Summary: Pack your bathers and get ready to laze the days away at Lazy Days @ the Beach! This charming home is conveniently situated a few minutes’ drive from Dunsborough and just a stone’s throw from the white sands and glistening waters of Geographe Bay. Not only is the location picture perfect, but the place has been kitted out with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing family holiday of sea, fun and sandy toes.
The Space: Lazy Days @ the Beach is ideally set up for a family trip down south, with bikes, kayaks and scooters for guests to use, as well as a kid’s playset in the large, fully enclosed back yard. Furry family members are welcome to come on holiday too, as long as they don’t come inside the house, and the local beach is dog friendly.
The house itself is laid out across a single storey; upon entry you are met with the bright, homely combined lounge (with smart TV), kitchen and dining area, welcoming you home. The house is tastefully but simply furnished, bringing the beachy feel from outside in.
Its three bedrooms line the timber-floored hallway, each one light and inviting, with a queen bed each in the master and second bedroom, and two tri-bunks in the kids’ room at the end of the hall. A TV and squashy beanbags in the bunk room mean it can double up as the perfect kids’ hangout, so there’s no need to squabble over the remote! The dining area and lounge has plenty of comfortable seating for quality time together, and the cupboards are stocked with an array of games if you feel like having a break from screen time. That said, the smart TV and comfy couches in the lounge make a great set-up for movie night, with extra blankets provided to snuggle up for a cosy night in.
The bathroom is clean and modern, with a spacious shower plus toilet and vanity. Stepping out of the back door, the laundry and separate WC are located just outside. The house also boasts two outside seating areas, with the al fresco dining and BBQ at the front of the property and a more chilled out lounge area for enjoying a drink and a chat at the rear.
If you fancy a break from the beach, you are in the perfect location to explore this wonderful region’s wide array of attractions, as well as having Dunsborough on your doorstep for all the essentials. And with a cycle path going right past the front door, you can ditch the car and explore this wonderful area from a new perspective. Family holiday heaven.

The Neighborhood: Located just 2.5 hours away from Perth, and within easy driving distance from popular hotspots Dunsborough (15 minutes), Yallingup (20 minutes) and Margaret River (30 minutes), this is the perfect base to explore everything our region has to offer. The best news? You don't have to visit Margaret River township to enjoy some of the most famous and world class wine, as there are dozens of cellar doors to choose from all the way down the Cape. The nearest cellar doors to Marybrook are within a 10 minute drive (Flametree, Lentedal, Palmer and Blind Corner), and there are numerous local operators offering winery and brewery bus tours. For the beer lovers out there, nearby Busselton is home to two fantastic tap rooms - Rocky Ridge and Shelter Brewing Co.
The small beachside enclave of Marybrook is located next door to Quindalup on Caves Road, and is part of the “Golden Mile” – a glorious stretch of beach running between Busselton and Dunsborough. Down here, every day is beach day, where locals and visitors alike can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and paddling the day away… or simply soaking in the beautiful surroundings from the white sand shores. The beach here is dog friendly, meaning fun for ALL of the family!
It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.
Please see the Guidebook for our personal recommendations on where to eat, drink, shop and what to see & do in this fabulous region. This list is by no means exhaustive, however, so please get in touch if you need any pointers ahead of your stay.
The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a “boutique” region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties aren’t your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.
Getting Around: Marybrook is located a 5 minute drive from Dunsborough and 15 minutes from Busselton. As mentioned in the Neighbourhood Description, there are also a number of cellar doors and restaurants nearby. There is a walk and cycle path that runs along Caves Rd, directly outside the house, so guests can take the bikes and scooters provided for a ride/scoot into Dunsborough. The area is now home to an e-scooter initiative as well, making it even easier to get around on the paths in place without needing to hop in the car. Visitors wishing to explore the region more in depth will need access to a car.

Thank you we had a lovely time at your gorgeous house.
House had everything you need, beautiful big garden and located right on the beach. Dog beach, so just perfect to spend the day as a family using the supplied kayaks etc
So lucky to have found a place during the Easter school holidays and really glad we did! The house was immaculate and perfectly set up for our family. Some really nice touches like games for the kids, a selection of charging cable for the adults and a garage full of toys to borrow.
What a lovely property we had the pleasure of staying at recently! It's an older house with a great modern reno and every thing you need for a great break. 5 houses walk to the beach, and it was a nice quiet beach away from the crowds. Backyard fully fenced with awesome long driveway for kids to scoot and ride around.
Yes, it's on Caves road so there is traffic noise, but after a day your brain just blocks that out. Being half-way between Dunsborough and Busselton was a win too, made for easy access in both directions for cafes, activities and days out.
Nice firm mattresses for parents, awesome bunks for kids, and great glassware (wine) too! :)
thank you!
Spotlessly clean very good communication with host. Cheryl was very helpful with local knowledge which was greatly appreciated. Literally 1min walk to lovely beach. Unfortunately we didn’t get time to use the kayaks or bikes but they are a generous addition to a good family holiday. Would definitely return.
House was well equipped and clean.
Lovely home and close to beach. Half way between Busselton and Dunsborough.
