The property welcomes pets, which was a big plus for us. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable king‑size mattresses, and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We arrived during a huge snowstorm with about 20 inches of snow, and the snowplow came at night to clear the driveway, which we really appreciated. Judi was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Thank you.
We had a wonderful time! The house was beautiful and the host provided us with helpful information about the property as well as what the area had to offer. Looking forward to staying there again in the future.
What a beautiful house! Honestly it was hard to believe that the view and surroundings could be as gorgeous as these photos, but I was speechless when I first drove up to the property, and was mesmerized by the mountains for our entire visit. The hot tub was glorious, the kitchen was great and big, making it easy for cooking and hanging out. We were looking for a place for 10 people, 3 couples and 4 single people. and this definitely felt small for that. 2 couples and 4 single people work, but there's just not a lot of floor space for other mattresses even if you bring one. But we made it work! But all the beds including the extra mattresses were very comfortable.Thank you for such a great experience!
The property was well maintained and very clean. Accurately described and a very inviting space to host our family. The kitchen was excellent for multiple cooks and the island seated everyone to enjoy our meals together. The instructions for the hot tub and sauna were well laid out and what a fantastic treat after climbing Cascade mountain! Our hosts were extremely helpful and very lovely, responsive and thoughtful. The bedding and sleep arrangements were excellent after long days of hiking. Many thanks and can’t wait to be back!
This was a great spot to stay a little outside of lake placid for ironman weekend! Enjoyed the views of whiteface and the AC available in the summer. Thanks!
The house was in great shape and is in a wonderful neighborhood. The property manager was very kind and made the entire process easy. One of the neighbors was a little nosy when we were outside but it wasn’t a big deal. 10/10 would stay again
The view of the mountains from this property was amazing. The location is close to many attractions. Whiteface Mountain , Ausable Chasm, High Falls Gorge, Lake Placid, and Wilmington are a few. There were many hiking spots that were close by. The Adirondack Wildlife Center is right next door. We enjoyed learning about the wolves and other animals in the rehab facility. We loved hearing the wolves howl from time to time.
The rental home was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Great place surrounded by nature...
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in the Adirondacks and our stay at this house. The best parts were the deck that has an unobstructed view of Whiteface mountain (we could watch the weather patterns and saw the most gorgeous sunsets from the deck and hot tub) and the very cool howling of the wolves every evening from the wildlife refuge next door (that was so cool/spooky/unexpected and we just loved it, felt like we were truly "away from it all"). Other perks were the open floorpan, wrap around porch/deck and the entire place was very clean.
A couple of cons: there was no gas grill and there were no implements for the charcoal grill (brush, shovel for coals); In the downstairs bedrooms there was no furniture except beds (no place to put your clothes except in the closet, not even a chair); there is only a 2 burner stove; and we had 8 guests (the house accommodates) however there were only 7 chairs at both the outdoor table and around the fire pit. We made due but these things seemed like obvious oversights.
A big plus: the owners are incredibly nice and super responsive. That makes a big difference and they truly made renting and organizing our trip a pleasure.
This house is a great value for the location and the many amenities.

We are so glad you enjoyed the home there are two extra burners in the kitchen right above the microwave cabinet and the reason why we don't have furniture downstairs and so people can put mattresses on the floor we're glad you thought the house was clean and organized also we do not allow gas grills because they're not allowed by our insurance company and the Charcoal grills are cleaned out after each visit when I guest leaves The next time you come give me a call in advance and we will do whatever we can to make your day better as always thank you
Cons, which didn’t deter me from giving five stars:
* Not shown in pics is a neighbor, another rental. You are separated by a little land, but you can plainly see them, and they, you. The house basically shares a driveway w/ a dirt road leading to a parking lot for the wildlife refuge/a fishing access trail. If you’re sitting near the front door, you’re going to see cars pulling in/out often. Although you do feel sort of tucked away, it’s not total privacy or seclusion.
* We put sheets on the couches because we brought dogs. We probably would have done this even if not required because the couches are worn. They’ve been used, obvi, and that’s ok! But if you’re hyper-aware of the germs/dirt/buildup left on fabrics, you’ll want to cover them, too.
* If your pets bolt, bring a gate to keep the porch enclosed. A loose dog would definitely be in danger bc the high-speed road is right there.
* We gated off the basement, too, where the rooms are carpeted, to avoid our dogs smelling/adding to previous potty accidents.
* Lots of bugs; so many bites. Bring spray repellent & itch relief.
* You’re going to have to do some clean-up upon departure; prepare for a checklist of your expected contributions to the turnover of the house.
And so many pros:
* The view is unreal: uninterrupted Whiteface; no humans, houses, roads, etc. in sight; best view from a kitchen sink I’ve ever seen.
* The wildlife refuge is a 2 minute walk away and such a perk.
* So much to do right nearby: trails, gorgeous river, fishing, climbing, twisty-turny roads.
* Wilmington, tiny little town, is 5 mins down the road; good for essential supplies, restaurants, Whiteface access road.
* Lake Placid (charming, tourist friendly, far less secluded) is 20 mins away.
* No baths here, but the showers/water pressure were the tops.
* No shortage of kitchen utensils. We made pie, cake, sushi, breakfast every morning. Their kitchen had nearly everything we needed; we over-packed. Bring your fancy knife, a nonstick pan, and you’re golden.
* Sauna worked perfectly; hot tub worked perfectly.
* Fire pit was great.
* Beds were super comfy.
* Recycling!
* The house has clearly been treated well/been well-maintained. I appreciated the many reminders from the owners to show the property respect, as you would your own home. Prior renters treating the home respectfully, properly + the owners maintaining it, too = totally evident.
* Still thinking about that view... magnifiqnue!
Needed big place for group of women/girls headed to wedding shower in Keeseville NY. This house was perfect for our group & the area is full of fun thinking to do for all ages!!! Might just make it an annual excursion!!!
This was a great place to stay so clean and updated. Close to lake placid and the view is stunning. Communication with the renters was excellent too. Will be back to this one for sure.
The property was beautiful just like in the pictures. Communication with the host was great she was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The views are just breathtaking. Thank you for a great stay!!
Great property. Plenty big for our group of 7. Beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing. The kitchen seating is great for visiting. Was a treat to have hot tub and sauna. Was perfect for our first post-COVID lockdown trip.
The house was perfect! Clean, organized and well stocked with everything you need. Close to hikes and trails, Lake Placid and the small town of Wilmington. The view from the house was breathtaking! We will definitely be back!!!!!
This was a great place to stay with a great view. Centrally located in the Lake Placid / Wilmington area for easy access to many activities. The only reason I rated a 4 is the place could use a quieter a/c (mini split) trash cans in the rooms, and light bulbs that actually make light. Other than that the house is nice and roomy, we had 10 people.

Wonderful home and property! Home owners were easy to reach and quick to answer any questions or concerns! Very comfortable, clean and home with amazing views!
Great family weekend getaway. Lookout Mountain Chalet provided an amazing view of Whiteface Mountain. Four bedrooms with TV’s, 3 bathrooms, a hot tub and sauna... what’s not to love ? Was not able to utilize the outdoor fire pit due to weather/time restraints, but it looked incredibly inviting. Short drive to Lake Placid . Overall it was exactly what we needed. Thanks Todd and Kim !
