Vancouver Island Ocean Front Suite - Hike, Bike, Visit Wineries or Just Relax!
This is a spacious private suite of approximately 1100 square feet that can comfortably host 4 people. Private ground floor entry and keypad ensures you can come and go at your convenience. The patio faces north to Osbourne Bay giving a beautiful view of the ocean and all the ferry and boat activity. It's a comfortable, shady spot in the heat of summer. Easy access to the Crofton Sea walk and hiking trails. In warm weather and if the tide is out you can walk up the hill to the off leash dog park then walk back on the beach.
Included in the suite:
Full toiletries, premium bedding, complete kitchen with coffee, tea, spices, oils and condiments supplied, full size fridge, dishwasher and in-suite laundry facilities all provided within. Kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots & frying pans, small appliances (blender, small mixer, toaster, electric kettle, Tassimo coffee machine and drip coffee maker), dishes, flatware and serving and mixing bowls. Flat screen tv with cable. Wifi code provided in suite.
In-floor heat keeps the space warm in the winter while north facing ocean breezes cool it in the summer. The common space, bedroom and bathroom each have their own thermostats for your comfort. The patio looks out over Osborne Bay and has a loveseat and 2 chairs around a gas firepit, a dining table with 4 chairs, and a gas bbq, all for your private use.
There is one security camera on the outside of the house that shows the sidewalk coming down, but there are NO OTHER CAMERAS, not in the suite or that show your patio. Your patio space is very private.
Our suite is clean and safe for you! When you arrive there will be a supply of masks, gloves, wipes and hand sanitizer for your personal use. We want you to enjoy your stay here in Crofton on Vancouver Island and to be comfortable in our home!
Guest access:
Parking is on right hand side of the driveway, off the street. Extra street parking is available. Our property is ocean front however we sit on a bank with a steep drop off so it may not be suitable for all ages of children. We also have a 4' fish pond located by our front door. If you are travelling with children please enquire before booking.
We aim to be present when you arrive but this isn't always possible. Access to the suite is by keypad so you can come and go as you please. We like to meet our guests but also give them space and privacy.
Other things to note:
There aren’t any steps going down to or in the suite. The sidewalk is well-lit but has a definite downward slope. The inside of the suite is completely at ground level.
Crofton is a very friendly small town. Access to the beach & the Crofton Sea Walk is a 3 minute walk from the suite; one direction takes you across a board walk to a family friendly beach park while walking in the other direction takes you along a graveled path right on the shore to another board walk to the ferry parking lot to Salt Spring Island and to downtown Crofton. It's a popular place for a nice stroll any time of day! There's also a pickleball court within easy walking distance from our home. There are many hiking and biking trails all around Crofton. There is plenty to see right from your patio - eagles, ducks and geese, the ferry, barges and freighters coming and going, or just the sea walk directly below. In easy walking distance there are 2 pubs, 2 convenience stores, a liquor store and 2 coffee shops.

Located in North Cowichan, this holiday home is in the city centre and on the beach. Salt Spring Saturday Market and Duncan Farmers Market are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore The Raptors and Wallace Island Marine Provincial Park. We are fully retired and love travelling around the world. We like to meet our guests but this isn't always possible.
Why they chose this property
Crofton is a small, friendly, quiet little town. Our home overlooks the ocean on Osborne Bay, it's a lovely spot to sit and watch people strolling along the sea walk, or all the activity on Osborne Bay - the eagles, ducks and geese, the ferry coming and going to Salt Spring Island, boaters launching from the marina, and barges and freighters coming and going. It's also very walkable: to downtown Crofton and its pubs and stores, to the beach park and to an off leash dog park that is also ocean front. If the tide is out you can walk to the dog park and then walk on the beach back to the house.
