Don’t hesitate to stay here!
We had an absolutely great time staying here. It was so smooth and so easy from booking to communicating. Owner is very flexible. House was clean, well prepared, had tons of entertainment for children, and screened in porch was a great addition too! There’s a little backyard with a swingset. Plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, and everything you could possibly need! We will stay here again when in the area! Thank you for great accommodations!
The location was perfect for the activities the kids were interested in. The home was cozy and the rooms were spacious. The kitchen was large enough for entertaining and we enjoyed the option of the enclosed outside patio.

A wonderful family vacation
This home was very beautiful and accommodated our family of 11! The home basically had everything that a family would need and the children loved the variety of games. It is in a very quiet and beautiful location. Don’t hesitate…book this home!!!!
Overall we had a pleasant stay in this beautiful home. The kitchen met all of our needs when preparing thanksgiving dinner. The home was kid friendly with it's arcade games, bunk beds, twin beds, books, board games and swing set. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The house gives off a very cozy feel. We were very happy to rent this property.
The location of the property was what we needed. There were several issues with the house. The kitchen definitely needs to have more silverware and dishes. There were ONLY 2 coffee mugs, 6 forks and no serving dishes!!! I had to go out and buy serving bowls and forks! Several of the pans were in bad condition. They would not even sit level on the burner. The handles need to be fixed. Also, taking the trash to another location is an inconvenience. Overall, the house was fine for a long weekend.

From the owner: "Thank you for choosing our home for your long weekend getaway. We’re so glad to hear the house and location were just what you needed for your stay. Being right between the water park and the slopes makes it easy to enjoy everything the resort has to offer, and we’re delighted you could take full advantage of that. We truly appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back for your next long weekend."
Great Place to stay! Close to the Waterpark for the Kids.
My kids and I enjoyed our time at Massanutten. The house is clean and it had everything we needed in it. It is also close to everything, especially the Waterpark for the kids. That’s the only reason why we go to Massanutten. Julie, our super nice host checked in on us to make sure everything is to our liking, and to asked us if we needed recommendations on things to do and places to eat. All in all, we had a wonderful experience. Thank you!

From the Owner: "Thank you so much for staying at the Brown Bear Cabin. The waterpark is my kid's favorite place at the resort too. Well, that is what they say when all 3 of them are not competing in NBA Jams here at our cabin. We look forward to seeing you again next summer and the new Roller Coaster will open then too so it will be so nice."

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Guest is in charge of the taking the trash out (which is 5 miles back and forward trip. All the way to the top of the hill where the dumpster is). Also, guest needs to wash the dishes, leave all the sheets and pillows stripped off....
Had an adult girls weekend in November with the plan to spend our days visiting nearby wineries. Location of house was good for our plans, close to main roads and not far from a few of the wineries on our list, dining options, and a grocery store. House was clean and spacious, listing was accurate.
Two small suggestions would be to add more specific directions to the trash dumpster. This was communicated with the host and received well. Other item would be to add more kitchen items, specifically pots/pans and mugs. We had enough for our small group, but it may be challenging for larger groups, especially if you are hoping to cook more/larger meals during your stay.
Overall, very pleased with the house and would consider booking again if we revisit the area!
Fam got together for JMU parents wknd. House was big (enough room for 4 adults and 3 teens to all be very comfortable) and about 20 min from campus. The bathroom and shower off the master b-room could use some love and all the bedrooms only have bright white fluorescent overhead lights, but the place was perfect for our purposes. Note: It was a pain to have to cart the garbage 2 miles away in opposite direction. This should be part of what's included in the cleaning charge.
The kids and I love the house. It was super clean, modern, and spacious for them to play in. Location is great and close to the Massanutten Waterpark. That is the reason why we were there.
We brought our dog, hoping he can play in the yard, but the layout of the yard is very steep, rocky, woody, and the grass was really long. We were afraid the dog might get ticks or hurt himself, so we just walked him on the gravel trail across the street. That worked out just fine.
The one small complaint I have is trying to find the dumpster to throw away our trash on our departure day. It was very frustrating. It took me 20 mins to try to find it based on our host Julie’s direction, who by the way is very nice and responsive. I think it might be a good idea to post directions and a map to the location of the community dumpster.
I was not happy at all Julie was unprofessional and didn’t provide with the correct information. I ask for clarification and she responde me with few details about the bed and the grill tank but the grill was dirty, master bedroom bed fell apart didn’t have sponge to wash dishes didn’t I never received the instructions after I make the payment for example the time for check in check out and code to get in the house I got there at 3:50om call some the costumer service from Vrbo since I didn’t get any email and I waited 15 minutes for someone to answer the phone finally there they answered the lady told me I had to call Julie and she was the one who provided me with the code well the Vrbo lady didn’t know how to help me since I couldn’t open the door the gave me Julie’s number to get in touch with her to get help to open the door she provided me with the introduction I told her no one send me the instructions or any information I need not even nothing after my payment I paid more than 7 hundred for 2 nights after that I check the house and notice the thing that wasn’t properly clean our fist night my 1 year old slept with me in the master bedroom at the middle of the night the frame fell from the end and it was because the frame need it a carpet or something Since the metal and the floor did not hold the frame thigh well I ended sleeping in the floor since I was scare that happen again.(Julie) she lied about not knowing the owner I ask I want a refund she say I can’t help you
