About the host
Hosted by Tom Glover

I grew up just 25 miles south of Milledgeville then moved to Atlanta where I spent the next 20 years. In 2006, my wife and I decided to move back to the area to raise our family. Since that time, I have been deeply involved in this community, working to make it a great place to live, work and play.
Why they chose this property
My grandmother and uncle both retired from Central State Hospital, so I've known about the campus all of my life. I moved to Milledgeville shortly after the hospital closed and saw first hand the devastation that losing 8,000 can do to a community. When the Central State Hospital Redevelopment Authority was created to help redevelop the campus, I immediately got involved and moved my technology support business to the campus. In 2018, when the authority began selling property on the campus, I purchased my office, this house and another duplex behind my office to do my part to redevelop the campus.
What makes this property unique
Milledgeville is rich in history and Central State Hospital is central to that history. This house, built in 1928 provides a unique opportunity to stay on the campus, learn more about the history and take advantage of the walking/cycling/driving self-guided tour or the trolly tours. The house is less than 2 miles from the vibrant downtown area with lots of restaurants, night life and shopping. Simply put, there are no other rentals that can match the experience and convenience that Asylum House offers.
