD/4WD year-round recommendation on the listing!

Perfect remote getaway

Had a great weekend during peak season to visit Boone and surrounding areas. The house was great and we had no problems. The host messaged us and was available if needed. The drive to the property is secluded and parts are steep, just to be forwarn. Driving through areas like that is nothing new for us so we didnt mind. Overrall it was great and our kids 3 and 6 loved it!
