Thank you Alison. I hope you had a fantastic time over the holiday! We enjoyed having you as our guest and hope you choose our home for your travels again in the future!
Beautiful, clean home, just minutes from downtown Black Mountain. Our kids loved the cute “campfire” set up in the bunkbed room with plush pillows and blankets. Very functional kitchen with all needed utensils and cooking items. We would love to stay again next time we are in town!
Everything was wonderful and the fenced back yard was perfect for the dogs. Close to the pretty town which meant delicious restaurants and lots of shopping. Would stay again.
This was a wonderful property. It had everything we needed. It was very close to downtown Black Mountain easily walkable. What a beautifully decorated house! We would definitely stay here again. This was the best house I ever rented from VRBO.
Lovely home in Black Mountain! It had everything we needed and the host was helpful and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend.
The house was beautiful and super clean. It was in a great location with a nice fenced in yard. The owner was extremely helpful. Thank you for everything!
This was a great property for the whole family. Our toddler loved the playroom/bedroom and all the toys and books there were to enjoy. We loved the master suite and our dog loved the fenced-in yard. It's a little far to walk to downtown Black Mountain, but it's a short drive and an easy walk to the Montreat gate. We loved it so much, we'll be staying there again next yer.
Virginia's property was the perfect place for our family to stay together and enjoy our time. Beds we very comfortable, house was clean, and Virginia checked with us after check in to make sure everything was good. The location in the listing shows that it is much closer to Lake Tomahawk than it actually is, but everything else was perfect.
We really enjoyed our stay. We wanted to be close to town. While there was no yard and you are pretty close to the neighbors everyone you still felt like you had space. Only complaint was the garbage situation. Kitchen garbage cans were small and we had to ask for new outside garbage cans because bears kept going through them. The owners were quick to resolve.
I have stayed in many vacation properties over the years, and this property was by far the best one I’ve ever stayed in. The property was clean and perfect for our family, even our dogs, to enjoy Thanksgiving. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. We loved the Christmas decorations too! Virginia was great with communicating and taking care of all our needs. Thank us for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Extremely well equipped property and Virginia was so helpful and communicative when I hadn’t received the keys yet but we’re on the way. The house truly felt like home - you can tell Virginia poured her heart and soul into designing and furnishing the home! Our 15 month old really enjoyed the kids room with the bunk beds and toys and games!
You truly don’t need to bring anything, even kids stuff! But do bring a glass wine glass and/or lowball glass if you’re into wine or bourbon!
We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely, well stocked home in Black Mountain! Pictures were accurate (home actually seemed even bigger inside upon arrival) and home was spotless. Beds were very comfortable and host was helpful and responsive. Only about 20 min to Biltmore and loved the little downtown Black Mountain area. Definitely plan to come back!
There's a reason this placed is reviewed so highly. My family has been using VRBO for over 5 years and we usually stay in 2-3 places a year. Virginia's home is the cleanest, most organized and welcoming home we've ever experienced. Originally, we were attempting to stay either in Asheville or in a cabin in the woods. However, we couldn't find a place that was updated, priced reasonably, and kid/dog friendly. I'm so glad we opted to give Virginia's home a try which is located outside Asheville by about 20 minutes. We actually liked the area more than Asheville. It is so convenient to get into the city or the mountains. There's so many local parks, trails and shops to keep yourself busy all week. Virginia was helpful in giving a 2-3 page document on ideas of places to visit. It was helpful having a local's opinions.
Rent this place, you won't regret it!!!! I'm naturally lazy and I rarely write reviews, but Virginia deserves the credit for being an awesome host!!!
We loved our stay in this property in Black Mountain - such a cute town and super close to Asheville. The property was beautiful, clean and well stocked. I loved that everything was labeled - we knew exactly what things were and where to put them back. There was plenty of space and sleeping arrangements for our extended family and the open concept downstairs allowed us to spend quality time together. The only downside is that the garbage pickup is only 1x per week so we had tons of garbage during our 8 night stay. It would have been better if we had at least another garbage can to put the garbage in. We would definitely stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Virginia Gajewski
Three weeks after my husband and I married, the military assigned us to Germany. We moved to one of the loveliest villages, Kusel. We began our new lives together in a new country exploring new places. We learned to appreciate an unplanned journey.
Fast forward two moves, 3 babies, several deployments, and retirement from the military, we had an opportunity to move to Asheville. The minute our plane landed, we felt transported back to Kusel, Germany. Asheville had the same small mountains and rolling hills, vibrant music scene, delicious beer, and castle (the Biltmore), just as “our” village in Germany had. We have enjoyed making this place our chosen forever home over the last few years.
Why they chose this property
When hosting friends and family, there has been no shortage of unique places to discover. From hundreds of restaurants and local shops to hikes and views, Asheville and all the surrounding mountain towns have made it easy to find something everyone enjoys.
We hope you find this home a comfortable place where you can gather with loved ones and enjoy all this beautiful area has to offer.
We also hope you would recommend and choose our home the next time you travel to the area.
What makes this property unique
We are walking distance to the quaint town of Black Mountain that has several streets of darling local stores and fantastic restaurants. Asheville is less than 15 minutes away should you desire to do all the things Asheville offers.
