Great value for the price. Small, clean and well-loved classic Catalina cottage. Walk through first bedroom (continental bunk beds & double bed) to get to second bedroom (double bed). Has a small front porch with street-side seating, and a small, sunny, and private backyard. Washer and dryer included. This home may allow a small dog (less than 40 pounds); please get details from our reservation specialists. 319CE

Not the cleanest. No paper towels. Front toilet seat was broken. Came home from dinner one evening and fill tube on toilet had broke and flooded to kitchen. Host was contacted about water and we told them that we were able to resolve it but we needed fresh towels in the morning since we cleaned up water mess. No towels were ever delivered.

the property was as i pictured it. older funky and clean. but there were things that should have been taken care off before arrival. the toilet seat was extremely loose and nearly came off when seated upon. the refrigerator was never cooler than temped and never made ice. the box fans were filthy with lent and dirt. there were 3 trash cans at the front, full and stinking. the management company was quick to come to our aid, but these things should have been seen and taken care of by cleaning staff or host.thank you for listeningdaniel

The place needs a thorough and deep clean. There is mold in the bathrooms including the shower curtain (yuck). If you have COPD like I do, stay away. The location is close to town; however, it sits on what appears to be one of the busiest three stop intersections in town, aka, noisy. There are comforters in every closet. Perhaps buy a small air conditioner instead of more blankets. The temps inside the house were up to 88 degrees during the day. I forgot to mention the filth covering all the fans in the house. Actually there is too much deferred maintenance to list. The property management company can only do so much, owner please step up and fix your place.

Pet friendly

This was the only place in Catalina we found that allowed us to bring our dog. It was such a treat to have him with us during our stay and Catalina the property was charming, not very modernized, but has that old-school Catalina feel and vibe which we appreciate.

Cute cottage, has games, collar to Von’s. Short walk to beach. Place was very clean. Only issue Wifi did not work Tv. Had to use hotspot on our phones. Message the link provided at checking didn’t great back. But had a great time with family

Perfect home in every sense

This was a beach cottage with a front porch. Everything you could possibly need for your stay was here. Grill, beach chairs, umbrellas, all the household appliances, . We didnt need for anything Vons was a 5 min walk. Beach a 3 min walk. We walked all over the town and Two Harbors as well. It was the best vacation and my teen grandkids and I cant wait to come back. Nice but golf cart noises

The place was nice and the location is good. The house needs some TLC. Most blinds don’t work, dishes and silverware were dirty, linens had stains. The place is located at a 3 way stop and ALL the golf carts that are rented go through there and it is quite noisy.

After seeing the excellent reviews, we decided to rent this one after finding our normal rental was booked up. Location is great, walking distance to everything. Even the sleeping arrangements are good with bunk bed and another bed for the kids, and the 2nd room for parents. One of the bathrooms is a bit small and tight, other then the toilet the room wasn't used. Even my 12 y/o thought the shower was too small too confined.The pictures are a bit deceiving. One shows carpet in the living room and then wood so you didn't know what you were getting till you got there (Its wood flooring).Also, not fan of an electric stove, so was excited when the pictures showed gas. Spoiler..its electric.Plenty of cooking utensils, pots, pans, glassware, plates , etc, so for those cooking on site, you will be fine.One security issue I found was that the back door to the back yard from the back bedroom does not lock. If anyone entered the side gate (also no lock) , they could walk into the house through the back door.Other that it was great. Management quick to respond, maintenance quick to address.

The worst place to stay in the best area

I hate how this property management company has listed their properties on VRBO. These properties are falling apart, the absolute bare minimum of what is described or promised. I paid 1000 to stay for two nights. They didn't even have TOWELS in the bathroom. The property is not adequately supplied for the number of people they claim it can host. Overall, I would stay away from any Catalina properties this company manages. The only thing they have going for them is the perfect location right in the middle of Avalon.

Love Catalina and this cute home!

This VRBO listing was great! Listing and pictures are truly how it is. Had everything we needed for our trip as described in the listing. The only reason I gave it a 4 is that directly outside is a Stop sign and in Catalina people drive golf carts so you hear the stopping and going of the golf carts inside the house. You tend to get used to it by day two but if you are someone who wants quite this might not be for you. There is a ton of fans which was a big plus too as you can open the windows and let in the fresh air with fans running the place cooled down. This house was perfect for our family of 4 and our pup. You can literally walk across the street and have a great hike/sight seeing. The view was amazing!

The outside area is well kept up and the location is perfect but the inside of the house is run down and needs some upgrades. No vents inside the bathrooms, half the blinds don’t work and some windows won’t stay opens. Also the heater inside the house was not working so we had to use space heaters.

The cottage is in an excellent location. Close to Vons, the beach, everything. We realize that most of the rentals do not have AC. However, it would be nice if the rooms had ceiling fans. It’s pretty hot to sit in the home during the day. Like miserably hot in July/August, even with box fans. But it does cool off while you are sleeping. Overall, it serves the purpose that we needed. Which was a place on Catalina to lay our heads!

Comfortably accommodated our family of 6. Our boat arrived 4 hours before check-in, but the property manager allowed us to leave our luggage in the living room while the maid finished cleaning so that we could go see the sights without dragging our luggage along. Small spaces, but that's typical for all buildings in Avalon. Heater, no A/C, but plenty of fans and extra blankets in the closet.

The Catalina Vibe

My son wanted to go to Catalina since he moved to California a couple years ago. Options that allow dogs are limited so we booked this property early. A bit dated but great location, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Staff was very easy to work with, received prompt attention to the one minor issue we had with Wi-Fi (quickly resolved).

Cozy Beach Cottage

So this place is adorable and convenient to the beach, restaurants, Vons, etc. There are plenty of beds. It does not come with a golf cart so bring your walking shoes. It needs some updates. The prior complaints were true: we never got the wifi to work, we never got the TV in the master to work, some of the blinds were broken. Some of the dishes were dirty and no clean sponge was provided. Overall though it’s comfortable and convenient. Just not as nice as one would expect for the price.
