Staying at the Water Cabin is like staying on your own luxurious boat, without the waves. It is built right on a large fish filled dam, only minutes from Lake Eildon and the holiday town of Goughs Bay. It is quite special and beautifully appointed with a superb outlook. You can stay home and relax on the deck and enjoy the 7 acre property and dam, or you can use the Cabin as a base for more adventurous pursuits around Lake Eildon, Mansfield or Mt Buller and the Victorian High Country. You will share the property with Dogtrot House, also available for rent under a separate listing.

It was a cute stay, my partner and I enjoyed being directly on the water, the bed was comfy and the linen were great! However, there were some quite impractical practical elements. It looked nice, however seemed like it was cheaply done. Draws under the bed didn’t slide properly and were sharp on their edges, cupboards also were sharp and didn’t close properly and my partner cut herself on the cupboard where the fridge was. The bathroom door was also a pain, as it didn’t open or close very easily and that resulted in me getting my fingers jammed in the door.
The canoe was a fun touch! Was definitely cute, however, a first aid kit wouldn’t be a bad idea.
