Cozy home right off Main Stret

This home that the owners have cleverly dubbed the “stones throw from Main” what is the perfect place to spend a week in the mountains of North Carolina. It was easy to walk to coffee, lunch and dinner. The home was well appointed and comfortable and perfect for my needs. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!

It’s small but exactly what I wanted. My son stayed with us for a couple of nights and my grandkids stayed on the futon, so while only 2 bedrooms, there was still plenty of room for us all. The fenced in yard was perfect for my 3 small dogs and it was convenient to everything. I would definitely stay here again.

Visit to Grandchildren

The home was great. It was perfectly sized for me and my husband. The house was so close to downtown (just around the corner); we had a great dinner at the Japanese restaurant. The kitchen, while tiny, was perfect for bacon and for appetizers when our family came over to visit. The host was very responsive. This home is very charming and we will book again. Strongly recommend.

Living with mice

We loved the location and the accommodations were what we expected. A couple of days in, we saw a mouse run by while we were watching tv in the living room. We closed up where it went to and contacted the property manager a couple of times, and they never contacted us back nor did anything about it… The location is great, but mice in the home is too much for me.

Great location

This little cottage is in a great location. We walked downtown several times. Night strolls through downtown were a nice, quiet and relaxing end to the day. We loved the rockers on the front porch. Sitting there drinking our coffee in the mornings or relaxing at the end of the day was nice. While there, we visited Maggie Valley, Cherokee and hiked Waterrock Knob off the Blue Ridge Parkway. All were short drives. The one thing I would like to point out is that the parking is in what looks like a vacant lot behind the house, not a driveway. It took us a minute to figure this out. Once we figured it out, it was very easy to park with a shade tree to park under.

Weekend Getaway

Overall, our experience was pleasant. We stayed here while visiting our daughter at WCU. It was nice to be able to walk to shops and restaurants. We traveled with 3 adults and 2 dogs. Yard was perfect for our two dogs to run around. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. However, there was a slight dog smell in the place. Noticeable that other dogs were recently there or have been in there frequently. Another noticeable thing... that I don't think anyone else previously mentioned, and if they did I completely missed it is the "road noise". The house is situation on a main road, that you wouldn't know by looking at the photos. This wasn't a terrible thing but if you're a light sleeper, this could be a big issue. Cars seem to be racing up the street late at night and early in the morning. Coffee pots were great, we didn't use anything else as we were only there for the weekend so we ate out.

Adorable house with all amenities, comfortable beds, plenty of parking, lovely yard, and one block from the amazing and wonderful Main Street Waynesville. We loved the privacy while being close to anything we could possibly need, and it felt safe and peaceful.

Stones throw

When we arrived we noticed there were only two clean towels that were available for our use. Someone promptly brought over a bin placed on porch for us. The toilet never stopped running. A lightbulb was missing from the bedside lamp. Only a few coffee pods were there for our use. We never could get the living room tv to work. It just didn’t feel like the house was ‘loved’ or that we were truly welcomed. It was clean and very walkable, however.

Great location, but

We stayed here when it was owned by another person and really enjoyed the stay. This time we got there and one of the TV's was missing, a call to the manager got that resolved quickly but the person that put it in said we had to use our ROKU account to use the TV. The TV in the bedroom was already set-up with ROKU so not sure why we had to log on. One of the bedside lamps had no bulb, mentioned that but it wasn't resolved. Lamp in the living room went on and off on it's own, mentioned but unresolved as well. One of the chairs in the living room was very unstable and appeared to be on the point of breaking. Lastly the back door was extremely hard to lock/unlock and that was where the lockbox was. The place was clean and had plenty of dish/silver ware. This is a great place with the exception of the things listed above.

A++++ location and house in Waynesville

Once we saw that Waynesville was open to visitors We booked last minute to come up for apples and to enjoy the Apple Festival. This property was perfect! One block off Main Street and walking distance to the festival and downtown Waynesville with lots of neat stores and restaurants. Very clean, bed was really nice--much more comfortable than most rentals. We didn't use the twin in the 2nd room but I assume it was just as nice. WIFI and cable TV were excellent--included local channels and ESPN! (Hubs was happy!) The kitchen was fully stocked--we were only here three nights so I didn't cook but looked around and there was even an Instant Pot!!! If you're here for apple season make sure to go to Barber Orchards store. Apples, pastries, cider, etc. Best we've found anywhere. If you're a book lover, Sylva has City Lights (new and used) and the Friends of the Library has a wonderful store in downtown-well organized with a huge selection and great prices. Two suggestions--make sure you bring shampoo and hand soap as that was the only thing missing. Luckily we always carry the hotel samples so not an issue; also, when you get to the house turn down the side street---the parking is in the back. Tons of space and easily accessible. We had to go around the block as we thought parking was in front. All in all---one of the better properties we have stayed at; we hope to stay there again on a future trip.

Cute, Comfy and Close to Town

We knew the location and since dog friendly we knew it would be perfect for our quick jaunt to Waynesville. The house was very roomy and clean. Plenty of towels and a well stocked kitchen. It is an older home so it has its little quirks but that’s part of its charm. No dishwasher was no problem for us as washing a couple of mugs and cereal bowls was simple. A fenced area was a bonus. If it had been cooler we’d have enjoyed it more. If your goal is to be able to enjoy the shops and restaurants without driving your car, this is your place. We were pleasantly surprised that despite being on a busy street, we weren’t bothered by the noise. Maybe a rock house is a good insulator. Also, since no other homes are close, you can enjoy the TV and not worry if your dog decides to bark a bit. We had a small issue which was handled quickly and didn’t impact our visit much. The host was quick to respond. We will visit again.
