About this property

BIRDSONG: Cute Cabin in nature in Byron Bay Hinterland. 12mins to beach!

Experience tranquility and complete relaxation at Birdsong, our quaint 'Swiss style' cabin, nestled in the heart of the Byron Bay Hinterland. This guest cabin provides a quiet retreat away from busy Byron Bay or the glittery Gold Coast. It is for people who enjoy simple pleasures and going to sleep to the sounds of nature!

The next availability is from the the 4th to 30th Jan!

You can swim in the fresh seasonal dam (which is lush when it's full after rain) or paddle in the creek during the hotter months, laze away in the hammock or enjoy a fire in the pit under the stars or be at the beach in 12 minutes.

The open plan cabin has a small dining bar with 2 stools and a fully equipped kitchenette with everything you need to make a meal or enjoy a coffee.

The bedroom nook has a comfortable double bed, and we have added a single bed for a child or extra guest by special request, (see photos). So the cabin can sleep 3.

We welcome children, as we have them too!

There's a rustic yet comfortable bathroom next to the cabin complete with large hot water shower, vanity and compost toilet complete with towels & earth friendly soaps.

Please note: this property is on septic so we are 100% eco friendly. We provide natural soap & biodegradable dishwashing liquid. If it isn't earth friendly, it can't go down the drain. Thanks for caring for our planet , like we are trying too :)

FYI: We live in the house near the cabin and always respect guests privacy. There is self check in, yet we are happy to meet and greet you too and give you any local information if you need it. This means you may hear us and we may hear you at times, yet if it's a feeling of privacy in the hills you are looking for, we assure you they'll be less people here than in any hotel, motel, resort, caravan park and most places :)

We thank you for reviewing our place after your stay!

Rustic, rural, relaxing

Gorgeous little dwelling in the Bundjalung/Byron hinterland. The barn has a lovely feeling, small but with slanted roof, well positioned windows and doors that allow lots of light, a green leafy outlook and a pleasant breeze on hot days. The hosts are wonderful and easy to communicate with. The hosts' house is close by, so be aware of that and it is a rural setting, so be prepared to switch off and enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature!

Beautiful property and welcoming family

Emma and her family are very welcoming and accommodating. They are respectful of your space. The property is really beautiful and I love how they enjoy and treat their property . A real paradise for children. The chalet is clean, bright and sunny. It is located 6 meters from the family home which Emma acutely describes on the site. There is no phone coverage except for voderphone. There is however wifi during the day and evening. The stove is a bit slow to cook on and a very basic kitchen setup. The chalet is quite small so more suited for a short stay. A great place for a small family.

Hi there, we're a local Byron Shire family who love connecting to nature, which is why we bought this property.

We are in the early stages of developing a healthy, organic, self-sustainable little community on this beautiful 7 acre farm-let that we're blessed enough to call home.

As previous world travelers' we love welcoming people onto this land to enjoy the peace it brings.

We enjoy eco-friendly living and educating children and adults to become more empowered.

We live in the house near the cabin, but if we are not home during your stay, we will let you know and only be a phone call away.

We respect our guests privacy and you can check in and check out without us, but we and are also happy to meet and greet you, say hello and give you any local information.

We welcome small families and can provide a single bed or mattress for a child.

Why they chose this property

We love our hinterland property because it's away from the hussle and bussle and there's so much magnificent nature to be found here.

The Byron Shire Hinterland is a natural paradise where you can enjoy stunning beaches, georgous rivers, rainforest bushwalks, cool waterfalls, buzzing Byron, chilled Brunswick Heads, the colourful markets, and the many funky cafes.

For things to do you can: walk, cycle, swim, surf, play tennis, play golf, paddle board, go ballooning or skydiving, bushwalk, kayak, go whale watching, go scooting or skating, visit a festival, the markets, the local pubs or funky scene in Byron. There's a bit of everything that's good for you!

Relax, unwind and enjoy it!

What makes this property unique

Birdsong is a delightful, humble cabin, nestled in the Pocket valley surrounded by nature. You can refresh yourself with a dip in the seasonal rain water dam (if it's full) or the fresh water creek in hot weather.
Take a walk through the orchards on the other side of the property and pick some seasonal fruits! Enjoy the surrounding area with endless wonderful things to see and do or unplug and relax in a hammock to the sounds of birdsong, frogs and the flowing creek.

You can also book a relaxing massage from your hostess. But make sure you do this when you book to be sure of a spot.

Relax. Be in the present moment! Enjoy!
