Location was good and the house was OK, but there were a significant number of deficiencies that could best be summed up as maintenance items. IT is my hope that when the issues are handled, the property would be well worth the prices charged.
We had a great stay, right on the lake. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire pit after shopping all day at Canton, it was just what we all needed quality time & relaxing.
House was set up nice for 4 couples. Great hot tub and dock, even though the water was low while we were there. Quiet neighborhood.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, communication
The mattress in the master bedroom had dip (sink) on one side and there were a lot of spider webs on the dock and could get the jets to work on the hot tub and stains on the carpet in master bedroom.
It was a good property. It was nice that the house had a kayak that the kids could use. They spent a lot of time in the lake off the dock and in the hot tub. We really enjoyed it!
The house was clean and stocked with all of the essential items that we needed. It is close to Gun Barrel City and has convenient restaurants nearby. We didn't go down to the dock, but it looked good from the house.
The house was beautiful and true to the pictures. The back porch was inviting. They had swim towels ready for using the hot tub and even had blankets for sitting outside on cool evenings enjoying the view or hanging by the fire pit. We were very satisfied and will definitely stay again.
My dad had passed away, and the host was very accommodating for my family that came from many different states to stay at the property, it was big enough for all of us, and we appreciate the communication. I would love to stay there with my family in the future when we can actually do some activities on the lake, it was a very nice property.
Property was super clean and very well equipped with kitchen/bathroom supplies! The house also had plenty of linens and towels, and board games and a hot tub!! Check in and communication was super easy and smooth. Neighborhood was quiet and the house accommodated our family (6 adults 4 kids) well. We mostly stayed in the property so couldn’t tell much about the city or activities, but if you are looking to just chill with the family, this was a great house and I’d recommend it!
We have rented many homes over last decade this one was decorated very cute! snacks wine was a nice touch. Trip didn't go as planned had a son have motorcycle wrack 2 days prior. We didn't get to do guided Fishing trip or canton trade days weather/ situation but was nice to have family all together. Would defiantly stay again
What an amazing stay. We spent spring break with friends & this was the perfect layout for the 4 adults & 3 kids on the trip - with room to spare! This property felt like home. The screened porch was a dream. We were hoping for warmer weather, but this house has so much to offer in all temps. Backyard had everything we needed, hot tub, fire pit, real wood Adirondack chairs (not the cheap plastic ones), boat dock was perfect for the kids first attempt at fishing, and we enjoyed several cornhole tournaments. Management was wonderful to work with, we had no issues during our stay, but they were so accommodating of my request for a slightly earlier check-in. We’re already looking for dates to come back in the summer!
The house was great and had everything we needed.
A couple of minor issues, the thermostat is hard to figure out and there was dog food on the floor when we arrived. A safety issue is the thermometer on the hot tub is WRONG! We nearly burned our legs at what read 101! The next day it "cooled" to 95 and was hot!
Other than that, the house is nice and I would stay there again.
We had a great women’s retreat. We had 9 women stay and it was very nice although not as clean as I would have liked. There was a cigarette butt in one bathroom when we arrived behind the door and the other had a big wad of hair behind it. The front door was covered in cobwebs. One of the showers had What appeared to be soap smeared all over the wall and curtain The ladies would not shower the whole time we were there. Upon leaving when we removed the pillowcases as requested one of the pillows had a brown stain on it. All that said, there were no bugs or anything inside and we felt safe. We even talked to neighbors as we walked in the afternoon. It was a very nice and peaceful setting. No wash clothes were provided for the bathroom or the kitchen. It was decorated very cute and was comfortable. They did work with us on a late check out. Overall I would rate it an 80 to 90 % which is quite good in my opinion. Despite these few issues, we enjoyed our time here and I would return.

This house smells horrible
We were so excited to stay in this area. Close to Canton and on a lake….. but we were so disappointed. The house smells bad. Not clean, the hot tub hasn’t been cleaned in months. Screened in porch has so much dirt. Contacted the owner who was no help and just blamed the storms. Ceiling fans were very dirty and bathroom rugs were nasty. No help from the owner and no sympathy for leaving early due to bad smell. rent this at your own risk, they don’t live in the area and didn’t seem empathetic in the least. We left this place cleaner than when we got there. Do better if you are going to charge this kind of nightly rent.

Hi Willie, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:- We were surprised to hear about the cleanliness concerns you experienced during your stay. Our aim is always to provide a comfortable and clean environment for guests. We apologize that this was not your experience.- We instructed our cleaning crew to wash the bathroom rugs, and upon inspection after checkout, we found the fans to be in good condition. However, we cannot confirm whether they were wiped down before your departure. The condition of the back porch was consistent with previous rentals, and while there are a few stains on the cushions, this has been the case for some time.- Regarding the hot tub, it's equipped with a recently replaced floating chlorinator, and we found it to be clean with only a minimal amount of sand at the bottom. - As for the smell, when we entered the house, we didn't notice any offensive odors. It's worth noting that our pier & beam house may have a distinct scent compared to other structures.- We would have greatly appreciated having photos of the issues. This would have given us a clearer perspective on the matters at hand.We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for. We hope to host you again soon!

Almost perfect
We stayed Dec 27-Dec 30, 2024 and everything was almost perfect. We had no problems with the inside of the house or with getting in. There are no instructions for the TV's and all of the remotes are in a bowl on the living room table. We fiddled with the living room TV till we found the apps and logged in to our Netflix and YouTubeTV accounts (be sure to log out before you leave!) We were very excited about having the screened in back porch but it was extremely dirty and the floor was covered in leaves when we got there. It rained the first day and a half we were there, but was nice later. The back porch was not usable :( We did have our dog but couldn't let him out back by himself because there is a pile of metal, wires and junk in the backyard behind the barn/out building. The hot tub was wonderful but trust me, you don't want to set the temp above 94 degrees. You will scald yourself...been there, done that!

Fantastic Anniversary Trip!
This was a very special trip. Our 34th anniversary. It just so happens we are close to retirement and looking for lakefront property. We thought we’d get an opportunity to check out Cedar Creek Reservoir. Well…unfortunately lake levels were so low we were unable to even get our boat in the water. The dock at the property was dry. We were not about to let that ruin our trip! The house was really lovely, and the owner, David, was extremely decent and easy to deal with. He was on top of every question we put to him and very quick to respond. The house was clean and well appointed. The screened in back porch was a bonus, and the hot tub was huge! The temperatures dropped like a rock the weekend we were there and hopping in the hot tub was just what the doctor ordered. All in all, even with the disappointment in lake levels, and inability to fish, the trip was extremely fun. My children and their families all visited at some point and there was plenty of room. Highly recommend this beautiful house. The host was outstanding.

Honest review of our stay over Father's Day weekend June 13-15th.
Giving this experience a 2 out of 5 overall. Pros: Good layout, roomy. Screened in back porch. Ample supplies. Cons: House & yard/tree overall not maintained well...trees over grown & couldn't see the lake from porch. Infested with mosquitos so can't enjoy dock or backyard. Backyard has big barn with trash piled next to it. Carpets stained with pet urine (see picture of example, all rooms stained badly). House reeked of mold/mildew. Screened in porch screen falling apart & dirty. Sectional dirty. Recliners broken. Batteries in some remotes were not working. King bed in primary was sunken on both sides (didn't sleep in other beds) & uncomfortable. Previous guests left trash outside (see picture of example) by dock & by grill area. I contacted owners 3hrs after arrival and David stated this was unacceptable and offered to have carpet cleaners come out during our short stay. I declined the offer as we only stayed a weekend and that would have been a big inconvenience to my husband and I. No other resolution other than "sorry". We spent 1k for the weekend and not worth it for the experience. If your standards are low & don't care about what was mentioned then this place probably will not bother you.
Love this house! It was perfect for the 6 of us who were there for First Monday. We loved being able to sit on the screen in porch and the hot tub was perfect for those chilly nights and soothing on our tired bodies from all the walking. Would definitely stay here again.
