Perfect for couples or singles and especially cyclists. It is not suitable for elderly, or mobility challenged guests. Access to the upstairs is via a short flight of steep stairs. It also has a typical loft ceiling, not ideal for tall people. There is undercover cycle storage in the huge carport, a new bathroom/laundry with washer and drier and a shared ground floor storage room with electric drying racks, a steam press and small vertical freezer.
Upstairs is an airy studio loft style space. A kitchen you can cook in, with induction plate, double hob, microwave, slow cooker, wok and electric frypan. Or eat out at the great cafe across the street. Seaview from upstairs. Underbench fridge with access to freezer in the bike storage space downstairs. Free netflix, wifi, and DVD library. And a built in Google Chromecast so you can cast TVNZ programmes from your tablet. laptop or phone. Fern Arch cottage shares its location with Kupe Cottage which sleeps 3. If your group is largeish, just book both cottages. Both cottages are just two minutes walk from beautiful Carters Beach (see photos), and the new Kawatiri Coastal walking and biking trail.

The cleaning fee is a one time charge not a nightly charge. So the longer you stay the cheaper your nightly rate. It covers the cost of laundering your bed bath and kitchen linen, cleaning the equivalent of a small house, and the cost of cleaning products and appliances used.

Charging your electric car using our power is not permitted. It is a safety and insurance issue for us. Chargers are available at both supermarkets.
