We loved this gorgeous little property - clean and beautifully maintained with a short and easy walk to everything the Thames main street has to offer. Chris was an excellent and easy going host and of course Dingo was the star of our stay

Freddy and Nathan. We (Dingo and I) really enjoyed having you stay. Our first honeymoon couple, and you were breaths of fresh air. Travel well. Ngā mihi nui.
House is an interesting conversion in a historical part of Thames. We enjoyed local walks as well as exploring further. Chris is a great host who made us feel very welcome.

Clean and though the second floor has more than 10 steps but the place was cozy. Like to come back next time and would recommend to my friends.
Very warm welcome from Chris and Dingo. The apartment was spotless. Good kitchen appliances. Very nicely decorated throughout. Upstairs is the cosy bedroom with a king size confortable bed. Highly recommended.

Thank you for coming to stay Isabel and Richard. You were wonderful guests. So easy to talk to, and you left the apartment so clean and tidy. Travel well.
We loved staying at the property. The proximity to town was great, the beds were very comfy, the character and charm of the interior was fabulous, the bathroom was a great size with a large shower (and really good water pressure), the kitchen had everything that we needed and the provisions Chris left for us in the fridge and fruit bowl were very much appreciated. The two bedrooms are upstairs, there are about 18 stairs to climb to reach the upper level. The stairs are wooden and slightly narrow. We would certainly recommend this property to others who are looking to stay in the Thames area.
Chris was an excellent host and the property was exceptionally tidy, modern and well catered for. Our two girls had a great time walking with Dingo and Chris and it was lovely of him to offer. We would recommend this place to anyone and will absolutely be returning! Thanks again and we will be back :-)

Paul, Alysha, Lilly and Lara were my first guests. Who could have wished for more. They were just the best - engaging parents with two wonderful daughters with whom I corresponded by notes under the door. My good dog Dingo adored them - they threw frisbee for her to catch and a ball. They left my place spotless!!! Paul and Alysha are visitors I would recommend to any host. I would so like to see you all back if you come this way again.
Chris was the perfect host and his batch has everything you need, comfortable, quiet and with sun pouring in for breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Alan and Karin, the joy of being a host is meeting wonderful, engaging people like you two. Thank you for being so engaging - it was such a pleasure having you stay.
A gorgeous, newly renovated two story small house within a 10-15 minute walking distance of Thames shops. I loved the sunny bedrooms upstairs which feel like you’re in the treetops. There is a proper kitchen and a washing machine, a small deck and easy parking. The host, Chris, is very helpful but not intrusive, and has a real eye for beauty in the house design and decoration, so it’s beautiful. One caution is the steep staircase, which would be difficult for anyone with balance issues.

Thank you for your gracious comments Jude. I enjoyed having you and Zoe to stay, and yes, the stairs are a little steep. I love the sounds of the birds when you get upstairs. Thank you so much for leaving the apartment so clean and tidy. If you send me your address, I will courier the cushion back to you. Take care.
Funky decor, good communication with Chris and Dingo was cute. Thanks

About the host

I am NZ born from a little district named Galatea. I have lived in Thames for the three years I have spent renovating this property that I hope you will enjoy staying in. I live in the front part of this old dairy as a separate residence. My part of the building is set up to make furniture. My career has spanned teaching, working in the melters of a steel mill, representing workers, facilitating educational courses on line and face to face .....
Why they chose this property
When I purchased this property it was as ugly as!! I saw the potential to change a white, leaky cement board building into a modern workshop/living space for me and Dingo my red heeler mate. It had the height I needed to throw timber around and was close to all of the amenities I liked - bike trails, the sea, walking, history etc. I have been able to set up a wonderful space for visitors to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Proximity to great beaches on this coast and over the ranges to the east coast a short drive away. Great walking and biking tracks so close by. The climate is pleasant, sometimes a little wet :).
