This little cabin has a nice outlook, elevated over the Charles Darwin reserve and features direct access to the same named walk that goes down to the famous Wentworth Falls. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the village yet is really secluded overlooking an acre of grounds....It`s also a few minutes drive to all the best walks and places the Blue Mountains has to offer. Recently renovated, it was originally the old boiler/laundry outbuilding of the Grosvenor estate, a landmark property in Wentworth Falls. It has been comprehensively updated, and is really well insulated and strengthened to cope with the winter winds and extremes of weather in the upper Blue Mountains. It features a mezzanine sleeping area directly overlooking the view with pull down attic style steps to access. There is also a pullout double bed ( which is the sofa on ground level ) in case you can`t quite make it up there for the night. It has a compact but fully equipped kitchen, proper bathroom with shower and toilet and a nice large private deck out the back with a generous seating area, as well as another protected seating area towards the front of the building. Although it is small at 16 sq m inside ( incl the mezzanine ) plus 9 sq m deck, it is cute and charming and features many practical design details to make your stay comfortable. Perfect for a couple who are into tiny houses or just want a cosy weekend away with a sense of adventure or also ideal for solo getaways be it for inspiration, reconnecting with nature or creative pursuits....or all of the above! The Haiku Hut is a really nurturing getaway experience. This cabin is located on the same property as the also listed "Origami Apartment" and the "Suenaga Suite" in case you are looking to sync up your stay with other couples, friends or family. The property is fully self catering and self-check in with all bedding, linen and towels provided. The owners live on site in case any further assistance is required. There are other basics provided as well: Teabags, instant coffee, salt, pepper, cooking oil, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is no washing machine but a laundry service can be provided if required at an additional charge.
IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE BOOKING..... Just a couple of things to consider and understand before booking this property: It can get windy in the upper Blue Mountains. Although the cabin is extremely solid we can get pretty strong winds sometimes on winter days/nights and so you may need earplugs if you`re a light sleeper.
The FOLD DOWN ATTIC STAIRS to access the bed are high and steep so you will need to take care and practice caution when using them. They are also rated to a weight MAXIMUM of 150KG. If you exceed that weight you will need to sleep on the lower level and it also means just one person at a time accessing the stairs. Please note these stairs are not suitable for young children and we don’t accept bookings with young children between 6mths to 14yrs old. Also, contrary to what the website might say ( at certain times depending on whatever booking platform software is being used ) there is actually no hot tub/outdoor spa. There is an old green bath you can see in the photos that fills with rainwater which you are more than welcome to use as a bath or just to cool off on a hot day.

Such a fantastic and cosy place! My partner and I loved waking up to the views in the morning. All the amenities were clean and easy to use (shower was perfect after a rainy day of hiking).Instructions from owner were clear and the information booklet in the hut for the area was perfect for us as first time visitors to the area.
I really loved my stay, the tiny home setup had everything needed with a lovely atmosphere. The Darwin walk which backed onto the property was great (although partially closed) and Luke was helpful. I’d stay again!
beautiful, cosy cabin in great location with an incredible view.
Cabin is clean, cosy, beautiful and has all the ammenities you need. Location is a short walk to the main town and walk/drive to all the attractions. Check in was easy, would come again!
Had to sleep on the pull out sofa as the loft space for the “bed” was just a slab of foam. The curtains were not very useful and no tongs available in the kitchen. Location was very good though and host was quick to respond to the heater issue.

Thanks for taking the time review the hut Maria. I have to respond in this case as the information you provide is not actually accurate. The mattress foam is actually specially made high density mattress foam that is expensive and used in campervan/ caravans etc to save space. I have only ever received high praise for the bedding and perhaps you should have taken more time to actually sleep there before making a judgement. There are tongs in the kitchen and am not sure why you didn’t see them and have never had a complaint about the curtains. And, there was no issue with the heater which we established while you were here which you neglect to mention, it’s just you were unfamiliar with it. I also didn’t appreciate the fact that you broke the wifi amplifier by changing the voltage settings on the back and burnt out the transformer and neglected to tell me, which the next guest ( as well as myself ) found inconvenient.
The Hut was so cute and cosy and had everything we needed. I love tiny homes, and this one didn’t disappoint. The view from the loft bedroom was divine and the outdoor setting was lovely. The Hut was well equipped. I’d definitely stay again.
An excellent location and cute tiny house when visiting the Blue Mountains. Very clean and quiet. No bugs/mosquitos (windows could be opened while screened).Luke the host was friendly and good with communications.
Great place with everything you need in a great location.

I am an owner builder, renovator with a history of successful holiday let properties here in the Blue mountains and on the South Coast of NSW. I along with my partner enjoy having guests from all walks of life stay at this property as it is such a unique experience and a great place from which to enjoy what the Blue Mountains has to offer.
Why they chose this property
When me and my partner purchased this property we soon realized it was too large for just us so we have decided to let out parts of it for holiday stays. Originally built as a large estate with stables called "Caringa" in 1910. Although hard to tell now as the original estate was bricked over in the early eighties, it was designed by renowned Architect George Sydney Jones ( son of retailer the famous David Jones ). After WW1 it became a respite hospital in 1919 "Shalvah" and then later a nursing home named "Grosvenor" from 1964 till closing in 1993 ( this name is still registered with Google maps and comes up when searching the address ). With this sense of history and purpose it is a truly unique property and is located conveniently close to town, is easy to locate coming up from Sydney whether by car or train and yet is also located in one of the quietest forgotten streets of Wentworth Falls. This cabin is located in an elevated part of the property, with stunning views over the Charles Darwin Reserve and beyond with direct access to the Charles Darwin walk that leads directly to the Falls. All these attributes are a really great combo for a good stay in the b mountains.
What makes this property unique
Compact but quiet, private and comfortable. It’s a perfect getaway for a couple or a single requiring de-stress downtime and to re-focus on everything that’s positive in life. It`s also really cosy in that unique blue mountains way……
