Great stay for our weekend away! The house was comfortable for the three of us and I could see it working well for 4-6 people easily. The house was clean, well equipped, nicely updated, and near several things we wanted to do. Easy 1.5 mile walk to the beach or short drive to antique stores, restaurants. I would recommend this lovely place!
We found the location convenient to local beaches, grocery and restaurants. The home is nestled in a beautiful woodsy area just off the main road. Roomy enough for a small group with updates making it very comfortable. Filled with natural light. I would recommend bringing insect repellent due to ticks. For the home owners I recommend the purchase of new bakeware/ovenware such as nonstick skillets. And a pitcher for making drinks. We enjoyed our stay and would return again! Thank you!

Almost perfect!
This place is beautiful. The property is tucked back a bit from a small rd. Nestled between trees, the skylights throughout the house make it feel like you are sleeping in the woods. The location is perfect too-only a few miles from Warren Dunes and multiple restaurants and antique shops. Our family had a really nice time.

From the owner: "Thank you, Amy! We are so glad you enjoyed your time! We love the feel of the place, too."
The house has a VERY musty smell. There are no window coverings on any of the windows. It is a combination of updated and very out of date. Overall, it is a decent place to stay. I loved the sky lights throughout the house.

Hi Susan, we're so glad you appreciated the skylights, but we're sorry to hear some aspects fell short of expectations. We sent your feedback to the homeowner and they’d like to share the following:- The house is located in a high moisture environment in the woods. As part of recent renovations, the crawlspace has been completely sealed to prevent moisture from entering the home. A whole-house A/C system has also been installed, along with a dehumidifier. If we had known there was an issue during your stay, we would have suggested turning on the dehumidifier to help with the odor.- The large windows are designed to bring in natural light and showcase the beautiful views surrounding the property. While not all windows have coverings, the wooded surroundings do offer natural privacy. Additionally, new window coverings are being added to the downstairs bedroom next month after the season ends.- The home is accurately portrayed in the professional photos on the listing so guests can decide before booking if it meets their preferences. The homeowner works hard to provide a wonderful guest experience and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied visitors.

Very cute house.
This house is in a very nice location. Beautifully wooded, quiet, and safe. It's easy to access, and is really cute on the inside. There's a nice paved sidewalk to Cherry Beach and about a 1.5 mile walk to get there. (or bike ride). The beds are super comfy and soft. Kitchen is very functional. *note that the antique stores and restaurants nearby are not open Monday-Wednesday. But a 20 minute drive to St. Joseph and everything is open, lots of fun! Also, Infusco Coffee Shop a few miles away is really nice!
Cute little house in a beautiful wooded neighborhood. Loved the big windows throughout the house, however, some blinds or curtains at night would have made us feel less exposed. There was a moving light of some kind (flashlight? Drone?) Into the bedroom window at different times throughout the night.
We had a fabulous time on our very quick trip. Home is tucked away in the trees and is full of skylights. Could see the stars from the skylights and even heard an owl. Made for a very dreamy, nature-inspired trip. Also, we were only a few minutes from Warren Dunes. My only complaint is that they key device was not working correctly, making it difficult for us to open the door a few times. Also, it was a little tricky figuring out the light switches, but we managed. Would definitely return!
We loved the place and the location. The house has tons of windows and light and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in the woods. Lots of restaurant choices nearby as well as beaches. Our only minor complaint is that it would be nice if there were curtains or blinds on the windows in the downstairs bedroom, we felt very exposed.
There was also a weird incident where another couple showed up in the driveway the second night and said they had booked the place. It had somehow been double-booked by the property management company. It caused an hour of awkwardness while the poor couple had to sort it out,
But we would definitely recommend this place for couples and small families, and would book it again.

Great location, OK property
The location of this spot was great and the property management was easy to get in touch with. We loved the yard and the fire pit. But, I don't recommend this place for people with young kids. First there is no oven, so cooking is very difficult. Second, there are no doors to the bedrooms so it is very hard to make it quiet for the little kids while they sleep. The bed upstairs is extremely uncomfortable and the drain on the bathtub does not work so we couldn't give our young kids a bath - they are too young to shower so it was very tricky after a day at the beach. Additionally, I know measures have been taken to reduce bugs but there was a pretty bad ant problem. For the pricing of this house I would expect better amenities or at least clarity on what is provided.

Sarah, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
We're glad you enjoyed the location, the yard, and the fire pit!
-While the oven is not listed as an amenity, we have since added a toaster oven (with air fryer) so hopefully that will help. We find our guests tend to enjoy the variety of nearby restaurants.
-Yes, I can see how the absence of doors could be a challenge and I apologize for any inconvenience your family faced because of it. We have opted for a more open space given the cottage feel.
-Regarding the bed, we stayed there the week before and found the same bed to be quite comfortable. I know each person's definition of comfort can be different!
-I'm very sorry to hear you experienced some ant issues. Again, we stayed there the week prior and didn't notice any ants. We also stayed 2 weeks after you did and again noticed no insect issues. We've made sure to take precautions by adding some ant traps around the premises.
Thank you for the feedback. We do take it seriously.
This home is a little nugget just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches. We enjoyed heading south for a little antique shopping and small downtown vibe and walks on the beach. Fall leaves off the beach are beautiful. Not crowded which is always a plus.
Have been visiting Harbert/Sawyer/ Bridman/New Buffalo areas for 50 years (+). Always like to try different places. We loved that the home was secluded, quiet, well laid out. All the skylights are a plus, especially on moonlit nights. Though we are very familiar with the area, Host provided plenty of info.
Home selection was a GOOD choice!
The house is lovely, cozy decor and very clean. We ran into some weather issues and had to cut our stay short and the owner was very accommodating to our situation.
Our family of 4 (2 young boys) loved our quick getaway from the city to this house that had everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out with good sized yard for outdoor activities. Beach pass to Cherry Beach allowed us to explore a new beach and we appreciated the parking lot with all of our gear. The owner was immediately responsive on all questions/asks and provided a very warm, hospitable home for our stay. Would book it again in a second if the price and timing is right.
We loved the house. It was extremely spacious and filled with light. It was in a great location — peacefully surrounded by trees, but accessible to multiple fun activities. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck, and in the backyard around the fire pit. We were able to do laundry. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The kitchen had everything we needed.
We had a wonderful time staying at this home over Father's Day weekend. The house is well-appointed, and the upstairs area with bed, couch, and desk is especially nice (we loved all the skylights!) The check-in process is super easy, and our hosts made a lot of great recommendations for local spots. It was easy to get to beaches and other little towns, but you'll definitely need a car if you want to get around!
