Quiet cottage in a peaceful setting with great views and a lovely afternoon breeze. Close enough to be in the action but far enough to not be caught up in it. 15 mins from Byron, 30 minutes to Ballina airport and 40 minutes to Gold Coast airport.
Set on 15 acres of rainforest . Overlooking a dairy farm and coffee plantation on the other side. Fabulous sunset views, lots of wildlife, very quiet, lots of flowers and song birds. A perfect romantic getaway or writers retreat.

A perfect stay. Wonderful cottage that is the perfect home-away-from home in a stunning location. Extremely well equipped with everything you could need.
Lissa is the ultimate host,Gave us great directions and a phone number should we have any trouble. The House was squeaky clean and so bright and airy. It it had a wonderful view of a farm and the tropical trees and plants all around with climbers over the deck. We could have been in Provence or Italy. The fridge had a large amount of Ice, milk, butter and quite a fully stocked larder of essentials. The bird life is amazing, with wildlife evident.Everywhere in the house are beautiful sculptures made in Glass that Lissa has made herself as a very competent ArtistWe aer already planning our next stay.My wife and I cannot recommend this place more highly.
Cute little cottage with everything you need for a self sufficient stay. Nice and close to Bangalow (5mins) and Byron (20 mins)but far enough away to be a totally peaceful and quiet escape.
Possibly one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed at. Everything was thought of - the kitchen was so well equipped. The bath surrounded by candles was wonderful. The bed was comfy and given the unusual chilliness there were a number of heaters. Three outdoor areas for relaxing, gorgeous peaceful surrounds and artworks on every wall. Can’t wait to go back
Beautiful property in the Byron hinterland. Peace and quiet all around. Lovely valley views. Beautiful birds greeted us daily. Great place to relax and unwind.
We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous little cottage. We had perfect weather which was fortunate, however, we would have been just as happy staying at home looking out over the hillside, listening to the birds and the cows. The sunsets were sensational. The house itself had everything we needed , perfectly cosy for winter nights. We would love to return.
We absolutely adore Lissa’s beautiful house and property. This was our second stay and we are really hoping to book again soon. Picturesque views from outdoor living spaces and all rooms make it hard to leave even for a day trip - we were always planning to get back for the last of the afternoon sunset. We had the most comfortable, peaceful, and idyllic holiday.
This is my second visit to this delightful cottage. The rolling green hills and mooing cows provide the perfect setting for R&R. It's convenient to Byron. Bangalow, and Federal. Lissa is a delightful host.
Peaceful surroundings with rolling hills. We felt at home straight away and our labradoodle loved the yard. We did lose a few 'glow in the dark' balls in the 2 small fully landscaped pond areas - so if you see a small glow at night then don't be alarmed. The home was lovely and comfortable with everything we needed. And it was just a short drive to Byron Bay and Bangalow. Loved our stay and loved Coorabell so much that we have now added this area to our short list of retirement destinations.
Perfect! Our 5 night stay at Lissa's beautiful little cottage has set off an existential crisis. Why am I living in a city?! I want to live here! This little piece of paradise set in the rolling hills of Coorabell, is a haven of tranquility and natural beauty. The cottage is delightful. Beautifully designed to capture the views, the sunlight and shade if you need it. The verandah is a glorious spot for a long, lazy al fresco lunch with loved ones. The kitchen is very well stocked with lovely crockery and cooking utensils. The bathroom is large and lush. The second bedroom has an excellent work desk. The master bedroom bed was soft and dreamy. Our overall experience here was .... perfect. The cottage is not new and shiny. It is well lived in and loved. The sort of place you can sink into the comfortable lounge, throw your feet up, grab a good book, a glass of wine and stay there for days. Or you can sit pondering the lovely artwork. I wish I didn't have to share all this ... because in truth I'd like to keep this little escape gem all to myself!
Beautiful Property but Steep, Muddy paths and Smelly water
The Cottage is beautiful and just the right size and location for me. Amazing flowers inside and out. Working BBQ and oven and dishwasher... The linen was clean and plentiful. Everything one might want in the kitchen was present. Art! However, the water really stank and I felt stinky every time I got out of the bath or shower for the first two weeks, after that the smell did lessen. Also, the tv didn't work properly. The driveway was pretty hazardous when I first arrived but after a few extra days of Torrentially-heavy rain, it became unusable. Unfortunately the host was away overseas and couldn't address my text messages. We did come to an agreement and she refunded me 250 because I slipped and fell several times getting down under the house to the laundry and up to my car. I had to park at the top of the property and walk up and down the extremely steep slope on the loose gravel, in the pouring rain. I found that the beautiful cut flowers and unique ceramics and art, as well as the lovely garden were extremely pleasant and the bed I used was very comfortable. I was glad I could turn off the wifi whenever I didn't want it on. I was very glad for the filter on the kitchen sink. The host has told me she will repair the driveway and put in some pavers so it is not so unsafe to use the home during the rainy season. I hope so, because it is a lovely place and I was sorry I was in so much pain on so many days. it did colour my experience of the home.

Re the water - prior to your stay we had the terrible Cyclone ‘Alfred’ and lost power for days. The Cottage is on Tank Water. If the power is out, the water pump doesn‘t work, and water pools in the pipes for the duration of the power outage. When the power comes back on, the water runs brown for about a minute. This is probably what you experienced. The tank water is filled straight from the rain. It is very good, and does not smell.
The TV was working fine until you arrived. The drivewaay had work done on it the day before you arrived. Obviously the torrential water disturbed the gravel. I have since done more work on the driveway, with more planned.
I try to make everything as comfortable as possible for my guests. However I can’t control the weather, and sometimes the elements disrupt the plans of mice and men.
The property was quaint and tranquil with several places to sit and relax to enjoy the view. The bathroom was pretty with sweet lead light windows and candles. The kitchen and lounge was comfortable but we spent most of the time enjoying the view from the deck. My dog managed to find a tick so be wary on the property. Once we’d worked out the roads, it was quite convenient to Byron, Bangalow, and federal. We hope to come back soon.
Gorgeous home and location. Views of lovely garden and surrounding farmland from every window. To die for wraparound balcony where we sat many an hour. Very comfortable beds and quality linens provided. We really enjoyed the serenity of the hinterland and the beautiful home. Definitely want to book again soon.
Beautiful property in quiet rural setting in Byron Bay hinterland. Easy access by car to Mullumbimby, Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. very comfortable older house. well-equipped kitchen and lots of lovely extras - candles, rugs.
Lovely place with everything you need and more. Plenty of nooks for reading & enjoying the country view all the comforts you need to enjoy your stay
Communication with hosts easy and pleasant.
Hosts went over and above to help
Only drawback was the steep driveway
Not only was the location tranquil, but the layout of the house and decor was open, airy and had me mesmerized. I love that there were doors and windows almost 360 degrees around the house. No traffic noise. Lots of birds and cows. And close to everything. Just what we needed
