About this property
River Stone Mudgee Luxury Eco Estate in the Hills
In the hills of Riverlea and bounded by nature, this breathtaking home offers unforgettable country living with access to the Cudgegong River where you can kayak, fish or float down the river in complete privacy. Its eco design combines character-rich details with luxury amenities—including a fire pit and wood-burning fireplace—and reveals sensational views over the valley. Just 20-minutes from Mudgee, you'll be perfectly placed to immerse yourself in the region’s wineries and gourmet delights.
Driving up the dirt road to the property, you’ll be overcome with a sense of awe. It embodies real country living, with a design that heroes sustainability. This sprawling eco estate feels at one with nature, offering complete privacy and a true sense of seclusion, plus kayaks and rubber floaters are provided so you can laze by the river. The living quarters include the main house, The Riverstone, and a separate cottage, Bear Cottage.
Starting at the main house, it boasts grand proportions with an open plan living and dining area. Light up the fireplace to fill the space with warmth or lounge on the leather sofas in front of the flat screen TV. Reverse-cycle heating and cooling makes the home a year-round retreat. In the centre of the house sits a large dining table, inviting guests to come together for meals at home, and a dedicated bar with wine fridge and dishwasher encourages you to stock up from the region’s renowned cellar doors to be enjoyed during your stay. Cooking comes easy with a fully-equipped kitchen replete with modern appliances and utensils, along with a BBQ out on the deck. Gather alfresco or around the fire pit, watching as the setting sun puts on a show over the rolling hills.
There are five bedrooms within the main house. The master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed and comes with a luxurious ensuite bathtub, highlighting a sumptuous freestanding tub. Each of the four remaining bedrooms offer queen-sized beds, beautifully appointed with premium linens and unique artwork. The main bathroom has a gorgeous eco feel with a rain shower and leafy green outlook. An additional toilet is located within the laundry.
The adjacent Bear Cottage is a quaint, two-storey, fully self-contained unit, creating privacy from the main house and accommodating four guests. On the ground floor is a charming open plan living space with a kitchenette and small dining table. A sofa and fireplace encourage you to get cosy in the evenings. There is a well-presented bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. Heading upstairs, the bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed along with a double, offering a great space for families. There is a lovely seating area or reading nook opening to the balcony and capturing impressive vistas over the land.
Guests can enjoy 50mbps internet speed courtesy of Starlink, making working or gaming from the retreat an absolute breeze, and four of the bedrooms are fitted with reverse-cycle air-conditioning. Under awning parking is also available for two cars outside Bear Cottage, while multiple vehicles can park on the driveway.
Fancy a local treat or preparing for a Friday night arrival? We offer grazing boxes and breakfast hampers exclusively made for our guests and placed in the fridge before your arrival.
