We had a beautiful stay! This place was clean, and the ad aligned with what was available when we arrived. The kitchen was stacked with everything I needed to make a beautiful birthday buffet for our group. The back deck is a perfect place to enjoy food and drinks while taking in the beautiful view of the lake. The private dock served for meditations in the morning, group hangs during the day and a spectacular view of a very full moon. The sunroom with the pool table was so much fun. The host was very responsive. I have never visited Bob's Lake - this is a hidden gem in calm area that I highly recommend. 10 out of 10 with some very special memories made.

Great location across the street from Bob's Lake

Excellent communication with owner and the cottage does require a walk down a very steep pathway to get to the water. The 2 kayaks provided and lifejackets, paddles were in excellent condition and it is possible to swim off the dock with a ladder. Since the dock sits high, it is tricky to launch a kayak, but can be done. The additional screen room is huge and has a pool table which is great for larger groups.

It was a great experience! Loved our stay at the place! Would have loved the staircase ti have some sort of slip protection as it was very steep.

I think this property has great potential, but unfortunately, many details are lacking. The space was not clean (floors, ceilings, and windows all needed attention), and the furniture was very worn and in poor condition, which made it less inviting for a relaxing weekend.Another challenge was that no bedding was provided, which is difficult when traveling from another province by plane.We did enjoy the pool table, although it wasn’t level, which made playing a bit tricky.The highlight of our stay was definitely spending time on the dock and taking out the canoe and kayaks. While the lake does have quite a few weeds, it was still beautiful to paddle around and enjoy the scenery.

Fantastic

We are return clients having enjoyed our stay last year. The cottage is clean , has all the necessary conveniences and the host is responsive to communication The entire family was happy with the location and surrounding beauty. The dock had improvements that made docking our boat much easy and was nice to fish from.

Disappointing

We spent a few nights here, over all experience was OK. first of all, all 5 screens in the bedrooms came out of the window each night, we all got eaten alive by mosquitos. All the beds feel like your getting a spring in the back, When trying to cook breakfast, the pans are all way to small. No big pans, no scissors, all the knives where dull and more dangerous to use, we tried to use the oven one day and it started to smoke and fill the whole house with poisonous smoke, oven cleaner must have been left in the oven. it was no ordinary smoke, it made all 5 of us puke. wasn't able to be in the place for a few hours. All the pool cues weren't straight, no chalk for the cues. As for the listing, there are no pictures of the 3rd bedroom or 2nd bathroom.

peaceful spot overlooking Bob's Lake

Property was pretty much as listed with generous indoor and outdoor space. Enjoyed the deck for lounging, grilling and dining. Ventured down to the dock to take in surroundings but a bit early for swimming, and our group not into kayaking - but they're there. Pleasant spot on the lake. A few minor issues which I have addressed with the host, Newton. Minor creature comfort additions or upgrades needed but he assures me they will be dealt with immediately. Also said he would improve communications with housekeeper to ensure adequate linens. Our only real gripe was that we could not, despite our best efforts, get the TV to work for the NHL playoffs games. We did contact Newton, but his advice for streaming it did not help despite having a couple tech savvy guys on the case. Didn't go there to watch TV all weekend but 5 hockey fans couldn't get our playoff fix. (The WIFI itself was quite strong - no issues with it). Newton has promised to leave detailed instructions for future guests, so hopefully nobody else will miss any events that are important to them. Overall an enjoyable weekend for our annual buds getaway - just had to play more poker :)

Nice property but there were disappointments. Couldn’t access water. Beds not comfortable.

We were not able to stay. A beautiful cottage. So many nice things. But Beds-mattress in master and the double still have the packing plastic on. Way too hot and loud to sleep on. Cannot comment on comfort of the mattress as it was in the high 30’s humidex when we arrived so we could not sleep on them. We tried the single in the room where the double is—rock. We ended up sleeping on the two white headboard beds in back bedroom. Still not comfortable for one of us but putting four layers of the dog fleece under the hips helped. The steps coming in where the lockbox is in the poolroom—-they are not to code. There should be another step with that depth to the ground—-and there needs to be a railing. It is dangerous for elderly, those with challenges and children. (Thank you for the grab bar in the main floor tub!} either the tv does not work or there are no batteries in the remote. We could not check it as the remote has been taped shut. We could not use the canoe or swim—the dock is too high and there are no stairs nor ground access to get into the water. We are seasoned kayakers in Lake Erie but couldn’t use the canoe. Please provide some more lighting close to the furniture for reading at night or a bedside lamp to read. Linens—please be specific (bring blankets) . It was quiet after the construction stopped and very pleasant. Enjoyed multiple decks. Kitchen well appointed. Towels appreciated. No refund given when we had to leave due to lack of sleep and no water access
