We loved our stay at the beach house. Location was great for all north shore activities. Beaches and views were awesome. We loved the local vibe of the area.

Incredible Location, Frustrating Communication
My husband and I and our two young boys spent five nights here. The location itself is terrific—seconds from one of the most beautiful beaches we visited, across the street from the idyllic Sunrise Shack, a perfect jumping-off point to explore all of Oahu.
The house is a bit of a "beach shack," which worked fine for us. There are quite a few bugs and some very cute geckos scurrying around inside. The view off of the deck is just as pictured, so beautiful.
When I hadn’t received any arrival information the day before our flight, I reached out to Ron and Amanda over VRBO, the provided phone number, and an email I found. Nothing. I had to get VRBO customer service involved, and they couldn’t get in touch with them either. The night before our flight, I got a text from Amanda with check-in info to my relief. We never heard from Ron.
I had depended on there being laundry, but we could not find it. There is no binder or anything with house information like most VRBO homes (including the others we stayed at in Hawaii). I reached out to Amanda, but by the time she got back to me, it was too late to do the laundry. She said there is a washer in a shed in the yard and that the dryer is in an attached house, but the owner is away, so we wouldn’t be able to use it.
We had a fine time. The initial communication was pretty stressful given we were traveling so far with two small kids. Just seems like this property isn't a huge priority for them.
The property is not well suited for VRBO renters. It is pretty shabby, not well cleaned, and very importantly advertises air conditioning in a hot climate where the AC unit is not functional and is only a window unit for a small downstairs bedroom area. We could only stay for 2 out of 5 days as the kids were miserably hot in the upstairs loft area and we had to check into a hotel for the last 3 nights. We were disappointed in the condition of the property and reaching out to the owner for a partial refund.

Beautiful beach house
We enjoyed our stay at this beach house on Sunset Beach. Our family lived in Hawaii for years, and we loved the more local feel of the place. Despite being out of the country, the owners did their best to answer our questions in a timely manner. We were able to borrow boards and make use of a private beach path that put us 20 seconds from the water
Absolutely loved our stay here and already ready to go back! There were four of us, stayed for 5 nights. The house is really cute and cozy, walking distance to sunset beach made it all worth it. WiFi speed was great (We worked remote for a few days). Sunrise shack across the street. Just a short drive away from shark’s cove for snorkeling and some amazing surf breaks. None of us wanted to leave by the end of it!! Haha The hosts Ron and Amanda were amazing and attentive too. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and letting us into your home!
The perfect North Shore place to stay for 4 people. Comfortable, open, great deck, even an excellent kitchen. 1 minute walk to the beach, about the same to the Sunrise Shack to get breakfast. Ron and Amanda bend over backwards to accommodate and make guests feel comfortable.
Short drives to Wahiawa in one direction, great food trucks and eateries in the other. If you’re there in winter with the big surf (and cool temps!), can drive about 20 mins along the coast toward the Windward Side to swim at Ke Iki Beach.
My wife and I and my mother stayed here over the winter holidays. It is a very well located house, right off the beach so you can hear the surf, and a terrific view of the big wave surfers right from the deck. The place is two levels with the upper level more like a large loft, so the entire place feels very open and comfy. We were greeted in person by the owner who lives downstairs and he showed us inside. He was very helpful for our entire stay. It is more of a beach cottage not some perfectly put together generic condo. If you are lucky you will see several small/cute geckos on the small trees just off the porch. Perfect stay, we would do it again in a heartbeat.
