A fabulously quirky property in a quiet location near the beach and handy for Seal Bay and Flinders Chase. We particularly loved the ‘throne room’ looking out over the trees!
"Rustic" and "Quirky" might describe this small haven in the Melaleucas at Vivonne Bay. A well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed and quiet location. Suited us very well. Improvements? Perhaps heating could be augmented for a cold winter and microwave moved from top of fridge to shelf underneath the air fryer so that short people could access it easier. Very enjoyable stay.
A unique stay in a quirky beach house. Super comfortable bed with lovely linen. Creatively decorated.Great location close to a beautiful beach. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for a couple.
What a wonder, naturally beautiful, a short walk to the amazing Vivonne bay beach. The most comfortable bed, an understanding of great coffee (provided!) Glamorous new bathroom!
Such a unique and cleverly designed retreat in a beautiful location close to the beach with a range of sights and activities nearby. Hosts are kind and thoughtful. Would recommend and would love to go back one day. Thank you!
If you want to be away from it all, this property is for you! It was amongst the melaleucas, and I couldn't even see the neighbouring properties. Focus was definitely on eco-friendly.The bed was very comfortable, the property has some quirky features.
It was such a homely place to stay! The fireplace and kitchen made it so nice and cosy. Loved also the fact there was good coffee available- huge bonus and really essential! Only thing I would recommend is to leave the house instructions booklet on the main table in the open- took us a little while to find it.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful place! Definitely a piece of paradise
A beautiful, unique and tranquil place to stay. The tree studded garden was lovely day and night. Felt like we were away from everyone. It was walking distance to the beach and a short drive to the General Store where we bought the Famous KI Whiting Burger and took it back to enjoy in the garden. Also reasonably close to Flinders Chase National Park. The host was great and responded quickly to any queries we had. We had a great time.
I absolutely loved this gorgeous home. It was a great 5 day stay, walking to the beautiful beach, so much to see and do. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! The home had everything you need, really great provisions including coffee 😍 I really was super impressed. The bed was so comfy and the linen!! Omgs! The linen was beautiful! I felt very held in this space, it was exactly what I needed for a week away to recharge xxxx thank you

Hi Michael, I'm sorry that you were disappointed with our property. I advise that in future, when booking accommodation, you read the property description and carefully view the photos prior to booking. As you booked as two gyests, the second bedroom was unavailable; however, we are always happy to accommodate your needs. We want to ensure our guests are well lookied after. As we heard no word from you, we weren't able to accommodate your needs. We do require clear communication when changes are requested. In regards to the lounge, we state in the description that the lounge is located in the loft, accessible by a ladder. I'm sorry you weren't able to access the loft but we made every effort to ensure that the description is clear so that guests are aware of the uniqueness of our property. Melaleuca Mansion is an amazing property, set on a bush block. Due to it's natural setting, the paths meander amongst trees. Many guests enjoy and value this aspect of the property. It's quiet, secluded yet very close to the river and beach. I sincerely hope that you were still able to enjoy your holiday and sorry our property wasn't what you expected. Kind regards, Heidi.
Okay, picture this, Grandpa and two of his grandchildren on a visit to Kangaroo Island at the Melaleuca Mansion. Grandpa gets the big bed in the house and the kids get the bunk beds in the bunkhouse.First off location: Fabulous and so close to what must be the best beach in South Australia. The kids loved the breakers and the uncrowded beach was magnificent. We even saw a seal surfing the waves on our last day.Parking: Handy off street parking and a short walk down a path through the Melaleucas to the main cottage and/or bunkhouse.Cottage: Wonderful rustic and comfortable. Excellent bathroom (great water pressure), interesting loo (very eco) and lots of cooking utensils and supplies.Bunkhouse: A bit basic, one of the boys is quite tall and found the bunk bed a bit short.Wifi: With two young boys wifi was a must and connection in the cottage was great. unfortunately the bunkhouse was out of range. Possibly an extender for the wifi could fix that.Nature: we had lots of birds visit and in the evening the occassional wallaby would pass through the Melaleucas.Comfort: The main bed was great, lounge chairs very comfy. However, it was quite hot while we were there and there are only 2 freestanding fans on site. The house wasn't too bad but the bunkhouse was quite hot. Would be good to have a couple of airconditioners installed.Host: Great communication from Heidi. All in all, we loved it and the kids had a great time.
