Girlfriends' Getaway

Our stay was a girlfriends’ long weekend getaway. There are some good features at this property & there are also a few things that could be improved upon to make it an even better stay. The living room was comfortable, especially the big sectional sofa, which made it a great spot for everyone to gather. The kitchen had sufficient pots & pans & cooking utensils we needed for cooking meals. The Kerig needed a good cleaning. Fortunately we brought a coffee maker as a back-up. More plates and mugs would be great for a larger group. There were some spices in a cabinet, which was unexpected. The master bathroom shower floor was slippery. Perhaps a textured mat could be provided. The curtain liner had mildew on it. The floors were dirty throughout and we saw a few spider webs. Hopefully, the cleaning service can pay more attention to detail. The myQ app to enter the house was not user friendly and took some time to figure it out. Our host, James, was stuck out at sea (after Helene & during Milton). We understand emergencies happen; but maybe a local backup source/person could have been available so James didn't have to be disturbed. 3 squeaky beds prevented restful sleep. Couples might be more irritated about that. Nicer towels & some blankets would be nice to have available in addition to the comforters on the beds.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my property. I do apologize for not being easily accessible like you mentioned above, I was stranded at sea due to the hurricane. I usually inspect my properties prior to arrival and unfortunately I couldn’t for your stay.

Home was comfortable for the family. Only thing to note is that the full baths are upstairs. Just a consideration for older couples renting. Process was easy and host was great.

James is a single parent of three awesome kids. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a business degree concentrated in Logistics and Transportation. I moved around the southeast after college to build experience, but came back home to Knoxville to start a family. Knoxville is a hidden jewel with a vibrant downtown, great University and easy access to the Smoky mountains and many lakes.

I’m very involved with my kids as I coach my sons travel baseball team, help out with my daughters softball team and I’m always on the go between softball, baseball and cheerleading. I have my kids 50/50 so when I don’t have my kids I am passionate about hosting my properties for others to enjoy Knoxville. My hobbies include all things sports, working out, going to the lake and traveling.
