Quiet location with great view

The property's location and lighthouse view made it very appealing. I think the house has plenty of room with a very good layout. I do think it could use some updating and TLC.

Disappointing

House was clean but not well kept. Carpet was bare in some spots and the walls were marked up throughout the house. We were prepared with our own linens but had to go out and buy new pillows because of the sad shape of those provided.

Small townhome, steep stairs, blocked view

The home was smaller and darker than it appeared on the pictures. The living room futons are not easily converted so using that area as a living room during the day is not feasible if used to sleep. The plumbing was a problem while there- many toilet clogs and a slow shower drain which was maintenanced. Everything is in need of painting/updating. The pool is much smaller than pictured but we enjoyed it. You are on the channel but views from the home are obstructed by other buildings in the back of the property. You need to be out on the dock to see a sunrise. The dock area is nice, well kept with great access to kayaking. Take a large carpet for the front door. You have a hose to remove sand but the parking lot is rocks and sand so it is difficult to contain the sand. A large carpet inside and taking a wet swifter for the first floor helps.

The kids love the pool and Memorial Park, we love the proximity to kayak rental access, the view of the lighthouse, and watching he Canadian geese population that lives in the vicinity. We have been coming to Chincoteague/Assateague since 1993, and we have stayed at Lighthouse Estates more than at any other place on Chincoteague. We've already reserved for summer 2023!

Property was feasible for what we needed. Futons we’re not comfortable but beds were. Pool was great. Not a bad walk to Veterans Memorial Park. Beautiful view of lighthouse. Quiet area other than dogs in next unit. Could’ve been a little cleaner. I don’t understand why tenant is expected to clean before leaving when we pay a hefty cleaning fee. Maintenance of trash and refrigerator is understandable but vacuuming should be part of the cleaning service we pay for. My opinion. I did take all the utensils out of the drawer and cleaned, as the tray was gross. I don’t like eating with utensils that come from a dirty drawer. Otherwise, owner was very responsive, even brought batteries for the remote and a jug of water for the cooler. We enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing Week at Lighthouse Estates

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As usual, our rental unit was clean and ready for us when we arrived. As we were there early in the season (early May) the pool had not yet been cleaned. Since we had relatively warm weather, this was a disappointment. The pool did not have a ‘pool closed’ sign on it, and there were folks swimming in the filth.

Birthday Weekend

The trip was great! We ended up being able to check in early which was nice because we were down for a birthday weekend and were able to decorate before my fiancé got there. The house was clean, pictures online matched the house, there was even a bag on the table filled with miscellaneous things. All of the beds were comfortable and clean. We also had our dogs with us. There is plenty of grass area to walk the dogs. And there’s also a pier across the street that the guys fished on. House is very local to the little neighborhood with shops, restaurants and what not. Any questions I had they messaged back within 30min or less, as long as their office was open. Good place to stay.

Good location and views, good value, but needs some work

We loved the lighthouse view and easy location - close to the wildlife refuge and some of our favorite businesses on the island. Could use a deep cleaning, new carpet and fresh paint (and a ladder for the bunk bed). There’s a mildew smell and the walls are dirty and dinged up. And be sure to book on the rental agency site to save hundreds in fees, as they don’t manage your stay through VRBO. Also was annoyed that WiFi and cable didn’t work for the first 3 days (seems like due to nonpayment, based on the error code)…during the hurricane when we were stuck inside. That all said, the price is good for a pet-friendly condo with water views/access.

Clean place but not vast views as described

The check in process was not very clear, I read through my communications and I didn’t see specifically where to go, I had to manage. I got the code to the place, but did not say when it activated. The place was a good option, the view of the lighthouse was decent but the rest of the view was a parking lot with a giant dumpster in it. Kitchen and rooms a good size, just wish checking in was better.

The accommodations were just right for 5 adults. The queen size bed was so comfortable! My family enjoyed one day at the pool as the weather was so good to us we were blessed with going to the beach during our stay. We were short on coffee mugs but I notified our staff and they quickly responded and we came home to find 5 new coffee mugs on our kitchen table. We have stayed at this location before 2 years ago and highly recommend! Great value.
