With the dock and water just steps away, you can carryon the traditions of summer boating, swimming and sailing that have kept this area such a special place. This updated cottage still carries its original charm with original custom woodworking and hardwood floors throughout, This updated cottage has plenty of space for entertaining the whole family, a group of friends coming to the area or for just two of you for a romantic getaway to Harbor Springs.
The Space:
Parking for the cottage is located along the back (North) side of Pennsylvania Avenue. You enter through the black fence and gate to the back entrance of the cottage into the spacious and fully equipped kitchen with clean white appliances and service for 10 people. There is a nice refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, blender, toaster and much more. Off the kitchen, you will find a laundry area and mud room with storage for coolers, luggage bags, etc.
Off the other end of the kitchen you will enter the dining room with table space for 10 comfortably. The dining room has a beautiful buffet for bar service and a large natural stone gas fireplace for chilly evenings. Through the dining room to your right is a den with comfortable couch and large smart tv with streaming and cable services. Through to the living room, you will find the lakeside living room with a second natural stone gas fireplace, custom upholstered furniture, cushions and drapes customized to fit the charm and happiness of this summer cottage.
Upstairs you will find two primary bedrooms (each with a king) with ensuite bathrooms and walk in showers. Both featuring panoramic views of the Harbor and soft finishes. The third bedroom (queen) upstairs also has a view of the water through the oversized window and an attached bath. The fourth bedroom with two twins has a balcony overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue. This balcony is safe but should not be used without adult supervision. The last bedroom (two twins) is off the back of the house past the fourth bathroom area and private staircase down to the kitchen.
On the lowest level of the cottage which can be accessed on the front of the house, there is a recreation room, storage for kayaks, bikes and other outdoor equipment.
This home does have supplemental air conditioning but does not have central air. There are fans and plenty of windows to enjoy the Lake Michigan breeze.
There is a garage visible at the cottage but is unavailable to renters.
*This property has a two week minimum between Memorial Day and Labor Day. No rentals of less that 14 days will be accepted during that time period.
