We liked the location a lot! Our grandkids loved the park and the beach. The cabin was very homey. Loved all of the amenities! The grandkids loved the hot tub. The reason for a 4 star was no ac it was stuffy at night.
This was a great house. The lake access was about a mile down the road and the only bummer about staying here. It looks close, but it’s all private property across the street.
House could use a good in-depth cleaning. Maintenance needed on deck / painting. Repair blinds. All in all we made the best of it and had a great time.
A few old friends got together for some golf and fishing. We had the amenities of home at the home we rent in Lake Almanor West. I would definitely stay again.
Perfect cabin for a family get away! Wonderful airplane theme with linens, towels and essentials. Clean, across the street from lake view. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy Lake Almanor 💜💜

Steve, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We provide directions for lake access on our listing; you only have to take a right turn out of the driveway and drive until you spot the sign that says "boat launch". You can also turn left out of the driveway and go down until you reach the parking lot next to the lake.
-We're sorry to hear that a bear may have gotten into the trash you set out. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to prevent this from occurring though we hope that you were not threatened by the animal's presence. One way to mitigate this risk is to take the trash out the morning of pick up.
Thank you for your insight, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!

Cozy Cabin
Cabin was cozy. Bed arrangement was perfect for our group of 7. Hot tub was nice in the snow. Walls are thin so you can hear everything (snoring, kids waking up early, etc.) but nothing that would keep us from going back.
Great location close to the lake, but had to travel to a nearby beach to actually access it. Right next to golf course but you wouldn’t even know it. Peaceful and quiet. Relaxing stay. House pretty much matched the description except that there was a foosball table , not a pool table. Overall we were very happy with it.

Hi Michelle, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: - Thank you for your review and for choosing our property for your stay. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful and quiet location close to the lake and golf course.- Regarding your comment about the pool table, we want to clarify that the pool table was removed from the property and listing several months ago, well before your reservation was booked. We take our listing accuracy very seriously and strive to ensure that all amenities are accurately depicted and advertised.- While we wish we could offer direct lake access or a better view of the golf course, these aspects are beyond our control. Our property offers a relaxing stay with convenient proximity to the lake and golf course, but for direct lake access, renting a house on the lake would be more suitable.- We appreciate your feedback and are glad you were overall happy with your stay. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

Nice stay in a beautiful lakeside community.Driving in you'll see some amazing looking houses, so you could be a little disappointed in what you see here, but the inside is very nice and has everything you need for the stay. The location is great and and just a few minutes from the paces you will want to go. The pool table was a big hit! You can see the lake but you cant cross through the private lots to reach it so its a 15min pleasant walk down to the private boat launch(which you have access to - this is a big plus for boat/toy owners!) Weather was amazing.I did mark it down a few items. 1) Zero communication available with the property manager. Its all handled through an online service. Attempts to contact the manager went nowhere. Luckily nothing happened, 2)Place really needs a deep cleaning. It was clean enough but you could see the cleanings are very superficial. 3) The hot tub is a 2-3 person model but fine. It needs more regular service. A good stay!

Cabin has good potential but lacks maintenance
The property has a nice layout and location, but there were a number of details thatv will keep us from staying there again. Spider webs through out the house, overflowing garbage when we arrived, leaking toilet downstairs, dirty barbeque grill, missing essential condiments including sugar and salt among others, wrong coffee filters, and last but not least: critters inside the walls which can be rectified by adding covers to the vents. I hope the owners are aware of the poor maintenance of their property.

Hi Angela, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
-We regret that your experience did not meet your full expectations. Our cleaners are currently performing a deep cleaning while the house is unoccupied.
-Unfortunately, we have encountered issues with bears spreading trash if it is left out for more than fifteen minutes. Consequently, unless the trash is taken out at the exact time the trash collector arrives on Monday morning, it may be missed. We are in the process of purchasing bear-proof garbage cans to resolve this issue.
Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand our guests' experiences and identify areas for improvement.

Stay was OK
I would overall rate our stay a 3.5 if I could. Nothing was horrible, but a few things could improve to make things better for the next group. Although it did say there was a gravel driveway, more communication that the driveway could be difficult to pull into would have been appreciated. We had to put on chains in the dark, so that we could get up the first part of the driveway that was covered in ice. Also, there were steps made of snow to get to the outdoor wooden staircase, but then the wooden steps were covered in ice too. We ended up chipping away the ice on the steps so that it was possible to safely enter the property. (Snow and ice have an inherent danger involved, but we did have a serious injury regarding the "snow" steps) When we got to the unlit front door on our first night, the door was unlocked and ajar, so we did have to inspect the place for safety prior to allowing our children in. A few smaller things we noticed, such as a shotgunned beer can that was tossed outside the snow, or not all of the remotes having batteries in them. The cleaner that was used in the cabin left an odd/off-putting smell, but it either faded or we got used to it throughout the trip. We loved the area, had a great time overall, but I would look for a different place to stay next time. A few improvements could easily be made to make this place a solid 4.
We had a family reunion. Nice updated property. Shared good times and made life long memories. We would rent again if our travels bring us back to the area.
We enjoyed the downstairs of this property the most. It was spacious enough for 4 adults to do what we wanted and come together when we wanted. Only 1, 2 or 3 of us went in the hot tub at any one time. 4 would be too cozy for non-couples. The kitchen was easy to use. We enjoyed a walk in the neighborhood but there were no lake accesses that we could find. We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this property.
