My family had a wonderful time at this cottage. We absolutely love that it is nestled in a naturalized part of the area with soany native flowers and wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed the view of our morning tea and from the master shower. Access to the river for canoeing was a really nice perk that we took advantage of! We would definitely stay here again.
This modern-cozy space was perfect for our family's winter retreat weekend. Close to both P17 and P19 of Gatineau Provincial Park, we spent mornings on the cross country ski trails and afternoons/evenings enjoying the fresh, clean space with a large fully-equipped kitchen and a welcoming wood stove. In-floor heating, comfortable beds, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking a winter wonderland all contributed to our family already dreaming about returning again.
This house blends into the landscape beautifully and we loved the windows, lack of clutter, space and quiet. The downstairs bathroom is gorgeous - especially the soaking tub with views! We also appreciated all the extras the host had thought of: kitchen gadgets, extra towels & sheets and things like extra virgin olive oil, baggies, bath salts and sugar were all on hand. Even binoculars and a bird book! Our only criticism was the cleaning crew had left in a hurry without finishing, so we had to make our beds, put away their gear and finish a load of laundry. Our host was mortified when we told him and apologized profusely and made it up to us in a refund. Problems like this come up - and I appreciated how our host responded. We would highly recommend this house for a getaway.
This is a wonderful property and we loved our Christmas stay here. The house is great and there are loads of outdoor activities to do in Gatineau Park.
Wonderful home, brand new with no internet, TV or books so lots of time to watch the wide variety of birds who the descend on the feeders outside the massive windows! Loved the escape!
We had a wonderful time at this modern, private, and very clean cottage. We swam and kayaked in the river, enjoyed cooking in the new kitchen, and eating outdoors. This was a bit of a splurge for us, but worth every penny. On the way from Ontario we stopped in at the quaint town of Wakefield and visited the covered bridge. An overall excellent experience!
the property is beautiful and well maintained. We appreciated the use of the canoes and kayaks. The kitchen had basic condiments which was also helpful. Some suggestions: provide more plates, cutlery, etc. so that the dishwasher can be run less often. The check-in process was confusing because we were told we had to get a key from the neighbour but it turned out that we had to text the owner and get a code. There is construction in the area so the owner should provide details instructions for getting in and out of the property.
Beautiful place! everything was as perfect as it seemed online. The host provided us with all the information we needed. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom had a beautiful view, and was very clean. The location is incredible, overall had a great time!
Located only 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa, makes this cabin the perfect getaway for me. It was close enough do hang out downtown but remote enough to feel like you were the only person in Canada. Add Wakefield to the mix, a local quaint, resort style small town which has some of the best restaurants in all of Ottawa and you got a home run. The place looks exactly like it was photographed. It's an almost all glass modern home that was unussually cozy and warm in the dead of winter. Best nights will be spent staring at the fire as though it were the best TV show ever. We will be back. You will not be dissapointed. Book it!
