We're delighted to hear that our property was a good fit for your family, and that you enjoyed the location and atmosphere. It's always great to provide a comfortable space for our guests. We hope to host you and your family again in the future for another enjoyable stay!
The property was well located and well maintained. A very nice home. Beautiful views of the ocean and plenty of room for the four of us. Quick access to the tiki bar on the pier. The only issue, which is not the owner's fault, was the fact that there was no beach at the property due to erosion. Even at low tide you couldn't access the beach from the access at the property. We had to walk down the block a minute or two to get beach space, so it was bit like being at a resort where you had to put out your chairs in the morning to claim your space.

Thank you for your review. We're delighted you enjoyed the home's location, maintenance, and ocean views. We appreciate your understanding regarding the beach erosion, as it's beyond our control. Your feedback is valuable, and we're glad it didn't detract from your overall experience.
Overall this is a nice place and Carolina Beach is a quiet little beach town.
Pros:
- very nice inside, not old feeling like a lot of beach places.
- we did not have power in the living room when we got there. The owner came out after hours to deliver an extension cord for us to use for the night and had an electrician out the next morning.
- great restaurants very close by
- quiet beach
- very close to the water
Cons:
- parking is pretty tight but expected for a beach house
- they give one toilet paper roll per bathroom, skip the tiny bottles of shampoo and provide extra TP
- can definitely tell it's dog friendly
- we were in the bottom unit, you can definitely hear people walking upstairs but to be expected with a multi-unit place
- at high tide, there's only about 5-10ft of beach Infront of the house
- the last night a group of college kids came and there with around 20 of them upstairs with 6 vehicles. They were very loud. We didn't notify the owners, so this isn't on them, but it doesn't seem to be monitored
There are pro’s and con’s to all places but it would not deter us from coming back to stay here. Got to meet the owner Marcus who is super nice! We shared a few things that we thought would improve the rental and he says it was nice to know and that they were also working on. Pro’s - Beautiful place, a wonderful fenced in yard for your dogs, oceanfront, easy access, close to restaurants and things to do, wonderful management and very clean place due to Shelly who we were fortunate to have met. She’s super nice and a hard worker. The place was spotless! We loved hanging out on back deck with the ocean view. Great family beach, wonderful quiet neighborhood. Con’s - Discussed with owner that a few of the boards to the walk way in the fenced in area were loose and needed to be screwed down, the beds were worn, the refrigerator wasn’t very cold and freezer needs to defrost around edges but they do have a note on refrigerator that states it might take a few days to cool down due to them cleaning them out. You do get noise from upstairs guest walking etc on floors which is to be expected and you never know who the neighbors might be, ours was up late at night, but all you have to do is let the management know. The bottom of dishwasher plate was broke but the washer did work. Again All these things I mentioned would not stop us from coming back…..these are easy things to change. Thank you “A Shore Thing 1” for a wonderful stay!
A Shore Thing 1 Review with PROS and CONS
Let’s start with the PROS:
- Location is TOP NOTCH!!
- Views from the front deck and walkway are wonderful. Enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise.
- The access to the beach is very much appreciated as others around us had to climb over the rocks to get to the beach. The private walkway made it so easy!!
- the space itself fit 8 adults 1 child and 1 dog well. We had plenty of room.
CONS:
- When we arrived we found dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I also found two dirty dishes in the cabinets.
- No dust pan for the broom.
- Fan in master bedroom made a loud squeaky sound when on.
- Not enough towels were given for the duration of our stay. They gave us a total 8 towels for a five night stay with 9 people. One dish towel and one dishrag for the kitchen. Thankfully I brought extra towels.
- make sure to bring supplies like extra toilet paper and paper towels. If you want to make tea or lemonade bring your own pitcher. They only had one small sheet pan and a few pots and pans but two slow cookers.
-Guest above us weren’t an issue but it is very loud when sliding chairs across the room, dropping something or walking heavy. I could easily see where the above guest could cause the bottom guest to be bothered. Luckily ours only stayed a few nights and were rarely there.
Things to do!!
- the Carolina Pier is just a short walk from the house. They offer live music, drinks and food. This was so much fun!
