My daughter and I, plus 2 friends had a very nice stay at the Canal Quays (2 bedroom). There is a beautiful view of Table Mountain right outside our front door. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. We had a 3 day conference at the CTICC (Convention Center) and it was only a 5 minute safe walk from our apartment. Uber is the best way to get around and everything is close by (Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, etc.). Would come back to Canal Quays if we return to Cape Town.
The unit is very spacious with a fully equip kitchen (we only used the water kettle and microwave). Having a washer and dryer in the unit was nice. Thebuilding had 24 hour security persons at the front desk, and a FOB is required for entry/exit to the buildings public exterior doors and the elevator. Great location, it was an easy walk to the Battery Park V&A Waterfront via the pathway along the canal where you’ll find restaurants, coffee shops and a convenience store and if you walk a little further you’ll reach the V&A Waterfront where all the big restaurants, museums and tourist boat rides leave from. As far as safety goes, there seemed to be a V&A Waterfront Security person on every street corner. We had a great stay!
The property is nice and spacious but the master bed was very uncomfortable (very firm mattress) and the gate to access the V&A was locked at 8pm which meant a very unsafe walk around to the conference Center to access the property. If you are looking for convenience to be out late this is not the property you want.
Nice apartment with good kitchen and balcony. Good location for conference center. Plumbing issue resolved quickly. Company was not immediately on site and sometimes hard to get. Checkin is late and checkout early and no accommodation for variance or support for client which is frustrating for long stay. No facility for leaving luggage and no attempt meaningfully help find a solution. But overall a nice stay.
Nice to be able to walk to restaurants. The house was clean. We did not use the kitchen for cooking but it seemed well stocked. The only thing that could have been more clear was the check in process. The folks at the front desk asked us if someone was meeting us and we had not been informed that someone should be meeting us. It turned out fine as someone showed up shortly after our arrival, but I am still unclear as to how they even knew we were there. After a long day of travel we didn't really care. But all in all the place was very nice. Super spacious for 4 people. Comfortable bed (we used only the king). Large bathrooms and showers.
