Thank you for your 5-star review! We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed the rustic charm of Holly Lodge. It’s a special place, and we’re glad it added something lovely to your stay. We’d love to welcome you back again anytime.
Holly Lodge is a great chalet which is well equipped, especially having 2 toilets. The fire and added heating were appreciated. Beds were comfortable and our stay although wet, was most enjoyable.

Thank you for your review! We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Holly Lodge and found it well-equipped and cosy—especially with the fire and extra heating during the wet weather. It's great that the two toilets and comfortable beds added to your experience. We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again soon.
We loved our stay at this house in Medlow Bath. It was so well appointed, cosy and just right for our stay. The only downside, it was too hot to have a fire in the potbelly stove.
We really enjoyed our stay at Holly Lodge as the lodge had all we needed plus more and the yard and environs of tall trees and birds visiting made our overseas family feel like they were having a truly Australian bush/ mountain experience. Great location and lots to do and see!
Communication and helpfulness of the managers were also a reason why we will come again!
Lovely house, everything easy to find. The only mild annoyances were the streaming services didn't work and the off street parking is very tight with just one car, if there were 2 or more it would probably be impossible.

Thank you for your great review, Kelly! We're so pleased you enjoyed the house and had a lovely weekend.
We apologise for the issues with the streaming services; we’ll look into this to ensure everything is working smoothly for future stays. Regarding the parking, we appreciate your feedback and will take this into account for guests with multiple cars.
We’d love to welcome you back again soon! 😊
Lovely property very clean and comfortable - but we would have loved to have had the open fireplace ( in the listing) available and not a do not use sign on it - and dry wood for the other fireplace which was a combustion type - very hard to toast our marshmallows!!! Good location with easy drive to all attractions but a steep walk to hydro majestic. Kids loved the games and toys.
We loved our stay at Holly lodge,5 adults for 4 nights, the lodge was well equipped with everything you could need, and a lovely location. My only moan would be about the cleanliness, I know it's a wooden lodge and everything below head Hight was very clean, it's just I'm an arachnaphobic and there are some very big webs in the eves. If I would of seen something living in those webs I would never of slept. I know it's only a small gripe but there is no need for them to be left about.

Poor maintenance- stay ruined.
We were very displeased with poor maintenance that lead to no heat in the main room. The main heater was shutting on and off. There was no heat in the main room and kitchen, which also meant no heat in the loft other than heated blankets. We attempted several times to start a fire but the firewood was damp and unable to light. It was so late that we decided to just try to go to sleep. My kids were wearing layers of clothes at night. The next morning we tried to get the heater going but it continued to shut on and off. We then saw that the filter light was blinking. My husband cleaned off the filter but the room was super cold. We checked for laundry facilities which was a priority for our stay. It was fine that it was in a shed outback but the door was blocked and could not open properly. By then after a terrible experience with no heat, we decided to leave as we had not heard back from an attempt to reach them through VRBO email. I offered to pay for the first night but requested to be reimbursed the other two nights as this was unacceptable. They inspected a few days later stating the wood was dry. ( I suspect it may have dried out days after we were there). They said the door was blocked by wood and easily opened, but we would not have had access to this as the back of the shed was locked and the door we had access to was blocked. They said heater was working which I’m sure it was but it has been malfunctioning until my husband figured out the filter was clogged.

Nicole emailed us at 10:51pm on the night of arrival and stated that the laundry door didn't open and that one of the heaters in the back room wasn't functioning properly and they couldn't start a fire as they believed the wood wasn't dry enough. Then she wrote that they wouldn't stay any longer and unless we refund the next two nights, they'd leave us a bad review.
We always strive to provide a guest experience that meets expectations, however, having only contacted us by email so late at night and no staff still up to read it, we really didn't get a chance to rectify these simple to fix issues and I strongly believe this guest just decided she didn't like the property and left.
It was only the night prior to Nicole's arrival that the guests sent a photo of a roaring log fire at Holly Lodge using the same wood supply.
Perhaps instructions on best practice to start a log fire might be a good addition to the check in details.
I also don't understand the wearing of clothes to bed when there's electric blankets on all the beds?
Had Nicole given us a chance to come around assess the situation whilst she was there, the issues raised would have been resolved on the spot, as it was merely a piece of wood that had fallen into the door track of the laundry shed and was removed easily. There's ample heaters to sufficiently keep the lodge warm even if one is faulty and with electric blankets, I cannot see how this group were cold. No guests have ever complained about not being warm at Holly Lodge. It almost felt like we were being held to ransom with a bad review unless we refunded Nicole. Unfortunately, not having been given an opportunity to address these minor and easily fixed issues, no refund was forthcoming.
All the best, Nicole.
Amazing stay with the family at Holly Lodge. Beautiful house, quiet surrounds and fully equipped for everything. Host was super accommodating considering sudden plan changes.
Holly Lodge was a nice comfortable place, 6 Adults and plenty of Room, the fires were good and plenty of wood, close to all shops and restaurants. there a been a lot of rain so parking cars in drive way was a challenge but all good
The house was beautiful, just as it appeared in the photos with a kitchen that was better equipped than my own. There was a huge fire place and the wooden interior made you feel like you were staying in a Swiss cabin. The forest surrounding the house had an atmosphere of pure serenity.
From a flawless check in process, to communication with the owners our stay at holly lodge was lovely.
We especially loved the verandah and the meaning seating options !
The upstairs loft allowed for a separate area when holidaying with family.
We loved the quaint cottage deep in a pine forrest, well removed from neighbours and noise. Wonderfully equipped with every item that you would have in your own home. Firewood generously supplied. Lots of notes to help you navigate and protect this much loved cottage. Loved the upstairs loft with a massive bedroom, with tasteful decoration.
this was a terrific base for going out on day hikes and exploring the area. We wish we had a chance to use the beautiful fireplace but it was summertime - we may need to come back!
