SNOW TIME LIKE WINTER - Skiing at Oak and Gore Mountains, Snowmobiling, R&R


Come spend some time to relax and unwind or participate in all the outdoor activities that the Adirondack Mountains have to offer throughout the year. Whether your passion is skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding or just R&R - this is a great place to do it!

** We have 4 kayaks and personal flotation devices (PFDs), 2 pairs of snowshoes and bicycles (you bring your own helmets) for our guests enjoyment.

The cabin is a completely renovated, year round southern Adirondacks vacation rental in the town of Wells at Lake Algonquin. The living room is airy and bright and contains a flat screen TV with a Roku stick, and a variety of DVDs to choose from for your viewing pleasure. The kitchen contains all the amenities expected for a vacation stay. The front porch is a great place to sit back on the rocking chairs and take in the ambience of your surroundings. Included is all bedding, towels and WI-FI. There is also a washer and dryer for our guests use. Access to the lake is a very short walk away. There are many local hiking trails, skiing both downhill and cross-country are nearby and the snowmobile trails can be accessed a very short distance from the property. As a lifelong Adirondack resident, we will provide information on all activities, restaurants, where the 'locals' go and any points of interest.

House was very cute and comfortable, with easy access to snowmobile trails. Driveway was plowed nice and wide with plenty of room to load and unload snowmobiles from a four place snowmobile trailer.

Cute and very clean cabin. Hosts very responsive. Although there is no lake view (short walk to lake), the wonderful screened in porch made up for it. Nice quiet neighborhood with very friendly people. Nice large property. Fishing was difficult due to low water level, however lake is very pretty. My friend’s husband did catch from shore a nice 18” smallmouth bass weighing over 3 lbs. Enjoyed the deer visits.

Great weekend away!

My husband and I enjoyed our time at the cabin with our two young kids. We are already planning a return visit in warmer weather. There is a lot to do in the area and the views are gorgeous as you drive around and explore!

Wonderful Fall Getaway

Great location for skiing at Gore Mountain

We stayed here for a 3-day skiing vacation at Gore Mountain. The location and house were perfect for our needs. Less than a 1/2 hour, traffic-free, beautiful ride to the slopes.

Tom has lived in the southern Adirondack area his whole life and Loretta is from Long Island. So think along the lines of Green Acres - Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor (not to that extreme!) Despite our different backgrounds, we both share a love of the outdoors and nature. We hike frequently and every trail we recommend, we have done it! This picture of us was taken in October 2017 at the summit of Buck Mountain overlooking Lake George.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in Tom's family for many, many years. It has been completely renovated. Our goal is to provide a memorable getaway for all of our guests. We are very attentive to special requests and provide a 'Welcome Book' that is full of information on 'things to do' in the area. We are meticulous when it comes to the cleanliness of the cabin and we believe there is everything there that our guests would expect for a stay.

What makes this property unique

The property gets plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The property has lake rights and access to the public beach is very close. We offer kayaks, bicycles, snowshoes, hammock, fire pit and we supply the wood! No additional costs for these amenities. There are many bears inside the cabin. One of our previous guests even left us a count of every bear in every room!
