About this property

Americana Cabin /no 🐶 fee /no cleaning fee/kayaks/beach / fire pit

If you want to stay in a cute log cabin, in the woods, close to a quiet beach, the Americana is the place for you! It is 6 miles to the town of Lubec, which is just a small historic fishing town. The Americana has 2 bedrooms and one full bath with a tub/ shower combination. The first bedroom has a queen bed with brand new soft mattress and the second bedroom has two soft comfy twin beds with one trundle bed as well. We know times are hard right now so we work hard to provide the best value for your hard earned money. You will not find another property as well loved and well maintained at this price point. There is no nightlife and restaurants are limited so if you are looking to escape the big city life for a little while and connect with nature you will love it here. No pet fee, no weight limit and we have a very reasonable and flexible cancellation policy. All well behaved dogs welcome, up to 3 dogs per booking. Well behaved cats accepted upon request, too. Short hiking trails are located close by for exploring. The Americana is the first of three cabins, at the end of a long, gravel road (Lighthouse Lane) which is our private driveway. Each cabin is far enough apart and separated by mature trees to for privacy. To get to the beach you just follow a short path that is clearly marked to the beach. Guests staying at the last cabin are aware that they will see other guests walking the path to get to the beach. The location of the cabin is close to the end of the North Lubec peninsula and feels very remote. Reserve the perfect dates for next summer, now, because it fills up quickly with repeat guests. The Americana has 200mbps high speed internet and a smart tv with basic cable package. Bring your paddle board or use our kayaks and explore the shoreline. To use our kayaks you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. It is a short walk slightly downhill to the beach then back uphill when you are done so it is not suitable to bring your heavy kayaks. From the picnic table, at the beach, you will enjoy views of Moose Island, and beautiful Cobscook Bay. The Quoddy head lighthouse state park is only a 9.7-mile drive from the cabin. You can go on a whale watching tour (tours run from June to mid-September) from Lubec. On the tour you will see seals, eagles, and whales if you are lucky. Even if you don't see a whale the tour of the coast lines of neighboring islands is breathtaking. This cabin is a fully functional home with a full kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer, 1 full bath tub shower combo, and 2 bedrooms, one queen bed, 2 twin beds with a trundle, as well as basic cable TV and WIFI. It has a small open concept kitchen, dining, and living room, as well as a screened porch for enjoying the breeze in the evening . Outdoor chairs, charcoal grill, and a stone fire pit, are provided. This is not a beach for swimming. The current is too strong and the water is always too cold.

Lubec Cabin
It was a very nice cabin in a beautiful setting. Out of the way and quiet. Was able to see the sun rise from the beach. Wasn't a need for anything ( maybe a couple kitchen items).

Perfect
This property goes beyond expectation, its beautiful, quiet and Jamie & Damon thought of every detail, even providing toothbrushes, body wash etc, absolutely everything we would need. This was our first time renting a home for our vacation and they set the standards so high I am not sure we will ever find another as perfect.

We were looking for a summer house on a lake, but when we saw this location it was love at first sight! The first night that we stayed at the cabin we found the guest book and realized that our cabins were the summer getaway for many people already. We decided to continue to share this secluded, beautiful, place with others. Our goal is to provide a place for others to create happy memories.

Why they chose this property

Location! When we first arrived it looked like a moss covered forest and then we saw the wild, rocky beach. It is so quiet and private and the stars are so clear with no light pollution from any large city.

What makes this property unique

The bay is alive and is always changing. The colors, and the light are always different and exciting. Wildlife viewing is one of our favorite pass times. Eagles, seals, blue herons, huge pileated woodpeckers, and the occasional porcupine, can be seen.
