There were pros and cons to this cabin. The initial walk in was terrible. We walked into a dirty cabin because their cleaning people no called. I spent the first two hours trying to get someone to answer the phone and handle the situation. Once they got someone to come clean (cleaning lady was the most friendly and amazing person, even gave us hiking suggestions. Her name was Angie and she was fabulous) the stay was good. It’s very child friendly. Lots of toys for the kids and baby gates and baby accommodations. The cabin does need some updating and it’s very cluttered. Like two microwaves with one missing the plate. And the coffeemaker needs a really deep clean. We ended up doing a vinegar clean in order to feel comfortable using it. But the views are amazing and it is in a great location.
We enjoyed our time at Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains. We enjoyed Cades Cove and lots of trails. The only thing we did not like was the one way road to get to the house.
We did see a bear off in the woods around the house.
House has sooo many thing inside. Hard to even walk around
Bedsheet was so dirty
Infact pretty much whole house seems very dirty and has some kind of weird smell.
Hopefully owner removes all unwanted decorations and spend few $ to clean will make this house great stay.
Poorly managed, cluttered and not cleaned well, and as a result - infested with bees!
The condition of the house left us dismayed. Poor cleaning was evident throughout with a stench of cigarette smoke and mold. The house was cluttered throughout. I found my bed surrounded by a collection of 24 dead yellow jacket bees. The smell of bug spray was in the air. Despite our apprehensions about the chemicals, clutter, mold, and bees - we cleaned up, set up fans, and tried to make the best of it.
That night, I was stung by a bee while sleeping, right in the stomach. Upset, I promptly contacted the property manager the following day to express all my distress. His response, a mere apology, hardly addressing the seriousness of the situation.
The second night my friend in the adjacent room was stung on her face, leaving her in pain and unable to sleep. Her face remained swollen, a painful reminder of the hazards we were facing. It was then that the property manager finally admitted that they had recently treated the house for bees; yet he also admitted he had not bothered to verify the success of the treatment.
Later, a 7-year-old child also fell victim to a bee sting, his very first, on his foot. Thankfully, he wasn't allergic. Our final night was marked by anxiety and sleeplessness, especially worrying that my 21-month-old twins could be stung and have an allergic reaction.
I voiced my extensive concerns and anxieties to the property manager. He made no genuine effort to secure an alternative solution to move us out of the house to prioritize our well-being.

Hi Brian, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
- Thank you for choosing to stay in my home and leaving a review, as guest feedback is vitally important to the success of my vacation rental business.
- I want to assure you that cleanliness is a top priority for me. The dedicated cleaning team works diligently to maintain the property between guests. While you didn't directly mention cleanliness issues, your feedback is invaluable, and I'm committed to using it to improve our services.
- I also promptly addressed the basement smell, which was from a guest who spilled a can of beer, with a carpet steam cleaning and I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Please know that we don't allow smoking in our home, and there's no evidence of mold.
- I would like to express my understanding of your concerns and the frustration you must have felt during your stay. Regarding the bees, you mentioned that there were 24 dead bees surrounding your bed, but we found no bees in that room when cleaning began, nor were there any when you left. The only evidence provided to us during your stay was a picture of a single bee.
- Please know that pest control was called in before your arrival to address the bee issue. I have always been transparent about the treatment and verification, supported by invoices from pest control confirming the absence of evidence and my regular property inspections to ensure guest safety.
- I understand the frustration you faced and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused during your stay.
I truly go above and beyond for my guests and am confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
