Really nice to stay in a mature forest with lots of wildlife. Nearby attractions and swimming lake were great for the kids.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The new couch was a nice addition - property was very clean and we were very comfortable in the place. Great location close to all the parks and highway. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great cabin!
Loved the cabin and amenities. Set up a windy road off 664 which is main road to old mans cave. Great location halfway between 33 and parks/hiking.

The only downside about our stay is that we didn't stay longer! The cabin was welcoming everytime we entered it- and it was near difficult to leave each time.
We will definitely be reserving this cabin again in the future!
This cabin was fantastic, better than advertised. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 for cleanliness was the bedroom toilet was clogged and there was hair in the hot tub.

My fiancé and I have stayed at other cabins at Hocking Hills, and I have to say that this cabin Hemlock Haven was by far our favorite cabin! We will be back to this cabin. My favorite part was having a deep tub and having privacy outdoors, the elegance of the wood interior was beautiful.

Jackie, We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us at the Hemlock Haven cabin and loved the couch! We appreciate all the feedback and hope to host you again in the future. HHCR
The cabin itself is beautiful and you do feel like you're hanging high up in the trees! Well stocked kitchen with appliances, plates cutlery and anything you might need. There are definitely some things that need attention throughout the cabin, but the main complaint from everyone was about the pillows. (Limited per bed and they aren't supportive.) Overall, a great stay in at the Hemlock Haven cabin.

We couldn't get the door to unlock, called several numbers in our "Welcome Packet" and nobody returned my call. My family was stressing out, 18 month old crying as we were sitting on the front porch. We went to the Office and a younger guy came back to help with the door. Ended up being dead batteries to the key pad. He was very nice about it! I'm still waiting for a 40.00 refund concerning a billing error, different issue. We loved the cabin itseld and amenities. Our first trip to Hocking Hills and already want to go back.
Listing was accurate. Great space! Good for single family w/ kids or 2 couples. Bedroom/Loft upstairs is great to throw all the kids. Outdoor space is fantastic. Downsides: only half the jets in the tub work. Outdoor shower is inoperable. Clean the grill REAL good before using (grates are rusty)

Great location!
The cabin was nice and comfortable! Clean and the beds, deck, and furniture were nice! The location was perfect as far as proximity to Ash and Old Mans Cave! Captain Ron’s had a good homemade coney dog and ice cream! The only complaints are that the hot tub wasn’t super clean ( might be a filtering issue) and we had to listen to bulldozing for a while the first day. However, I’m sure if we would have asked him to stop, he would have. A crockpot and hairdryer would have been nice to have:). The drop off into the ravine by the fire pit would keep me from bringing small kids to this particular cabin. I would stay here again! We’ve stayed in HH multiple times and this is probably my favorite cabin thus far.

Megan & Guests,
We are so happy to hear that Hemlock Haven is your FAVORITE cabin in Hocking Hills! Hocking Hills Cabins & Resort location is perfect for guests! Close to the area activities and restaurants.Thank you for all of your suggestions - we appreciate the feedback! We apologize you had any concerns on the hot tub - as noted in our welcome books, housekeeping cards and additional postings - we ask guests to reach out to us with any concerns so they can be promptly addressed. We look forward to hosting your group again in the future. HHCR
Beautiful cabin in a great location, close to the Hocking Hills trails and Logan. The cabin was perfect for our family of four. Plenty of room to hang out in the cabin with the fireplace and hot tub to keep cozy. We hiked all the Hocking Trails and hiked around the property to the small cave there. How can you beat a cabin with a private cave! (Which BTW, maybe provide some directions in the cabin on how to find the cave, we only made it from reading through the guest log books).
Only small complaint would be that the AC/Heater unit is right outside the master bedroom so you can hear it turn on and off. Just keep it in mind f you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, this cabin is amazing!

Decent Cabin Stay
The cabin was nice. We liked the convince of being near the highway and close to hiking trails. Check In / Check Out was an easy process.
However, the cabin is advertised as being on 95 acres. While this is correct, there are several cabins in a row quite close. We could see other people at the neighboring cabins when hanging out on the deck/hot tub.
There were a few cleanliness issues. For example, the coffee pot grounds had not been cleaned out, the dishwasher had a full load of clean dishes that were not put away and the hot tub water smelled really bad.
If you stay here, make sure your bring paper towels and toilet paper. The “starter packet” was a paper towel roll with a dozen sheets and a half roll of toilet paper.

Christina, Thank you for your feedback on Hemlock Haven. Yes, this is one of 12 cabins that sits on our 95 acres in the heart of Hocking Hills. Guests do receive the starter set and are encouraged to bring additional with them for their stay as noted in all the welcome letters, arrival messages and our website. We apologize for overlooking the coffee grounds and have noted with housekeeping. Guests are also encouraged to reach out to us for any concerns during their stay so we can resolve as soon as possible. The hot tub is filled with well water which may have a stronger sulfur smell to some guests. Again, we appreciate all your feedback and hope to host you again in the future.

I would not recommend this cabin
The view was amazing very quiet and peaceful. The reviews were overall good so we decided to book big mistake. The reviews you read about the couch, pillows and mattresses being worn out are absolutely on point they were horrible all of them needs to be replaced!! To charge someone that kind of money you would except decent furniture. There is no washer and dryer which was our fault for not noticing, but I’ve never stayed in a place that doesn’t have one it’s so basic I just assumed so lesson learned. The fireplace in master bedroom doesn’t work we had to buy batteries for the TV remotes. There was food under the couch and the pull out bed is broke almost couldn’t get it to go back in!! The kitchen didn’t have any baking dishes so we had to buy some. There was one positive the gentleman that shoved the walkways and treated them with salt was nice. The hot tub cover handle needs replaced. I would not stay there again for free!

Kimberly,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the service provided by our team. However, we’re truly sorry to learn that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests, and your comments regarding the furniture, cleanliness, and amenities are concerning. We appreciate your honesty and will be reviewing these matters with our team to ensure improvements are made. Had we been made aware of these issues during your stay, we would have addressed them immediately. We do note in our welcome letters, to reach out to us asap with any concerns or items that may need extra attention. Often times pillow/mattresses are subjective and hard to get perfect for all guest requests. The couch was replaced as it was on back order and the fireplace requires a switch to be turned on to use (we just tested and it worked great).
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance our cabins, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with the high-quality experience we aim for. If you’d like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Best regards- HHCR
This is our 4th cabin that we have rented. Cabin was clean and well stocked. I think that the people who own it should come and stay in it to see that it does need some maintenance. Ceiling fans in both main room and master bedroom rock back and forth and make continuous noise. We did not use the upstairs bedroom as it was the two of us. Peak windows have not been cleaned in quite some time. Cabinet under the sink and several other need to be adjusted to close correctly. Drawer in refrigerator needs fixing. Outside grill needs a light on it as we were cooking at 7pm was dark out and could not see anything on the grill had to use our phone flashlight. No closets or dressers to put clothes or hang up jackets. Couch has a spot that you sink to the floor. Found a guy at our hot tube when we were just getting dressed to go in it. We were not informed that anyone was going to be there and would have been nice to have a heads up or knock on the door to let us know. Saying all this it did not keep us from enjoying the cabin or time in Hockinghills.

Rick, Thank you so much for all of your feedback. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cabin. We appreciate the additional improvement items for the cabin and have relayed them to our team. In our letters to guest we let them know they may see one of our team members checking hot tubs and grounds work during their stay. We do check hot tubs daily at all of our cabins. We hope to host you again! HHCR
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and the appliances including the grill were in good working order. Our three complaints (why 4 stars and not 5) involve the master bed and the hot tub. The master bed needs a new mattress. It’s hard and lumpy. We woke each night several times and had aching backs each morning. My husband tried sleeping on the sectional in the living area but the support is gone (likely too many kids jumping on it over the months or years). Finally, the hot tub has either grit or sand in it that need to be cleaned out. However, despite these issues we appreciated the appliances were clean and in good working order. No issues with the fridge (the food stayed cold and the ice maker works!, the coffee pot (worked just fine), the oven (clean and functional), and microwave worked fine. We never used the dishwasher. The kitchen facet likely needs to be looked at; for some reason the water pressure for the kitchen faucet was VERY low. All other faucets, shower heads, and toilets were in good working or and had no issues with water pressure. Our view was beautiful and we appreciated the mostly private yard. Overall, we will keep this property in mind for our future trips to the Hocking Hills area.

We apologize the bed didn't seem to be the best fit for your stay, as beds are difficult because everyone has different preferences. We encourage guests to reach out to our team with any questions or concerns during their stay so we have the opportunity to remedy asap. We hope to host you again in the future! HHCR
I recently stayed in this cabin with six girlfriends for my bachelorette party. It was AMAZING! The location is close to a few breweries and wineries, Walmart, and outdoor excursions. I was able to easily get in touch with the property owners regarding the power outage when we first arrived (due to a car accident on the main road). The property was clean and had a book of information for us which helped in deciding where to go. I will definitely be booking this cabin again in the future! Perfect for all ages and types of groups!
