We loved the lake and hot tub. Wish the hill wasn't so steep. We loved our stay. There was a nail going into the upstairs bedroom threw the main bedroom. My son stepped on it, but he did not get cut. May need to fix that soon. FYI Thanks for a wonderful stay
Great place to stay with everything you need for a relaxing break, clean, private and peaceful. Things to consider before booking-steep path to the waters edge (we managed them fine but anyone with poor mobility may struggle), house is a home not a show house so the finish is not perfect in places and the third downstairs bedroom is not really a bedroom-it’s a cleverly utilised space in the front entrance area with two sets of bunk beds. Gabriel’s Cottage is remote, you will need to drive at least 15mins to amenities. Top tip - the nearby Golf Club (Riverdale) allows non members to use their Bar and Restaurant and is very good, don’t waste your time or money at Mom’s Restaurant. Don’t let these slight negatives put you off, there are a million more positives just look at the pictures, but they are worth pointing out.
Great cottage property with lots of space! The house was good for 6 friends with a large kitchen. The wifi was very reliable. We appreciated the distance between neighbours so we didn’t feel like we were bugging anyone. The cottage could’ve been cleaner and better stocked with plates and cups and etc.
We spend 3 nights at Gabriel's cottage. We had a good Time . Positive aspects; Beauty of the site, the the outside space; patio, SPA, dock, ... However there is a very steep trail to reach the dock. There is one peddle and ONE kayak .. (I wish we had 2). The fridge and the shower were dirty when we got there. The rest was ok and the bedding were clean et smelled good. No board Games and very few toys as it says. But all in all a great place and a Nice stay
test was oktest es ok.
Trust your GPS! The winding road to the cottage will get you there! Our adult family of 7 enjoyed our stay at Gabriel’s cottage. The hammocks were perfect for all sizes and we used the hot tub, volleyball net and fire pit often. As advertised there is no oven but the “baking bbq” did its job just fine. The hill to the lake is steep but once you make it down the lake is beautiful. Beds were clean and comfortable. My suggestion to the host is to make a few minor modifications for the perfect guest experiences: tea towels to dry dishes, extra basics like toilet paper, garbage bags and light bulbs. Cover the outlets and fill in a few wall holes for the extra wow factor and would make the cottage a little less rustic. Overall we had a great experience though!
My family of 2 boys, my husband and our dog had an amazing time here to finish up our summer before school started. My boys fished almost the entire time! They caught a bunch of perch and some bass. We had a blast using the peddle boat, my 7 yr old steered it the entire time so he felt super proud! Our dog even went for a ride with us, it was so fun! I always enjoy kayaking but these kayaks were especially comfy and an easy smooth and peaceful ride. We also enjoyed the brand new hot tub overlooking the gorgeous view of the private lake. The screened in seating area was perfect at night to keep the bugs away and it had pretty lighting. My husband enjoyed cooking on the nice clean grill and my boys loved the toy axe throwing game right on the deck off of the house. Every night we finished with the hot tub and sitting around the fire. There were cute hammocks everywhere, a ton of seating and lounge chairs, a swing for the kids, a trampoline and also a badminton net set up ready to play. The walkway from the house to the water was so pretty, super cool but super steep. We did have neighbors but couldn’t see anyone except one house but it was pretty far away and hidden with trees etc. The road to the cottage is gravel/dirt/grass and got super steep at one point so just be cautious. And also there is no Wi-Fi until u get into to the cottage and enter the Wi-Fi info. The inside of the cottage was great too! We only wish we had more time to spend here, already planning the next trip!
