We were lucky enough to spend two weeks at Nonny Cottage last year while my kids were at camp nearby. We loved it so much we had to return. I love the library and the quiet mornings watching deer. Thank you for sharing this space with us.
My sister and I stayed here for a weekend away in the mountain, this was the perfect spot. I would suggest bringing shampoo and body wash but other than that the amenities were perfect and it’s the coziest place
Cute place. We really liked it. Only “issue” we had was that the pest control guy stopped in unannounced to grab a trap of some sort while we were playing cards. Knock at the door made us nervous because place is kind of secluded. It was fine just unexpected and wasn’t sure if we were supposed to let the guy in or not.
Adorable, cozy cottage in a convenient location. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiked Crabtree Falls and stopped by the local breweries. Cottage is super clean. We also enjoyed the wood burning stove and outdoor firepit.
My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay at Nonny Cottage. It was so peaceful to sit on the porch each morning and enjoy coffee while watching the deer! We took full advantage of the property's proximity to several trailheads. We love Crabtree Falls and even ventured to the Natural Bridge in Lexington.
It was so nice to enjoy such a peaceful escape. The cottage was comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and loved being able to sleep with the windows open!
Thank you fo a beautiful stay. We would love to visit again.
The house is adorable. Every little comfort has been thought about and provided. From the couch to the bedding, it felt like a home.
The outside is fabulous. Woods and a great firepit made the nights fun and full of laughter. We spent the days hiking the AT or enjoying a good book, that we found from the ample selection, on the shelves inside.
There are no complaints, just thanks for such a wonderful stay.

Clean!
This is the perfect little place to disconnect. There is definitely no cell service or wifi and the tv only plays DVDs. It was super clean and well stocked even with hand soap, dish detergent, toilet paper and paper towels. It was only 10 minutes from Crabtree Falls. We loved it!
Great place to stay!
Clean,comfortable and very safe
So quiet.
Only suggestions I would make is putting in directions that you turn into Twin Pond Drive 😊 on the right.
Took us a bit to figure that out!
Hope we can be guest again in the near future.
PS Diesel the dachshund our pup loved the yard and squirrels 🐿️
He was very amused.
Thank you!

Rustic, Mountaintop Experience
We rented this cottage for a week while we were moving from Staunton. It was clean. Driving back and forth to our home in Staunton was too long, especially on the mountain roads. No cell service, no internet--we were told. But we didn't expect the front door handle to come off. For several days we couldn't lock the door--this was fixed quickly. The bed was too high for my wife to get on and off--she feared falling off when she slept. This was indeed a rustic, mountain top experience.

Bryan, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-The rural location of this property is part of its charm but, unfortunately, means that cell service can occasionally be slow
-We appreciate you reaching out when the door handle issue arose so we could quickly replace it
-While the 4 poster bed is more elevated than a normal bed, we do provide stairs for ease of access
-We use local professional photographers so the images accurately reflect our home, and guests can decide before booking if the accommodations meet their expectations
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’d love the chance to provide you with a truly 5-star travel experience, so please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help the next time that you book a vacation rental.

Looks are deceiving!
The cottage has a lot of positives, however we experienced multiple negatives.
-The electrical service had some issues and there was no hot water. We let the property manager know upon arrival.
- the next afternoon when they came to mow the very long grass they were able to get most of the lights working. The man mowing was unable to get the hot water heater to work and indicated they would have to call someone.
-Pest control showed up while we were there!
-We had no other contact with the property manager. Apparently they were not concerned about our lack of hot water for our entire 4 night stay.
- The place was very hard to find, the backporch light did not work until the breaker was replaced.
- My husband and I both missed the step coming off the raised platform on the deck and fell. My husband hurt his knee and my head hit the grill resulting in a very bloody gash to my head.
-The refrigerator door does not seal properly and we had to find a prop to keep the door closed. And the kitchen ceiling fan and light did not work.
-The 4 poster bed is ridiculously high and we did not sleep in it,

Hi Ruth, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following: - The guest contact responded promptly to hot water issues. While they came to the property multiple times trying to get hot water, it required additional repair that could not be completed during your stay. - The pest control service was part of routine maintenance to ensure the property remains pest-free. They only treated the basement area to minimize any disruption. - We apologize for the difficulty you had in locating the property and the inconvenience caused by the back porch light. - There were electrical issues due to a recent lightning strike. The breaker box has since been replaced and all lights and fans are working. - We are sorry to hear about your fall and your husband's injury. The caretaker was informed about the missed step but not the injuries; otherwise, we would have tried to make it right during your stay. - The entire deck was recently replaced and meets safety standards. -The refrigerator has been inspected and replacements are being made. - We take pride in providing accurate representations of our property through professional photos. However, we understand that the antique four-poster bed may not suit all guests’ preferences, and will consider replacing it based on your feedback. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
The nonny cottage had everything my husband and I needed for our off the grid fall trip to celebrate his birthday and our wedding anniversary. The cottage was close the the hiking trails we wanted to explore and not too far out we couldn't travel into town for a nice dinner celebration for his birthday, the Southern Inn in Lexington was superb. Thanks for the fabulous stay!

Totally Unplugged
Lovely home with all the necessities. If seclusion, quiet and unplugged is your thing, them this is for you. There is no wifi or cable but there is a land line if you need to contact anyone. The weather was awesome for us and the fall foliage was beautiful. It's just a short drive to the Blueridge Parkway. We loved our stay and the dogs we brought with us loved it as well. Very relaxing!
It was a lovely, clean, and comfortable place. There was a party across the way that stayed loud pretty late, but we were able to tune them out and enjoy the fire pit both nights. Only bummer was that the grill did not have gas so we were unable to grill out.
