BUSBEES RETREAT is your dream vacation home! Unwind in this spacious, cozy lakeside retreat located on the private side of Lake Anna! This 6,000 sq ft. estate on acreage is beautifully decorated and has all brand new furniture and mattresses. Spend your days relaxing at the water’s edge on the private dock, and your evenings roasting marshmallows gathered around the built-in stone fire-pit. Located in a deep water short cove, you can swim and float in peace without concern of boats or interrupting wakes. Brand new kayaks and canoes are available for use in the boat house. The water levels stay high all year round, the depth at the dock ladder is approximately 8’ and at the end of dock is 15’+. With a sprawling floor plan, enjoy the lakeside view from almost every room! The great room includes a curved UHD 65” tv, perfect for watching movies with the entire group. Enjoy 4 master suites, 3 with an en suite bathroom, 1 with the bathroom located right outside the bedroom. The children will have a blast in the “Bunkie Room” furnished with 3 brand new bunk beds and mattresses. The walk-out basement is a perfect entertaining area with a 60” tv, a game room including a pool table, poker table, shuffle board, dart board, Wii, PS-3, tons of board games and DVDs! Cook your meals in this oversized kitchen, fully equipped with all the dishes and cookware you will need. The double oven, built in wine cooler, and additional island seating makes this kitchen welcoming and accessible for all of our guests! Create unforgettable vacation memories that will last a lifetime in this gorgeous lake home! *Please note, the driveway / front door and the dock are monitored by a Blink camera system for security purposes only.*

Pluses: Lots of room for the extended family, everything clean and ready to go when we arrived, and the best whirlpool anywhere! Decor was perfect, very refreshing, thoughtful seating areas. Full washer and dryer, very convenient. Dining area great for gathering and playing games after dinner. Firepit was another lovely gathering spot. Minuses (were minor): Couldn't get tv to work in master bedroom, and if you prefer not to use non-stick cookware,you'll need to byo.

Wonderful home with great views and flow throughout. Held our family Thanksgiving where we met from three different states to gather. Huge Firepit area so bring plenty of wood. A few glitches with dish and internet service but probably due to lack of use in colder months. Overall, wonderful time had by the entire family.

This house was beautiful. Clean and well kept from the inside. Might want to consider taking some water things (floats, paddle boards etc) because there was not a lot at all

Triathlon Team Stay for an Event at Pleasants Landing

Our triathlon club stayed at the property for the weekend to race in the “Rumpass in Bumpass” triathlon by kinetic Multisports. The home is amazing, it’s a perfect location and close proximity to event, and it easily accommodated the 10 of us with beds to spare! The owner was responsive via text message and very helpful when we had questions.

Wonderful 4th of July Get Away!

The house, property, and owner were wonderful. The house is beyond belief with many many fine features. The water access is incredible for both boating and swimming. The owner helped us get a ski boat and was very comfortable to work with.

This was our annual trip to Lake Anna, Number 37. The weather was perfect. Nice house but there were a few things missing that would have been nice to have. especially in the kitchen. Overall a very nice weekend.

Family getaway.

We booked this for a weekend getaway for our family group of 15. The location is amazing and the house is a great stay for a group of this size. Sadly it appeared that nobody had cleaned the house after the last guests. It was frustrating to need to spend the first part of our vacation cleaning a house that charges a hefty cleaning fee on the rental, but even sadder that the host failed to make any attempt to rectify the situation. I offered to send pictures of the state of the home and discuss the situation but received no response from the host. All in all , it's a fantastic property but badly in need of some attention to detail or at a bare minimum they need to eliminate the cleaning fee if they don't clean it.

The host was very pleasant and accommodating on check in and check out. The location was very nice and with some attention it could be great. However during our stay we could not get in touch with the host for a period of 24 hours when the wifi failed (and we later learned the wifi -- which was out most of the weekend we were there, is generally spotty.) House was configured well but maintenance and service needs more attention: dishwasher was full and not clean when we arrived; some frying pans were put away with encrusted food so we had to rewash them; only 3 of 5 burners on the stove top worked, and then only with a lighting stick to start them; some light bulbs in the dining area were out and we could find no replacement bulbs so did without; not all the rooms had toilet paper when we arrived.. Lock box was very difficult to work when we arrived because it is old and the mechanism encrusted --after 20 minutes and calling the host we were lucky to get it to open we were never able to close it, so when we left had to let the owner know it could not be securely closed. The boat house was unusable (unclean, screens laying around, webs). We communicated all this to the pleasant host who responded that she would attend to all these things, so it may be improved.

Perfect Lake Anna Destination

Stayed at this lake house and basically became a new person. Woke up to the lake like I was in a Disney movie. The view of the lake and dock is absolutely stunning ! You didn’t even have to leave the house to fish- The kids fished from the dock and caught a ginormous bass and in the morning fishers would come to our cove to fish. We brought our boat and tied it up to the dock and didn’t have to go far for good tubing, wake surfing, and wake boarding! The house was clean, cozy, and had a perfect spot where my husband could work while the kids and I fished, played pool, and boated. If peace and quiet had a location, it’s here. 12/10 would move in if they let me.

Beautiful location, lots of family activities provided. Loved the fire pit! Many separate spaces to enjoy gathering in smaller or larger groups. (We used them all). Could have one more bathroom in the basement and needs adequate closet space in the basement too. There is definitely room to add this. I would definitely rent this house again.

Great boating location

This is a nice big house for a lake vacation and boating. It has a very nice dock and cove where you can swim and kayak. We rented a paddle board for a few days from lkaoutfitters. There are a small number of minor repairs needed in the house. They sent someone to fix a few things and he was very responsive in fixing the primary items needed right away.

Family Weekend

Very pretty Property. Comfortable, Welcoming, and spacious. The beds and pillows very comfy and nice. Beautiful views. Kitchen has everything needed. We loved the fire place and fire pit. One tip would be to have more information about how the all TV's work - Instructions on starting the gas fire place, fixing the ice machine, and the one burner on the stove would be a plus and having all light fixtures working upon arrival. Great Family Location. We hope to visit this property again.

Wonderful Weekend

We initially booked Busbees Retreat for a 12 person staff retreat. The retreat was cancelled a couple weeks out. 4 of us used the house for a relaxing weekend. We cooked in and the kitchen was well-stocked. All the spaces were clean and comfortable. Instructions were easy. The home and area are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and an evening around the firepit.

Comfortable property, however we had a very long and detailed list of chores to do before we could check out, even though we payed for cleaning service. We also had to take our trash with us and bring our own trash bags. Left the trip with a bit of frustration. If you plan on staying here plan on spending few hours cleaning.

The house was amazing. There was plenty of space, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean . We loved the gas fireplace and the outdoor firepit. The best part of the house was the well stocked kitchen. This house had everything you could possibly want in a kitchen. A waffle iron, crock pot, potato peeler, pizza pan, zester. I have never had a rental kitchen that had everything. The double ovens with a build in air-fryer. We cooked--a lot! Will be going back again next year.
