Having a spacious home for my family getaway was exactly what we got. The home is well loved and the history there is evident. The kids loved being able to visit each room and the sunrises on the porch was exactly what the grown ups needed. Could not have asked for a better place!

We had a wonderful time....this place was very unique... we were a little surprised at how many spider webs there were....seems like those should have been cleaned up before we got there

We are pleased to know that you had a wonderful time. We apologize, we have a housekeeper going out today.
The only complaints were the inability to lock doors (porch and kitchen entries to house) and the inability to use the pool table due to heavy mildew . wet smell

My family stayed for a two night trip on a weekend. What a great location! It’s a quick drive into downtown. The inn was clean. The space was so nice! We loved the ample seating, in the house, outside, on the front porch. That front porch made for a great hang out spot! We loved that they had cornhole and a pool table. The table isn’t in great condition but it plays well and we spent a lot of time playing. Because it’s an old place, some of the outlets in bedrooms didn’t charge our devices at night, and the door to the front of the house couldn’t be locked. But those were our only complaints and honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. We had a lovely time!
First off, what a cool property with a ton of history. The front porch is a perfect place to chill out with a drink in hand. The property was clean and had exactly what was listed available. The grill was very dirty from previous guests but we made it work (and cleaned it before leaving). Bring your own bbq tools though! We couldn’t figure out how to get the AC to work but there are windows galore and so many fans around the house. We loved the location. Just a few minute drive into town. We had 7 adults and 2 kids, and we had a few extra beds to spare. Lots of space for hanging out, inside and out. The pool table has seen better days but it works, and we spent a lot of time playing that and cornhole (which they also have at the house). Two fridges so you have plenty of room for drinks and food. If we visit the area again, we’d definitely try to book here.

Thank you for taking time to reviewing this property.
We apologize for the grill and lack of utensils. We would have brought some to you. We are glad that you found the lake breeze, fans and windows good for cooling the home.
The listing does indicate no A/C.
Local family needed a place to stay while work was being done on their house. The Swiss Inn had a enough bedrooms for separate sleeping spaces at a tolerable price point so we tried it for a week. We were going about our daily lives, not in vacation mode. The bedrooms were generous and there was enough space for my large family to spread out. The kids enjoyed the pool table despite it's condition. The old photographs of the house are neat. Some cons - doing laundry was a challenge due to the configuration of the washer and dryer. There also seems to be a back up in the laundry room sink - I had to bail it out a few times over the week as it filled up when the washer was in use and then wouldn't drain. The water softener didn't recycle until midway through our stay, so the water was very hard (undrinkable) and made dishwashing difficult. There were mouse droppings on the downstairs bed upon our arrival and we saw a mouse scurry back and forth under the sitting furniture near the stairs several times on our final night. The screen on the sliding door fell off - that and several of the interior doors were barely functional. On our departure date the cleaning woman arrived prior to check out time and sat in her vehicle while we loaded up. Overall, while the house is unique and old, it is in need of some maintenance. I realize this is tricky when trying to maintain the character. If you're looking for lots of space at a reasonable price point it fits the bill.
First, on a positive note, the property accommodated all of us. However, no door on the first floor bedroom. Kitchen access door did not lock. The front door had a note on it to not turn the lock. On our first night we were greeted by a bat that entertaining but somewhat unsettling. There was no note to enable the wi-fi connection to the internet. My son found a way then we found the pw in a coffee cup in the cupboard. The pool table was an attractive feature but patched with duck tape and the cue sticks were almost unusable. Important because son, nephew, great nephew wanted to play me and beat me. Traveled to a local pub/bowling alley to have the matches. Of course they lost. Didn't know the docks opposite the facility were part of an association. The annual fee is $75. Wasn't paid. We were not supposed to utilize. Son had worked with one of the neighbors in NYC. Worked out. Overall, the facility is not well maintained. Otherwise we would rent again!
This house & property was absolutely amazing! The front porch & lake view across the street was our favorite aspect of this property. The house had enough bedrooms to accommodate our ever growing family & it felt like it took us back in time. I tried researching about it & the original family but came up short. The character of the house & layout were amazing. It didn’t get dark until after 10pm which was crazy especially when trying to convince 3 little girls it was bedtime!
You definitely need to bring fans as there is no air conditioning as stated in the description, & there were only two fans provided. There are way more ammenities provided than what it states. More towels than it says they provide. The kitchen is super stocked!
We only have a few complaints. 1 was the front door was very hard to lock & unlock. 2nd while the top surfaces were clean, the house needs a deep deep good cleaning. Under tables & chairs & along the baseboards was extremely dirty. If we had something of the kids roll under anything we didn’t even want to reach under to retrieve it. Last I have never had to wash dry & fold provided towels or strip beds anywhere I have ever stayed. I looked but did not see that in the checkout description on the site. We only saw that on the paper on the refrigerator. It states those things are not part of the cleaning crews job. It certainly should be. All that being said, we would definitely stay here again! Great location and so much to do!
