A secluded rural cottage in lovely gardens minutes from the beach

Built in 1911, fully renovated Fleurieu Retreat offers a real chance to unwind in fresh country air and a serene environment. Immediately beyond is a tree studded valley with majestic river gums through which the farm operates and into the hills. Beautiful rural walks elicit peace and clarity of thought yet the banter of 20-30 bird species going about their daily business enables you to mindfully return to the present if you need or you may wish to further retreat into your replenishment through yoga or massage which we can bring to you by arrangement with local skilled technicians.

If, however you feel the need to revert back to activity, just a mere 10km away are the beach with a variety of water activities; cafes and restaurants; cinema, live music, steam train; horse drawn tram; galleries shops and rural city activities.

Details of all these activities are available, we can assist with bookings for surf lessons, fishing, boating on the sea viewing marine dwellers, or on riverine tours down the (petitioned for UNESCO world heritage) Coorong system where the Murray River system ends and enters the sea or on her paddle steamer; or perhaps wildlife walks day, evening; or night might interest you or you may walk on a southern portion of our 1,200km Heysen trail.

Peace and tranquility

Very welcoming. A local produce charcuterie board on arrival with Champagne, Fresh locally made pralines, and breakfast available in the refrigerator - home made muesli, local yoghurt, honeycomb, eggs and tomato from their farm. The interior was simple and modern, and completely spotless, despite a warning from Pip that sometimes wildlife can creep in or be transported in on the firewood, I look forward to retuning to this beautiful house and garden, for a longer stay CM

Stunning house and gardens

Beautiful house 10 min from Victor Harbor. Only a short drive into town but the serenity of the gardens makes it feel a world away. Lovely host made sure to make us feel welcome with a delicious welcome platter and champers. She even let my son help feed a calf. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. The star of the property has to be the garden and outdoor space. So calm and tranquil. Will definitely return and would recommend.

Cosy country cottage with modern style

The cottage is recently renovated and situated in a lovely garden on a farm. The house is very comfortable inside, like a home away from home. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.
