Beautiful location! A lot of plant growth in the water right by the dock, but paddle out just a little bit and the water was amazing. Kids enjoyed the ping pong table and canoes. Kid and pet friendly! We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful family getaway

Everything was perfect for our little family getaway on lake Conroe. The house was everything promised in the pictures and listing. The dogs even had a great time.

The property was very relaxing and exactly what I expected. Everything was clean. Kitchen had everything you needed and a variety of coffee making machines. It was nice to be able to kayak on a calm part of the lake. The water was nice. They have a generator which was really nice because the power went out briefly for a storm so it was like nothing happened. This makes me want to rent the house when I know a big storm is coming. :)

Wonderful, private lakeside retreat for the whole family, including dogs. Close enough to the city to drive but feels so far away. Can’t wait to return!

Absolutely lovely breath of fresh air-who knew such lakeside privacy could be so close to our big city! What we loved is being on this northeast branch of Lake Conroe where our view across the water is undeveloped forest. We had several daily rows up to the lake head where it felt like we were in a rainforest. The owners are so generous to let us bring our 2 dogs-hard to find on other rentals. They even have a very large dog run if we wanted to use it. Our dogs loved all the space-even swimming alongside the canoe! The property and house are very spacious-the neighboring houses quite a distance-we really were able to be out in nature by ourselves and in a comfortable home with several sitting and dining areas. Bed and bathrooms are very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked - the owners have lovely taste in high quality cooking and dishware-we felt at home! Would recommend over and over!

Nice house but poor management (communication and upkeep)

The property itself was very nice, however the instructions to get in were not even close to accurate. It was after 6pm and both the phone # and email provided by Evolve for help bounced and no call returned. We thought we were scammed! We got a paddle to brush some of the cobwebs off the outside and accidentally found the lock box- 45 minutes after arriving in record heat AND nowhere near where we were told it was! Once inside, the house appeared very clean (unlike the back patio) BUT the lower level was 86 degrees and the upper 90 degrees. It took 3 hours to cool down!! It did not appear we were expected at all. Small animals were heard in an upstairs bedroom wall at night, lots of cobwebs were behind the curtains on the INSIDE of bedroom windows, downstairs kitchen windows were covered in old, dark cobwebs and unsightly. It looked like the patio table may have been cleaned off but the rest of the patio area was loaded with old, dirty cobwebs and spiders. Yes, it's a lakehouse, but other properties near us were not near as unkept. Suggest a different cleaning crew for the outside. Again the house would have been great - I believe it was not properly managed. The owner should be aware. Oh - I did get a text from a different person the following afternoon asking how our check in was. He got an earful and returned a lot of excuses and lack of accountability. I would steer clear from any property managed by Evolve, which we didn't know until after we booked on VRBO.
